Hi everyone thank you so much for joining us today! Today we're going to be talking about SEO for pages Today we're on our demo site and once we navigate to the admin we're going to navigate over to our Pages module we can come to the hamburger menu come down to page management and pages Once we're in the pages module we are going to have some Advanced options that we can set up to help enhance the search engine optimization for your website We can come to Category Options and breadcrumbs is always a great thing to have enabled it doesn't necessarily enhance the SEO qualities but it is going to help your website visitors better navigate throughout your website between sections and pages so that's always something good that you can have selected when we're in our category options here this first option is going to show all the bread crumbs on all of the Pages regardless of whether or not they've been turned off individually then you can also turn it off for all of the sites and then you can decide which Pages you'd like to have the bread crumbs on so for us today we are going to keep it on all pages here so as we're navigating through our website and our sections and Pages we can easily see the path that we followed when we come back to the pages we're going to go ahead and click into our category and then we'll come to the section and this is where we're going to be able to further edit what it is where we're looking to do with our SEO options so first we're going to go ahead and click into a page and you'll see our actions button here and then this is going to give us some additional options so we're going to go to page option and this is where we're going to enhance our pages with these SEO availability so here this is going to be the page title tag that shows up so we can go ahead and do one of the few things for that title so we can keep it as as it is what it's already been populated as or we can go ahead and make it a little bit shorter so let's just say we don't need that title of the section and then we can come down to the meta description so you're going to want to keep these to be a hundred and sixty characters or less and send this is going to be what the search engines are using to help direct people to your pages so in this case we can go ahead and say this is just going to be a quick description of what it is our page has on it we can add keywords Keywords are going to be a way for search engines to find your site and by indicating what content is on that page so it's going to be hidden and Google going to be the only one who knows but it's going to basically once people are searching for certain items it's going to help them find your page and then we also have the option to add some additional header tag these are going to be open graphs or OG tags and they're they're used for reposting a page on social media so here if you have any questions about Advanced tag request you can contact our awesome support I'll be able to help you out with that as well we can also set a friendly URL so this is going to be rather than having the long string of letters and numbers it's going to be a quick and easy way for you to direct go to this page because we've renamed this page to ECP fine arts we're going to go ahead and click save changes and now that we've saved those advanced changes when we come to our live site we'll do a quick refresh and we'll come to our fine arts program page and you can see here now that URL is our friendly URL so it's nice and short then we have our bread crumbs here this is showing us where we're navigating and then we have all of our other Pages here in the section let's go back and we'll come back to the fine arts section come to our syllabus come to our page options and now let's go ahead and add those SEO options here so let's give this a friendly URL and then we'll go ahead and update this and remove the section and can just keep it the page title and our school, our description our keywords we have our bread crumbs turned on here for all of our pages click save changes now we'll come back here, we'll do a refresh we'll come to our semester syllabus and you can see now we have our nice friendly URL up here. You can also copy this and paste it into any of your newsletters, on social media, so people can click on that and quickly be redirected to the appropriate page here As we come back we're just going to go down the line and do this a couple more times Let's say we want to promote our drama production and we want to add this to a flyer we certainly wouldn't want to add that's a really really long URL so let's go to our page options we can rename this to drama production remove our section name Save changes and now we should have our updated URL we had it as Fine Arts tickets, now we've updated it to drama now we have are nice and short friendly URL up here So to do a quick recap on what we've talked about today we've enhanced our Pages for better SEO availability so we came to our pages our category options this is where we turned on our bread crumbs and we made them display across all pages these are our bread crumbs here so we can navigate back through We have it set default to "On" for all of our pages then back to our Pages module we come to our category, we come to our fine arts section here and then what we did was we clicked into each of our pages we came to our actions menu our page option and this is where we added all of the additional information so when people start googling the option we are guaranteed that we're going to come up in those options Thank you so much for joining us if you need any help with anything you can always come to your admin come to our help drop down come to the help center and here where you're going to find all of our help articles you'll find the SEO options in the advanced section under SEO for pages and that's where it'll take you through those step-by-step again to enhance your search option if you ever need help you can always get help by submitting a tech support case or calling in to our tech support line as well.
