All right good afternoon. I am Chris and today I will be covering password protected areas. A great tool to use with your CMS for creating password protected areas on your site. We do have technical support member in the chat today, so if you have any questions please feel free after or during the webinar to ask any questions in the chat. All right, so what is a password protected area? On a base level password protect areas allow you to restrict access to certain areas of your website. You can think of a password protected area like a file cabinet drawer. The password protected area it's a locked file cabinet drawer. The pages and features you add to the password protected area are the papers you add to the drawer. When you give a user access to password protected areas, it's like in the person a key to the drawer. You can have multiple filing cabinets, multiple files in each drawer and multiple people with keys to a single drawer. So now let's go to the steps on how to setup a password protected area. As you can see here I'm on my web admin login page. Sorry, dashboard. So we're going to go over to the three-line hamburger menu click here and we're going to scroll down to page management. As you see here now we have our password protected areas, so we are going to click there. Alright so this is our password protected area landing page. So this is where all of the password protected areas that we have created will be stored. As you can see I have a few here already. As a new user this will be blank and you'll just see the new area. So we will go ahead and click on new area. This takes us to the landing page to where we can add pages and features. You'll see right here it has the title new area and a pencil, if I click right here this will allow us to change the default title from new area to whatever naming convention you choose. I definitely advise you to pick an area or pick a name excuse me, that fits with what you're trying to password protect. To just avoid any confusion. So here we're going to change new area to staff and teacher meeting. Okay great. So just click out of that and that has it stored now. So now we're going to click on add pages and features, this brings up the pop-up box with where we can add a URL if we're going to a different site. for the specific user or we can go over to our Category Pages. And select a page that you want to have password protected. So we're going to go here, click on miscellaneous and from there we're going to go staff and teacher party. Then add selected, because that is what we're going to be password protecting. Great! So once you have that there it's going to populate, now also to we're going to click on who has access. This allows us to choose from bulk actions of adding all staff to adding all particular users. Also to, so when we add all staff say for instance, we click save and vice versa for all users. So this is just the adding platform, I'll definitely show you a way out how to add individual users as well. So we'll just go ahead and all staff, and will click save Great! And so right here it takes us back to what we just initially password protected you'll see right here if you have a trash can where you can delete the file and eye that will populate the actual page that we're going to be password protected. And so you see here it requires you to put your username and password which will be your CMS admin credentials. So from there we click save All right and here here just going to refresh our page and you can see where we have stop and teacher meeting and now it's requiring us to have that this page is a password protected and we need to use our username and our password which again would be are credentials that we have for our Edlio CMS. All right and so I'm going to jump back just click on our homepage button and I'm going to go over to site management go to user management. Previously I was talking about how to choose specific users for password protected content. So I'm going to go over here to select Liliana Perez, let's jump back. Sorry about that. I apologize. Go to user management and we'll select here great. So when I click edit profile and I click on a user or admin I scroll all the way down here. Then keep scrolling and we will get to the password protected areas so if there's an area that you need to select as far as this user for a password protected area you can choose right here and select which they will have access to now click save and now I have that attached. Great so that is how you set up a password protected pages and also to just against so sorry about that and just to give again to get this out of the way just to give another show. To show us here that it's in our navigation to as well so that is how you set a password protected pages.
