in a couple of features that are going to be useful in managing your app so let's go ahead and get started to start I'm going to walk you through all of the supports resources that you have available you'll notice that on the bottom right of our screen we have this red circle um if you click on it this is our intercom launcher this is where you're going to get a lot of your support um I'll start with contact support when you click on contact support it will populate 3 items here so the first 1 is going to be asking your AI support agent our AI support agent Eddie is going to be available to help with any questions that you have for example let's say I would like help with creating news items for my newsfeed I can come here I could type how can I create news for my f we're gonna let that load for a minute here and voila Eddie will populate a drop-down step by step guide for you to be able to follow along and usually populate pictures so you are in the exact correct place you'll see that here and and usually you'll get an immediate response from Eddie so feel free to explore Eddie as you continue learning more about your app what about if I want to reach our it team how do I do that you'll notice you have create ticket here if you click on create ticket it's very much the same interface however when you submit your ticket your ticket will go to our it team and they will respond to you so I always let everyone know make sure that you're monitoring your chat here so that you could get your answers finally under contact support we have your knowledge base you can search through our knowledge base we have different articles we have videos we have materials that are available for you whenever you need them um to support your learning of the app you'll also notice that we have study hall sessions so you can click sign up for live study hall sessions we have a lot of different options for you for our different products specifically for the app and mass communication product these are upcoming study hall sessions we have your app 101 um which is your fundamentals we have app Q&A where you can ask questions um learn more about the advanced features within the app then we have mass communications as a study hall as well feel free to register for these These are available for you the um free of charge and they're here to support your learning I'm going to close down our intercom launcher and then we're going to get started here with our marketing feature I'll click marketing we have marketing dogs and we have store widgets you are getting your new app and you want to let people know that you have a new app and you want to also let them know how they can download the app do not worry we do have support resources for you we have a poster and a flyer available once you are ready to print and you print them they will populate your school colors also your school name and your School logo will be populated there as well so the posture and the flyer are good materials to let members of your school Community know how they can get on the app how can they download the app down here we also have a press release and an app download infographic tons of um materials for you we also have this teacher opt-in infographic which we will come back to when we are talking about um creating news there is a difference between an administrator versus a teacher creating news so if you are interested in having your teachers create news we will talk about that as well and we'll bring this document back up I'll go back here to the marketing feature and you'll notice we have our store widgets as well um we do have a code a QR code here if you would prefer to download this QR code and put it in your posters this available for you you'll also notice we have a couple of codes here for the following icons and the store Banner again feel free to use this to publicize your new app so you have members of your community join we'll go back to our home dashboard and a little bit further down here notice that we have reports within your reports you have your analytics specifically if you are interested in understanding you know as your app is being exposed to members of your school community how many active installs are you getting daily and weekly and monthly um what is the usage by feature daily weekly and monthly even as well as how many times your app is being opened you can get that information right here so we went to reports and then analytics and you have all of that information here I'm back in the app dashboard and we'll go ahead here and start with the away communication um which is your news feed so you do need to do a couple of setting up if this is the first time um you are getting into the app and we'll start by going into features specifically app new seed once you are at app newsfeed for now we are going to focus our attention on our top right where you can see feeds and where you can seek categories I'm going to click on feeds here what are feeds just like the name suggests feeds are ways that you can feed information from third-party sources into your news feed what do I mean by the news feed I'm going to the app here and we have our news this is going to be your newsfeed so with regards to feeds we're looking for ways in which we can feed information from party sources into this Newsfeed what are those different ways back here on the dashboard we have a couple we have your RSS feeds we have Facebook Twitter and Instagram feeds and then we have event alerts we'll begin with your SS feed your RSS feed is where you're going to pull from your website so if you post news on your website you will be pulling news from your website into the app if you also have our at Leo website usually Our IT team is going to automatically connect that for you um that 1 is called an API feed you might not see it here but if you want to know if your API feed has been connected go ahead and look into the news of your website and see if you can see the news that have been populated on your website on your newsfeed on your app newsfeed if you can see them then your API is connected if you still have the at Leo website and the app as well and you don't see it go ahead and post a news in your website so you can see if you have that there and if you don't have it at all feel free to create a ticket like I showed you earlier and let our it team know and will be able to help you with that if you are pulling from any other website as well um you can go on and create an RSS feed so you'll click new you'll add your internal name at the UR L the RSS url url of that feed and then go ahead and click okay and you would have connected your website what other ways can we feed information um from third-party we've talked about your RSS feed the next 1 is going to be your social media so if you post on Facebook and you post on Instagram or Twitter you can in fact connect your social media to your app so that whenever you are posting on your app or whenever excuse me whenever you're posting on your social media you are also posting on the app click on new and then you'll go ahead and connect with Facebook it will take you to the Facebook interface you can go on in and then connect your Facebook and Instagram as well with regards to limit visibility days we'll see this a couple of times with regards to news limit visibility days is basically how long do you want this news item to be viewed um do you want it to be viewed in a for a day for 2 weeks for a month if you don't have a time limit and you basically leave this at zero or as is the news will be there for as long as the app exists what is the difference between creating a news item and creating a push notification so when someone texts you on your phone usually if you have your notifications turned on you'll see their name appear that you have a a new message from said person that is a push notification so if you create a push notification you're choosing to push that out to members of your school Community for them to be notified when there's a new news item and then creating the news item is simply making the news item exists your target sites are going to be your schools so if you're a district you'll see multiple of your schools here that means that yes you can connect your social media to multiple child sites within your District if you are not a district you'll just see your school here and you'll be able to connect that for your Facebook and Instagram pretty much the same because they're owned by the same company here your Twitter same process here you'd be able to connect with X or Twitter um and then you'll be good to go 1 last thing I do want to emphasize specifically for your Facebook and Instagram usually when you click new and you can connected it might start doing a countdown so it might tell you you have 2 more months do not panic usually Facebook will have you um go in and insert your password every 3 months so that countdown just letting you know after 3 months you'll have to go in and do this again for security reasons all right the last way that you can feed um information into your app news feed is through event alerts so I'll give you an example of what this looks like I'll go to my app here you'll see the very first news is here's what's happening this week so this is an event alert a weekly event alert you can see the tag here letting you know the events are happening this week we also have a daily 1 that goes out that will say here's what's happening today and the back end of that is here under your event alerts under feeds your daily alerts usually you can set the time here currently for this app it's 8:00 a.m. Monday to Saturday if you only want it to be during the weekday you can also do that and then the weekly ones usually you want to give members of the school Community a summary of what's Happening coming in the week this 1 is set on Sunday at 5:00 p.m. again you can absolutely feel free to change these at any time to suit your needs and usually it will use all of the calendars added into the app unless otherwise state and whenever you make changes go ahead and update your settings here as well okay let's go back to our app need speed dashboard okay we'll now we've talked about feeds next we're going to talk about your categories when it comes to categories um notice that we have 2 types we have sight categories and then we have my categories your site categories are going to only be created by your admins so if you're watching this and you're an admin when you create a category chances are it will be a site category my categories are usually created by teachers or individuals who do not have the admin dashboard what is the difference When an Admin creates a category so a site category usually everybody is opted into that site category which means everybody gets to see the category um or the news posted in this category if you are confused about what categories feel or mean categories or think about them like buckets right you want to place different news in different buckets if they are the radically different so maybe you have news about you after school program and maybe you have news about Arts um maybe you have news about the sports for example right you want to tag each news according to the theme so those themes those buckets those are categories site categories like I mentioned are admin created you'll go into the new on your top right and then you want to give your category a name let's call ours training for example it could be after school program it could be Sports then we want to give our category an icon usually we select iOS 7 let's see what comes up you have to type that in okay with this 1 that is populating and we're creating it here now notice this checkbox opt-in new users by default has been automatically um checked that's because we want everybody to be able to see this news since this is being created by your admin you don't have to really worry about the system category option you also notice we have allow teachers to post news so when is this going to be useful a good example I like to use say this is a sports category or Athletics category um and I as the admin would prefer that my coaches um or School coaches Post in this category because maybe they know more about it and it would just be easier to have it that way but our coaches are not admins so they don't have the admin login they can only have the teacher dashboard log and maybe we don't even want to give them the full admin access so this is a really good example of when you would use allowed teachers to post news because I will be able to create the Athletics category because I am the admin and everybody will be opted in so that they can see that news and then I can allow my specific teacher to post in this category would that necessarily making them an admin or giving them all of the admin access so you'll go in there click allow teachers select your teacher and then be good to go notice at the bottom here we have what call secured access this is also something that will keep coming up you can limit at any point you can limit um who you want to see a specific feature a specific category specific news using secured access if for example I only want my news to be viewed by staff because maybe this is a staff news I can make that happen by going to secured access and clicking staff and it will only be visible to staff or maybe staff and admins maybe staff parents and admins furthermore I can also go into my groups so different um groups of people that I have created or put together and can make it visible to just them so maybe um I have my classes pulling from my sink I can make this visible to only my sixth grade classroom or my fifth grade parents or you know all of the freshman um students and their parents so you can in fact limit it to specific groups and also specific roles again if you are a district you can create your categories in different child sites but if you only have that 1 school it will populate here and that would be what you would select and then would click okay and now we've created a category a site 1 notice automatically depending on how many people are already in your um app all of them will be automatically subscribed including members of your community who are new and they keep getting the app they'll be automatically subscribed to your site category what about my categories so we'll create 1 here this 1 like I mentioned is usually for your teachers um and they do appear currently on the app so let's say this 1 is going to be um grade 8 and we're going to go ahead and select an icon we can secure access here so maybe this grade 81 I only want the grade 8 students and family to be able to see it um Etc I'm going to click okay so let's go into the app here and let's have a look at where these categories we've are going to populate you'll go to the navigation menu on your top right you'll click on your name and then you'll have a look at notifications and you can see that we have a collection of categories up here and then we have a collection of categories right here the ones up here are your site categories the ones that have been created by your admins so you do for example whatever category you create is going to populate up here as a site category you can see the training 1 that we've created and you can see that Bell has been selected which is very different from the grade 8 1 that I just created you can see that it's actually hidden from the news feed so 2 things to note here your teacher categories are going to be in automatically for students or members of the community who are not part of this teachers classroom I'll repeat that your teacher categories are going to be hidden automat Ally for students or parents or members of the school Community who are not part of um this teachers classroom which means if I uh I'm part of the grade 8 classroom this is going to be automatically selected and I don't have to go in and manually do that if I am a parent of the Great 8 classroom again this will be automatically selected and I don't have to go in and manually select it however if I am not part of it it it will populate as hidden and then if I wanted to go in and get news from this specific teacher I'll go into the notifications and I would click that Bell myself which is different from your site categories because I don't really have to go in and select that I want notifications automatically this is going to be added for me all right so we're going to go back here and to our app and we're going to go into the dashboard before we continue I'll go I'll direct us back to the marketing option specifically marketing docs remember I mentioned that the feature opt-in infographic in the case where you do want members of your school Community to subscribe to a specific teacher who and and maybe they're not part of their classroom you would need to let your teachers know and your parents know how they can do that this document works really well in Walking members of your community Through the step-by-step guide on how they can do that so it lets them know with to go they should open their personal settings they should navigate to the notification feature it walks in through that and then they'll be able to find the teacher category all right let's go back to our dashboard and now we're actually ready to to create our news item usually after you've done all of these setting up normally you don't have to go in and keep setting up once you've set up you're ready to create your news item last thing I do want to day you do want to emphasize if you want teachers to post news in the app they do need to create a category so ensure that your teachers have created categories for themselves so that they can post news there all right we've done all of the setting up we're ready to create our news we're going to mass communication or if you don't have the mass communication feature you have that plus create news option that's what you're going to click so I'll click mask for this 1 Click messages and then we're going to click new message we're going to start from scratch and we'll have all of the channels populate here for now we're only going to focus on pushing our news into the app so we'll Click app and once you've selected your app we get to choose which site and which category we're going to push this news into because this is a district we have all of the different schools here um but if it's just your school you'll see your school name and then you'll see the different categories that are populating so I'll select my training 1 if it is a personal category or um if it's not a site category it's a my category you see that it has the icon of um the person icon here letting you know that we're currently wanting to post into the site category so we'll select that it is going to be available to all if this category was secured and only available to specific roles it would also have told us that remember secured access secures the feature or the news to the group of people you select that you want to view said news or feature we're going to click next and we're ready to create our news I'm going to go ahead and grab some text so I've added my title I've added the body of my um news here what are other things that can include so of course you can use the formatting bar to dress your text up or dress your text down accordingly I can go in and I can insert an image let's go in and insert this image here there we go I can go in as well and I can add a link and grabbing a link for us here so we're going to make this a link there we go and then if you scroll further down you can actually add other attachments to your news click add attachment we have a couple of options here you can add a video you can add a file calendar even contact information um form pictures quick links any of these options um let's actually add 2 things let's go ahead and add a file attachment so I have a document here that we're going to include this is our creativity PDF that I'm adding there and perhaps let's go ahead and add contact info so feel free to experiment with a different options that you can add their and once you're good to go we're going to click next we'll add our message name this 1 is going to be titled test and then then you have your channel settings so we're pushing it to our app we want to send push notifications to notify people that there's a new item we can choose to pin this item to the very top um we can limit VIs for this item um as well at the bottom you can schedule for later so if you're about creating different news items you can schedule for later you can also make them recur as well on our right here you can see the summary of what we're about to do we're pushing it to our app news feed um the audience is everybody so we don't have 1 specific audience we're targeting uh and then we're sending it out immediately that's our schedule so we're ready we're going to send our message it's letting us know that our message has been sent and we can see that here let's head over to the app and have a look at what that looks like usually you'll see that red dot letting you know that there's something you have not yet seen in your news and voila here is our news item testing the app and you can see that category is training so we click on it to see more of our news we're seeing the title we're seeing the rest of our text we're seeing our image here is our link that we added we have our document and we even have our contact info if I click on the contact info I can see the email and I could also message if you have that uh feature turned on so there we go there is our news item now a couple of things here let's say I would love to make some edits on this news item to make some edits on my news I would need to go to features empty my app newsfeed you'll see your actual news here here's our testing news app you'll go to the edit button here and you can edit your news you can remove you can add different items that you need um you can also go into the title so let's say instead of saying testing new app I wanted to say testing the a new app but this is such a small change I don't necessarily want to push it out and have people do the push notification again so instead what I will do is I'm going to apply or okay that is going to silently change your news item however if you click save and resend it's going to save it and send it out as if it's a new news item so that's the difference there I'll go back here all of your news whether it's coming from Facebook whether it's coming from your website or even event alerts all of those news will be populated here you'll be able to see who has created the news what categories in with coming from so we can see that the event ones these ones are coming from our calendars we could see who's viewed it basically that means um how many devices have received a push notification for this specific news item the viewed by means um I could delete I can edit Etc what if I want to understand some more details with regards to my news I can go into home spec ically mass communication and I can click on my news item and again it will give me my summary here and under report details I'll be able to receive if it's been delivered or if it has failed and how many people it's been pushed out to with this I could also export the report to have it in hand to analyze whenever I need to and that's going to be everything you need to know about your newsfeed all right that was a lot of information let's go ahead and do 2 more features um that are going to be a little bit easier uh the first thing we're going to do is your calendars so your events and your calendars where do we go when we want to connect to our calendars we're going to head in 2 features and under features we'll scroll down to events and it's going to open up to our calendars now if you are connecting let's say an iCal you would click new and then you'd go in and add your iCal URL and then the name of that calendar let's actually look at 1 that's already existing so you can see how it looks we have this 1 we're using an iCal so we'll go into edit we have the iCal populated here and you can see the name as well on our right it will let you know when it was last updated whether the sync was successful or not um so you can know that we are in fact pulling from your calendar and it's successful I want to focus a little bit here on the secured access at the bottom we've already said and established that with secured access you can limit who gets to view whatever feature or whatever news item now when it comes to calendars let's say you guys have a staff calendar and you want your staff members to also be able to view um info from the calendar so don't necessarily having it be exposed to parents or students or anyone else who's not a staff member you can in fact create your calendar and then you can go ahead and make it visible to just your staff members so you can in fact use secured access within your calendars just to ensure that only your staff members are able to see your events we'll go back here last thing to note if you have let's say um you have populated some events on your iCal or on your webcal and you're not seeing those events populate here you can go ahead and process the iCal however usually it will process about every hour and it will let you know when the next scheduled processing time is your events are going to appear under events and if you have multiple different calendars you'll see multiple different calendars you can go into the calendar and usually depending on the calendar you'll have a DOT for each event on that day so on Friday we have varsity football if we had events let's say 2 events you'll see 2 dots let's see here if I'm able to show you using some that already exist ah okay notice that on July 10th we had 2 events so we have 2 um marks there and then you can click on the event and view the info usually and for that's populating is coming from your webcal so the more information you have there the more you'll see it here because we are pulling from your iCal but what if I don't want to connect an iCal URL maybe I want to go in and create a calendar manually I also can do that so you click new and you'll click new calendar let's call it training always you can add an icon there we go and then we're going to click okay now we have our calendar here we'll click on The View option and on The View option you are now ready to create your events so we'll click today we want to create an event we're calling this training on web page let's go ahead and add our description there our start time for the event you can choose if you want this to recur you can also set locations specially if you have those added previously you can add a link and you can add an image just like we did with the news item and then we're going to go ahead and click okay now we can go into our calendar and we'll go ahead and click events you'll see our training calendar appear and we have our calendar event for tomorrow and you can see that right here trading on web page if these are location added you'll also see to let you know members of my community can share this and they can also save to their own calendars as well and that's everything you need to know about your calendars you can of course import calendar events you can export calendar events um you can print as well and you can in fact have 2 types of calendars you can have your webcal calendars and you can also have calendars created here on the app dashboard as well all right we'll go ahead and do another hopefully easy to remember feature so under features we'll scroll down 2 daily messages on a daily messages we have a calendar interface here so today on the 10th I'm going to click on today and we're actually do an example and then we'll talk about more of what the daily messages can be used for I'm going to grab our example I'm adding my message here for now I don't want you to repeat so I'll click okay here's our message let's see how this populates on the notice that little notification or that little feature item up here your braver than you believe stronger than you seem smarter than you think so for my daily message example I am using a motivational quote you don't have to use it that way you can use it for many many different things you can use the daily message for blog schedule days early release days daily announcements public holidays maybe you're celebrating someone within your school Community um you can use it uh for any anything anything that you would need to use it for what are the benefits of the daily message as you can see it is right in front of you so anyone who's using your app will see this message when they go into the app first thing that they go into the app additionally it also does not send push notifications unlike your news where you can notify people it does not do that it will automatically appear and after 24 hours if it's not set to repeat or recur it's going to disappear so if you want something that's Li updates members of your community on maybe information um you can definitely use the daily message without necessarily notifying everybody um however if you have a longer message that we advise that you go in and use your news so you're not affecting the layout of your site you can also import daily messages if you have multiple ones that you want to appeal consecutively um you can export daily messages you can add an icon URL if you have a URL or an iCal where you already have all of the daily messages added as well I'm going to click on this 1 and then when it comes to deleting you can in fact and you can delete it you can make it recur you can set it for multiple days maybe you have an event coming up on Saturday you can have it um stay on for the next 2 days until you event is over and that's going to be your daily message all right we'll go ahead now and and shift our attention to 2-way communication what if we want to send a message and we want members of our community to respond back what is a good feature for that we have conversations um and we'll start by sending a conversation um in the app so I'll go into the app and you want to find the conversations feature and once you are are in the conversations feature click on the plus sign you'll notice 3 options there we have create conversations send bulk private message and we have join conversation we'll click create conversation and you can create a conversation with an individual so you can have a 1-on-1 conversation from here and notice that I have individual names appear you can also create a group conversation so I can add different people in my conversation as shown or I can have a group conversation with groups that have already been created so if I want to use the fifth grade list that I had already created or the PTA list that had already been created maybe even send a message to all users or maybe to my classroom the English 101 classroom I can do that depending on where you want to post the message you're going to click on the audience then we're going to give the conversation a name and then before we create notice that you can see this public option that means if I want to I can set the conversation to be public and to have people go in and view this conversation um if I do select public I can also choose if I want them to join using um or with approval we're not going to make conversation public we'll just create it and it will automatically pull together everyone that you have set as your audience for the conversation what can you do in a conversation you can send a message screening and this is a test I can also send an emoji I can send an image as well and I can even include an attachment there we go in a conversation you'll notice this ellipses here you can mute a conversation you can translate the conversation if you have members within your school Community who use more than 1 language or have a preferred language that is not the default 1 that you um use you can use the translation feature you can rename a conversation View particip depends in any attachments associated with that conversation under settings you can close the conversation that you can delete a conversation as well and then you can report an issue if you click report issue you can go in here and establish why you're reporting an issue for example if you click report the issue will be reported all of the admins are going to be notified we're going to go back here and you can see here's our conversation you can also create a a public um or excuse me a bulk private message so let's say I do want to send a message to all fifth grade parents but I don't really want to create a group and have them you know respond or say hey Ashley there's an issue here I can in fact go in select the group add my message add any attachments I have here click Send and this is going to be a bulk private message very similar to the BCC in your email option you can send multiple emails without necessarily having each 1 know that they've received the message this is very similar to that and then finally you can join a conversation so if free or if there's a public conversation you'll be able to go in and you can send requests to join if it requires approval or you could just join if it does not require approval on the back end of things with regards to conversations we have conversations here we'll have your conversations very similar to what we um gone in and worked through in the app so that's what my conversation is your site conversations are going to be all of the conversations on the app all of the conversations that are being had on the app you'll be able to see them under side conversations whether or not you as an admin are part of the conversation you can see who's the owner um whether the position is still active when it was created what time it was created when the last message was even um the messages itself the attachments the participants you can go in and you can view conversations you can export to CSV you can print as well you also will be able to view conversations that have been deleted under reported issues you'll be able to see any reported issues with regards to a conversation so I can go in I'll see okay this is the issue and I can view the exact conversation and see everything within that conversation that will be your site conversations now there are a couple of settings when it comes to conversations we have your general settings and then we have your role settings your general settings are going to be where you can choose whether you how long you want this feature to be available for so I want my conversation feature to be available 24/7 then I don't set the time here if I wanted to be available for a specific number of time we're only doing the school weekdays I can set that here I can also monitor for key words I can select if I want um to be able to see any time when members of my community use a word that maybe as a community we're not trying to endorse so we do have a couple of options here you can go in edit add some more and then you're going to add an alert recipient in this electric recipient is going to be notified whenever any of those words in the list have been used at the bottom here you can conversation reminders so if someone has an unread conversation you can choose if you want to enable reminders currently for this 1 they are enabled for 8:15 a.m. and you'll see that check mark added if someone um if the reminders are enabled on our right you'll see your translation which which means you can choose if you want translations to be on demand when members of your community request them or if you want them to be out automatic which means when they um land on the phones they will be automatically translated to the preferred language set their notice on our right we have your role settings too so you can choose how each role gets to um participate in conversations for example for your admins and usually admins and teachers and staff have very similar settings here at any point feel free to change these and make sure you save to um make sure that your changes are reflected for your admins for example admins are usually managers managers meaning they can add or remove participants from uh conversation they also can create public conversations and they can create group conversations they can enable group selection as well um they can send bulk private messages like we saw earlier uh they can use role-based lists so admins and parents and Guardians if you want those to be selected they you can select that here they also it means the target rules here if they're all selected it means the admin is able to message any of these roles individually so that means an admin is able to message a teacher individually an an another admin individually and so forth in this case an admin is not able to message a staff individually so that's what the target roles in the selected roles there means you also can select if you want read receipts to be on and if you want to override feature availability meaning um if the feature the conversation feature is only enabled from Monday to Friday as the admin you can choose to message or use a feature at any time so that's overriding feature availability it is a little different for students and parents most of the time time for students for example students usually are not managers um if you see that they are the checkbox there is not selected that means a student cannot create or remove um they cannot create a conversation a group 1 a public 1 and they cannot add or remove participants from a conversation they also are not able to um message any of the these other roles individually so they can only message teachers and they can only message administrators um individually that also means if a student wants it to message another student because that boxes in selected students are not able to students are also not able to message another parent um 1-on-1 the only time that maybe a student and other student will be able to speak with the settings is in the presence of an admin within a group or in the presence of a teacher within a group so you want to go in and just have a look at your settings to ensure that they match what you would like for your app and then as always click save if you make any changes to have those changes um reflected and that's going to be everything you would need to know about the conversation feature now the next uh feature we're going to walk through is going to be we're app your app builder this is going to be a quick tour on your app builder but definitely look forward to an extensive um training on the app builder click on app builder this is going to be where you go in and edit all of the features basically the look of your app so your photos here how your app items are populating um and the layout here um whether or not you want some of these items on your app all of that we can edit and we can figure out under the app builder so your slideshow Builder is going to be the slideshow photos that you see on the app so these photos right here we can in fact edit these photos right here and you can see them here you can add a new photo click on ADD go in upload the photo and then save always make sure that um your photo matches the size here and it will let you know if your photo is bigger or smaller it's going to let you know um and then you can adjust accordingly now you can do other things within the photo itself so once you have a photo you can add what we call tikur in text I'm going to go ahead and give an example I'm adding particular and text here and notice that you can see that text at the very top here welcome to the app associated with this picture I can also choose to make my photo clickable such that if I click on this photo I want it to take my school Community somewhere else so I'm going to go here and to make a photo clickable you do have this clickable option we're going to click clickable and then we want to select the function where do we want members of our school Community to land these are the different options that are going to be available you can select a call so whenever they click on the image they are taken to a phone number that's dialed automatically maybe content content is any of these maybe you want them to land on a calendar or a document or a form um you can add any of those options there perhaps you want them to land on a folder so think about the content options talked about but imagine you had those in a folder so that's what the content folder is about you can also choose an email maybe you want them to land on an email or a feature features are are inbuilt items these are all of the different features we have available classrooms forms Hall Pass um your tip line if you want them to land in any of these you can select those features you do a link here as well and I'm actually going to use that as our example perhaps I want whenever they click on this image I would want for them to to be directed to this link so I'm going to add that link here if you are adding something like a link I would add a ticker text here to direct your school community for example may be I will say um view classroom resources here something like that add my link choose if I want this to be visible all the time or if I want to set a time limit also I can add um how long I want each photo to appear for and then we're going to save and once that's saved notice that now if I go into my app it's letting me know I can view classroom resources here and in fact if I click on it it will show me the link so feel free to experiment with your uh slideshow here and use them for whatever you would need and then you can always if you do not want them to be clickable we're going to take that clickable option off and then we're deleting our ticker text to keep it as is so that's your slideshow Builder next is going to be your menu Builder this is where you're going to select the menu items that you want in your navigation menu your navigation menu depending on your layout will look something like this this is the horizontal layout you can see all of the items here I can add I can remove any of these items if I want to I'm going to go back here to my site notice you can see all of the different items here using the blue option I can the blue icon there I can move my items around the red 1 I could delete it now let's see if I want to add a new item I'll click on the plus sign it will automatically add a new item depending on what part of um the section I'm in I'll click the new item we always want to figure out the function first where do we want people to to be um where do you want this link to land them where do we want this feature to land them these are the functions we've talked about this when we were discussing the slideshow Builder um in this case I'm going to let's say use link once more I'll add the link that I would like and then once you've already selected the function we're going to go in and select the label we're going to call this classroom resources perhaps even teach resources and then we'll add our link up here so from our library let's see what happens when we type in teacher there we go as always you can secure access at any point and we can choose if we want this to open externally from the app um or within the app and then we're going to save this so now after the app Library we should see our teacher resources going to reload our site our app site here and you'll see we have teacher resources right here and it takes us again to the link that we have added now if I wanted to take it off my app but not necessarily deleted completely you do have this feature called disabled that you can select there and then save this what this does is it's going to take it off your app as you can see but it will still be available here it will be grayed out will be available for when you want to enable it again or if you completely do not want it you can go in and you can delete always make sure that you're saving so that your changes are reflected finally we have your toolbar Builder your toolbar Builder is very similar to your menu Builder except this is what you're seeing at the very bottom of your app so the items on the bottom that's your toolbar it's very similar to how we've added items in the menu Builder so we'll click add menu item and you always want to select the function first after you selected the function you're going to go in label your item and then save you can move them around you can always delete and it would be good to go all right go back here to home and that is everything we're going to cover in our app 101 training again I do want to remind you that we have our support resources in the red intercom launcher here feel Fleet to explore Eddie our AI support agent feel free to create tickets we're happy to respond to those as well as feel free to sign up for a live city
