Good morning, everyone! Thank you so much for joining us today for our intermediate Pages webinar. Today we'll be covering a walkthrough on our Pages feature, so going over how update your pages, if you need  some help adding a site navigation or even editing your existing pages. Along with some tips and tricks. We also have a technical support representative in the chat today, who can answer any questions that you may have. The webinar is being recorded and will be accessible to everyone in The Help Center. So let's go ahead and get started So first off, I am going to login and once you sign in just as a reminder that everyone's dashboard is set to their rights that they have. So, I am currently logged in as an admin, so I have access to everything here. If you do not see everything, It just might mean that your rights are a little bit different. So ahead and go into our hamburger drop down menu And we're going to want to go into page management and click on our pages. So just as as a recap here for those of you who are familiar with Pages or maybe you're new to using our Pages feature. When you log in when you see Category Pages or Personal Pages again that's set to your rights. Personal pages are for teacher pages that you're creating, but Category pages are all the content that you're placing on the website. Now with categories please note that you can only have six categories. You cannot add or delete any of these but if maybe one that you see here is not relevant to you, what you can do is if you click one category option it'll bring you to the following page you'll see that for your category list you can choose which one you would like to show or hide so maybe you didn't have athletic teams because you were at the elementary school for example, you could choose to hide this here. If you wanted to leave them all as is you could go ahead and do so Now when we click back, another option that you have with the Categories is maybe you'll want all six of them, but you wanted to rename your category. If you click on any of the categories you can click on the pencil icon next to the name and go ahead and change it here. So let's say we wanted this to be Academic Department and if you click out it's going to go ahead and say that for you so now when you click on pages here you're going to see that it went ahead and change that category name for you. Now, you also have the option that once you start building your pages you may not remember where you specifically placed a page, so a great little tip that we have for you, Is if you click on search pages you can go ahead and type in the page's name so maybe it was "About Us" for example or "About" You'll see that it tells you where exactly you have pages with that title and what you can do is, if you click on that page it's going to take you to that page or section directly so you can just start working in it, instead of going in and one by one clicking into each category or section trying to find the page. [Pause] Another option that you all have, is if you click on Category Options again You'll see that your bread crumbs, this is the path that tells you where exactly the pages are and I'll show you once we get into creating the pages. Now by default, it'll be set to displaying bread crumbs on all the pages, but you can go ahead and change that, so maybe you didn't want the bread crumbs or you wanted to decide which Pages specifically it would show on. You can go ahead and change all of that here. So let's go ahead and turn it on for all of the pages. Then you'll notice that when you scroll down, this side panel option that you see, let's go to the actual website. I'm going to go into one of the pages we have here. [Pause] So what this is telling you is the section menu that you're seeing on the side here, the panel, What this is giving you the option to do is maybe you're noticing that when people are going into create pages, some of the section menus are on the left some of the section menus are on the right. What this will allow you to do, is change it for all of the pages. So you can choose for it to be on the left or you could choose for it to be on the right. And then once you click, that'll go ahead and change for you. And then your last option that you'll see here is File type icons. so whenever you're using that file upload option on a page this is set for to show what type of file it is. So maybe it'll say Syllabus.PDF for example. You have the option to hide what file type it is. So if you wanted to do you can do so again by clicking into Category options and once you completed all of your changes, you want to go ahead and always make sure that you click on save changes So now I'm going to click back into Pages here and I'm going to click into our Miscellaneous category and as a reminder, when you click into a category you're going to see all of your sections listed here and please remember that would sections, you can have an unlimited amount so you're not capped as to how many you can have And when you click into a section you can add as many pages as you would like to. I'm going to click back into our Miscellaneous and a few more tips and tricks here. If you click on the three dots of any section, you're going to see that you can click in to edit, you can see the public view, you can add directly to site navigation from here you can choose to unpublish and then another option that we have as well is moving...so what you can do is maybe you created your section and you realize its in the wrong category and you wanted to go ahead and move it over. You don't have to go into the category and start all over again with a brand new section, if you click on move it's going to let you choose what new category you would like to move it over to. The same option will work where if you click into a section, maybe you'll realize one of your pages was accidentally in the wrong section. If you click on the three dots you can go ahead and select "move here" and you can choose which category and which section you would like to move it over to. Now I am going to click back into Miscellaneous here and let's go into our COVID-19 resources section that we have created here. So under COVID-19 you'll see that these are all of the pages that have been created so far and if I click back one you'll see that if you hover over this icon, its letting you know that this has already been linked to site navigation so if you see this icon here that means you've already added to your website and it's accessible for everyone to view. So I'm going to click into COVID-19 resources and anytime you go ahead and create a page, you can always go back and make edits. So let's go ahead and click on COVID-19 Resource Center. And right now all we have used so far is our content option now what you can do as well as if you go under "add" you can also choose to add photos. So maybe you wanted to have photos stacked under each other or rotating on the page. You can go ahead and do so by clicking on photo. And by default it'll be set to rotate, but like I mentioned, you can set it to stack. Another great option that you have too, if you weren't aware, is you can make this collapsible. So if you didn't want everything to show on the page, what we could do is if we click on "collapsible" here, we're going to call this photo gallery for example Once you click on "upload" you'll see the same 4 options of where you can pull your photos from I'm going to go ahead and click "my computer" I'm just going to select a few test photos here. Once it is done uploading, you'll see that for us, our admin has enabled the alt text feature so the alt text feature will prompt any user that whenever they're uploading any photos or is it gonna prompt them to add the alt text before they can move on and alt text is very important for acceptability purposes. So that way if a user is possibly using a screen reader, if there's an a image, it'll  grab the text off of the image and read to them what it is. So all you have to do to add the alt text is click on the photo click on the "alt text" here and you want to be very general with this, just put books and for example if you had a photo of students in an assembly or maybe at lunch in the cafeteria, you can put students in cafeteria You don't have to name everyone. So for this one, we'll call this classroom and you'll see that it takes away the orange pop up that says missing alt text. Then your other option and that you have here is your files. So you'll see that we accept any file type. If you click on "upload" again, you're going to see the same 4 options listed here. I'll just choose a sample file And you can even make files collapsible, so whether you're using content, photos or files, you can make all of these collapsible so let's go ahead and do that for our file as well. And as a reminder to everyone whenever you are uploading a PDF you have the option to embed directly onto your page. Now this only works with a PDF file, it will not work with any other file type and the way that you can embed it, is if you click on the three dots this option here that says "display options" you'll see you have a few sizes that you can choose from we recommend going with the middle option or the largest so they can see what's on the file. So I'll go ahead and select the largest option here. And it has embedded this to directly on the page for me. If you don't click on the three dots and a the display option, it'll just leave the file link on the page for you. So you still have the option to choose which one you would like. Now on the right hand side, you'll see that these are all of our pages that were in our section, the COVID-19 resources section. And you even have the option of adding your content, photos and files under your section menu as well. Now you have the option where maybe you were working on some new pages, you're not ready to publish it, you have the option to just save as a draft and then when you're ready to go ahead and click on "publish" And now I have saved everything that I have worked on here. What you can do is since our website is live you can go ahead and hover over the link, right next to the page name and when you click on it here, it's going to go ahead and bring you to all of your pages that you have created. So when we scroll down you'll see that here's my photo gallery I added and my resources and since we made it collapsible, you would have to click on photo gallery and that will go ahead and rotate for you and you can always choose to collapse it back and you have the same option with the PDF. So if we click on the arrow, it's going to go ahead and display the entire PDF here, but parents can also download from the embedded PDF or click on your PDF file here as well. And you'll see all of your pages here so once you click through you'll be able to see all of the content on the pages as well. Now if we go back into the admin site and I'm going to click on our section name here, which will take me back to the section that we're working on you'll see that you still have the option of adding more pages if you wanted to. It doesn't just have to be going in and editing your existing Pages. If you click on new page You'll see that you can add another blank page, you can link to another page, which is useful in let's say you're at a high school for example, your district has maybe resources that they placed on their website and you want to link to theirs you can go ahead and click link to another page and this will allow you to title it whatever you would like to and I'm just going to go ahead and type Google here for sample purposes. What we recommend as a best practice is to open this in a new tab that way it doesn't take the parents or the students away from your website because if they were to close it in the same window, they're going have to reload your site, so we suggest clicking "open as a new tab" and once you click on "save" you'll see that this has been created as a link and also under new page, you have the option of choosing any of the features listed below as well. One great one to use is maybe you had a form that you wanted parents to fill out for how remote learning is going through COVID-19 for example. If you already created the form, this is linked to our forms feature If you click on "Form" you're going to see all of the forms that had been created here and what you can go ahead and do is you can select any of the forms, so all of the ones you have created will be listed here. So for example, let's say this was our form. Once you click on "Save" what it's going to do is, t's going to place that form in the section menu as well, so that way they can just directly fill out the form when they go to the COVID-19 resources. So what we'll do here is, once we click on the "public link" you're going to see that District Resources has now been added, and if we click on it, it's going to take us to Google and then you'll see the form that we added as well, so when you click on my form what you have created here will display and they would be able to fill out the form and submit your responses here as well. Now, you can always also go back and click on the three dots and you can choose to unpublish, you can choose to delete ,maybe you didn't need the page anymore so we'll go head and delete District Resources for example And we'll go ahead and delete the form also as well. So now what I also wanted to cover, is if you may be created a section or a page and you're not seeing it site navigation just as a recap for everyone, what you can do is you can directly add from being in pages to site navigation or what you can do is if you go on under site management you would need to go under site navigation and you would choose where you wanted to add the section or pages that you created. So let's say you wanted to add it under "About" I would call this COVID-19 Resources and just as a recap, we are going to want to choose section / page. Because we created this in Pages, URL means if you have a link that you wanted to place file means you upload a file directly so maybe it was your lunch menu or you had a specific resource file to share with parents you can directly upload the this here and feature page. If you ever forget what's considered a feature, if you click on "select" you'll see what's considered a feature page. So maybe you were using our food menu where you directly type onto it or you wanted to link your staff directory for example, but in our case we want to click on Section / Page and when we click on select the page, again you're going to see that all of the pages you've created are listed here instead of scrolling and searching for them, you can type in the name and you'll see that it'll tell you it's under Miscellaneous. I'm going to click on COVID-19 Resources and always make sure that you click on "Save" And once we go back and refresh the website and it may take a few refreshes for the changes to take effect. Under "About" you'll see COVID-19 and you'll be able to see again all of the pages that were included in that section So as a reminder, if you have any questions at all please feel free to reach out to your client success specialist at Edlio.
