Hi, everyone! Thank you for joining today's webinar. My name is Cathy and I'm in the Client Success team here I'm also here today with my teammate Sergio from the tech support team who can answer any questions that you may have so feel free to ask your questions in the chat so before we get started I do want to mention that everyone who has an edlio account also had a dedicated Client Success Specialist as well as unlimited access to our tech support team and we do have an amazing help center which can be found on the admin site feel free to take a look around we have help articles as well as previous webinars that we record and upload. This webinar will also be recorded and uploaded to the help center in the next few days. so today I'm going to be talking about adding users to the user management feature and how you can create your staff directory using staff blocks so let's hop over to user management you can you can use either the dashboard or the hamburger menu this can be found under site management and user management so I'm currently logged in as a super web administrator there is only one super admin for each website and that it has its own unique username which is admin and this is the only account that can add, remove, and edit other web admins and all other privileges and access for the super admin account are exactly the same as the other web admin accounts with web administrators you may want to have a few people who manage the entire website as well as update the content of your homepage we don't recommend having more than five website administrators because having a lot of what admins making simultaneous changes on your homepage could cause some confusion and inconsistencies now we have our regular accounts so this could be your teachers and school administrators when you add a new user account by default it will be a regular user account without any extra privileges they'll have their own personal page where they can create their own pages upload photos and videos and create calendar events for teachers they'll have access to the classes feature so as you can see on the user management page you have your web admins on the top followed by your regular users they are they're laid out in rows so you have the name of the user, the username, email if they have 2FA or two-factor authentication enabled and the last login date So 2FA is an added layer of security that requires app based authentication if you do not have it enabled you can do so from your profile you'll see a button in your profile page that will take you directly to set up the 2FA if you have any questions again feel free to reach out to us and also I do also want to mention if you are interested in Google single sign-on or Microsoft single sign-on we do offer that as well so feel free to submit a tech support case and our support team will assist in getting that setup for your site keep in mind with that option you do not need to create all of your users individually they'll be able to login to your school with their school email address alright so we have a search function at the very top where you can filter users by their name, username or email address and if you would like to create a new user you can either manually enter the user information but if you have a new site and you just got your links from your project manager feel free to reach out to your client success specialist because we can absolutely upload all of your users in bulk and we provide you with a CSV template Alright so I'm going to go ahead and create a new user so let's go ahead and fill out all of the information and for passwords you want to create a strong password it needs to be a unique password that isn't generic or a commonly used password so the requirements are listed here make sure you follow them this is just to create a user account and as a precaution to make sure that your account is safe and you do have the option to add additional text additional information so if you want to add any additional info that is shown on the fields listed feel free to add that information there and now we're going to move down to user type if you have a teacher make sure to mark off teacher which will allow the user to access the classes feature the other types wont come with the classes feature unless it's marked off in user management So Super Admins, if you're creating a new web admin check the web administrator box and if you're district and would like to give users a multi-site management this allows users to easily jump between admin dashboard so this is for districts that have more than one site You can also pick the areas in which you would like for the non web admin user to have editing privileges. Web admins already have full privileges I'm so you know all of your page categories and sections will be listed any non webadmin users can edit specific sections as long as the edit access box is marked off We also have other privileges such as news and event categories additional features as well as password protected areas below you'll see an area for account status and you can always go back when you're editing the profile but you can always go into a user account and disable any users. This removes the user from appearing on your public site as well as deactivate the account so they won't be able to login you can also lock them out this keeps their info on your public site but does not allow them to login this is useful for anyone who takes leave and would definitely be returning to school and lastly you can delete a user of please note this deletes all of their personal content as well we're going to go ahead and save this user and let upload a profile photo so clicks on this pencil like on here and then you'll have the ability to choose from your computer, Google Drive, Dropbox, or Microsoft OneDrive you can also drag and drop the image okay so once you have your photo uploaded you can crop by and position the square that you see so let's go ahead and make this a little bit smaller and then save your changes Okay so now that we have our users in user management we can go ahead and create our staff directory so I'm going to is our staff blocks feature this is our latest staff enhancement and it can be found in pages so we're going to hop over to pages and then choose the category and section where you'd like to add your staff page so I think I'm going to go into this category and then we want to add a new page and be sure to click on blank page essentially we're building a brand new page with a staff information using staff blocks and I do want to mention if you don't see this in your admin site please reach out to the client success specialist so that we can enable that feature for you and if you're using the old staff directory keep in mind that you can't use both so you know if you're if you're interested in this feature reach out to your client success specialist we can hop on a call and discuss what would work best for your school we definitely recommend going this route I'm going to give my page a title and with pages you can choose your layout for this demo I'm going to use a full with layout and I'm going to add my page block and although it's optional, it's recommended to add the staff search function this will allow your community members to search for a specific staff member now we can begin adding our users, again we're going to add and then we're going to click on staff you can of course select all of your users so these users are from the user management feature they're all listed on this staff management list so so that's why you would want to create your user first before creating your staff page so you can select everybody you can display this by alphabetically by first name, last name, and position. You can cherry-pick the users that you would like this play You can also search save and then all of our users have been displayed here we can go to the gear icon and we can choose a layout so with this feature you can drag-and-drop the six dots to your left to reorder your staff directory you can order them in the order that you wish that they be displayed and of course you can keep building on this page just like you would build any other page I'm going to go ahead and that content on some schools like two separate the staff members by sections or grade levels I'm going to give this a header and I want to drag and drop this here so we can continue to add more staff members Alright so we have our teachers here again I can use a different layout if I'd like and then once you are done you can publish your page you can also of course save your drafts and come back to it later be sure to check out our latest Pages Webinar that we've done. We have lots of information on how to create beautiful pages I'm going to go ahead and publish this page and after you have published it we can take a look at the public site look at it from a public View and when you're ready to add it to one of the drop-down menus here we can definitely do that so you have two ways to do that so you can go under actions, add to site navigation or you can add it from the site navigation feature itself on the dashboard, Site Management, Site Navigation, and then if I want to add this under this about section area then I'm going to go ahead and add it as a regular page so this is just a page we've created we just have to search for it you can of course use you can also navigate it because it is separated into its category and sections or you can search for it I'm going to save my changes and now if we go on the public facing site, give it a refresh we have our staff directory listed on the public facing site Alrigh, so that is our webinar on User Management + Staff Blocks I hope this was helpful.
