Danny, from our Client Success team, takes a look at some real-life Teacher Pages from Edlio Websites that we think are true standouts, and how you can create something similar! We share some simple tips and tricks to elevate your Teacher Pages, and how to best use your Pages to communicate with parents and students.

all right everyone I think we are ready to get started my name is Danny I'm a member of the client success team here at at Leo's thank you so much for joining us I'm joined today as always by Sergio Flores from our support team is the man he's going to go ahead and answer any questions that you have throughout the webinar today so if you do have any please feel free to throw them in the chat if you keep your eye on the chat about the webinar as well I mean throwing a lot of links in there so she can follow along as we go through through what today what is today's topic teacher pages we're going to be looking at a teacher pages all accounts come with a section where you can share information about yourself section is referred to as personal Pages actually is all about you classes calendar photos any other information that you want to put on your school website we generate call them eat your pages because teachers are the one who will be using them the most often but again at the other for everyone different play some real life teacher pages today that's pretty exciting something that we think are the real the creme Dela Creme mean out of the top of the Heap hear the best teacher pages that we have seen will look at how we can go ahead and a if I go ahead and play some stuff we are seeing here about a certificate but we don't have a certificate for this today we do have that you'll get a follow-up email address thank you for being here today I'm not sure if you know your your school accept that as part of that but that. we do not have any sort of official certificate along with this today all right so so today's agenda. First one to be talkin about a building out teacher pages talking to your pages in general or look at a teacher paid that is it up without really a whole lot of bells and whistles and what can what can be added to that teacher page before we jump over and look at them real life teacher pages and we'll go ahead and replicate some of the stuff we're seeing on those pages on this piece of already set up so we can see how it's really kind of set up a little bit y'all make it look as good as it can be right so you have a lot to get two switches. What's hop right to it okay to this come over here to our admin site of the first thing you want to do is log in to Heaven's Sake what say you know you're a new wearable clients IND haven't logged into the admins that yet but you're added you as a user to your site if not we are going to contact and if it's your first time ever logging in and you know you're not sure of your your password anything going to create or reset a password and go ahead follow the steps you'll be able to log in and set up your password but go ahead and log in here all right I've entered the password their folks my apologies there we go success we are in all right awesome if you were a teacher and you're logging and you're going to see something very similar to this if you are a web admin you're probably going to see a whole lot more than this as an admin you have access to a lot more features when it comes to a teacher's e-mail you just with regular access here we try to limit it but you didn't you some accept all your pages calendars and he was going to put out their buylist things like that so again if you are a teacher at this is what you should be seeing when you first in and up here if you want to go ahead and add to two Factor authentication we always recommend doing that make that account as secure as possible all right now the first thing that I want to go ahead and I do hear what's the start with I'm up here how do teachers get your teacher page or how do users get their teacher paid right now so let's just say this is your site here that were using rylo high school today you see that up here so normally your your staff directory is high are you just we'll get there you can have it in your site navigation up here or a lot of times if you have a quick links on your homepage on a school so glad they had them there so quickly cut the bottom of our page the command staff directory all right I'm going to go ahead and click on my name here I am Danny Benson all right and this is my current teacher page it's not bad you know I have some information here a little bit about myself I have a PDF fear of a classroom expectations for my students and it's a little video I batted here as opposed to know it's it's fine enough information but yeah we can definitely do more with it I saw the first thing I want to do is come over here the admin site my profile I want to go up here to account profile I want to go ahead and add a photo of myself there we go all right you can crop that photo if you like I'm going to keep this one as is edit your profile and add any other animation about yourself you want contact information things like that with your name and your email address here you want to add any sort of a other information will see a lot of teachers using this like the other space here to add another vacation things like that so that I can add that there my info again I was a schoolteacher myself for a little while here a lot of us a Ted Leo where we have a lot of former teachers year I was go ahead he'll see we can add phone number I'll add my school number here just in case any parents need to get a hold of me I'm going to say that okay I want to go and just refresh this real quick so you can see something here information now my profile photo here is on my teacher page come down here is my phone number if I don't want to spend you know I was talking to display my email automatically but that I don't want to send me an email and then go and click on that and I'll send me a form email that's all I depend on your a settings found in your your admin site there I got to sit at the admin level so you got to speak to them about how that is set up around here for more info I'll have my education there if anyone if you are users want to go in your page and subscribe to it here click on that the answer there like information here anytime you make any sort of update to your page will be notified about those updates and then on top of that you don't have his this information here their email address things like that you can go ahead and send out letters information to anyone who Subs drive to your page and just make specific that you really want them to know about I'm so it's really great to encourage people to go ahead and subscribe to your personal page your teacher page all right so I'm over here when I go back over to the Batman sign holding out his teacher Pedro see what we can adhere to go back to main dashboard Hear What I Hear two pages I can also go up here to Hamburger drop-down menu page management and pages OK Google first time ever ever ever lost in you shouldn't really have anything here you might see a quote here and I'm at a pay we've already done that here so I added a page and this first one has popped up that's like this now the other things we can add so we can add a blank page if you want we can link to another page you want to like link to a Google Classroom as a external site that we tell people using it's really like covid-19 information things like that you had linked to another page and then here we have our Picture Pages the right now I already have our calendly art, our calendar set up here are videos of videos as well and so I went ahead and added a video before and added as a post we have our photo albums feature and links feature any important links that you want you are a school Community to go ahead and visit there what's going here all right so I'm building a what are the things that you can add right we recommend you do a welcome message contact information about yourself homework assignments calendar maybe some parent resources or class news and awards things like that but I have a little bio about myself here in classroom expectations if I wanted to hear from the top of our layout have this one set up where our section menu is here on the left now again if we come over here any page that we see these here calendar videos post would come over here these are all of these Pages here so I add another page right now that but that page will be added to that section many we were just looking at nobody added over here on the public facing site all right but you can go ahead and play with the layout if you don't want to text me you can do that here you want to add this X-Men either write you get over here over here we have our hero images I will get into that in just a little bit and when we start looking at real life teacher pages add content blocks you the sad sign here yeah content blocks never use my address General like it's how I added this information up here with using a Content block I need to embed anything you can do that up here little source code button here I think Jenna is a pretty standard text editor right so if you used any sort of any any sort of steam at anything like that I'm sure you know how to use is pretty intuitive you can also add down here photos file so that's how I edit PDF here or supply list feature of buttons will get that in a second and any links that you want to add to the quick a little overview of things that you can add their height but now let's get into the real star of the show today and that is the real life teacher these are going to be painted that we think are super impressive and a great use of the edlio platform through these links into the chat here so you can go ahead and take a look on your end let's look at our first get it I saw threaten the chat here first hey. Are you still in the chat please let me know if you did not get it I'll go ahead and pull up on my screen here all right awesome so frequently have up here is Mister Kelly's classroom I think this one might be for my favorite teacher pages of all time it just like so colorful and bold and it just looks like a really fun environment right like you want to be a part of this class I love it I'm great use of images here we have a hero image up here up top I'm going to tell mr. Kelly here he's used some sort of I photo editing software I always all always a sing the Praises of canva if you want to trade Zack really great-looking graphic striking images their use canva you do not need any sort of graphic design experience I use it all the time tonight Us in the Praises of Canada you have a welcome message to images here a little a photo here Mister time self-image year of his favorite things another thing to note up here is this the URL he has created a friendly URL with his name and circle usually when you see up we'll come over to mine real quick here who is this is long and unwieldy index last year's being a lots of like numbers and letters here we can go ahead and create a friendly URL there as well just makes it look a little bit better little aesthetically pleasing images over to my doll teacher page over here so the first thing I want to do is change this layout we want to go ahead and use the hero image which mr. Kelly has up here so I've already edit an image to use for this Cairo image I use camera to do it I want to go to hear the ad page walk up tops that just added this new way out here and that you can have  many buttons things like that we're going to bed and a day photo or at least at all text so it's important to add alt text for excessive purpose of screenwriters know what the image is that you are adding to go over here to the settings for this image with a few different options now if you want to add multiple photos you can do that we have them rotating like a shuffle we have stacked on top of each other also have it Friend or Foe with your sister Kelly here is doing the constrained option what kind of fault it within on the edges of the page here I want to go ahead I think I'm going to do the 4 I was just like when you first come in a second add all the stuff that we're going to do that at all that the end will go back and see what it looks like in real time so we can see that but there we go I have my banner up top there I'll see come down here what other images the  when you as well so you can add some over here at a photo here all right and a photo of my dog here and let's see another image here I build one ought to point people to that subscribe button right I really want them to be able to go ahead and find that someone to add a page walk when I have photo upload and go don't have that all text I am going to add one more as well getting those Concepts I want to go ahead and add this photo block it's a little about me here image don't know what we are looking at all right and then depending on where you want to go at the very top I'm going to drag them up here using these six dots and seeing this guy here okay awesome out of those images of URL over here to actions page options this is where we can specify that play you are out right now that we have that long unwieldy thing here it's going to simplify that you just mr. Benson whole lot easier to remember this looks better too okay awesome so we have that all set up here so Jen the very end here's what we're going to go and look at how this all looks on at the actual websites year ahead and look at this teacherpayteacher throw this in the chat as well aren't you sent that to this is for mr. Dr. Brian Johnstone here now this one is a little bit different right not not really a lot of images here how is my the bottom here is using could use of the photos feature a lot more text heavy right it's what I really appreciate this one is the Simplicity of it you know just it's at the wall of text but he kind of breaks up really really sound we hear me using the bullet points there it's it's really good and giving us a resume background of who dr. Brian Johnstone is even here on the sides here we have some contact information in a class schedule looking for used to that space and then we have some final over here, go ahead and add a class schedule to my section menu as well I really like the way he did that so it's go ahead and do that again this is the section when you over here but add a Content block for this one's we're adding text alright use my class schedule Orange pretty simple there don't need to do too much more with that and actually it was some of that button over here's what's going to show you that you didn't have a Doctor Brian Johnson doesn't have one over here look at the buttons just looks really good especially on a section on your like them ice over here look at the add button button for play I Am the editor of the Gazette to the school newspaper here so I want to go ahead and add a button here to draw people to that all right and then here go ahead add URL to open a new tab all right awesome these colors here they're going to Auto defaults to use on your site here so this one for Ryle High School some Browns and blues some white so you have any of these to choose from again it's from the color scheme of your sight how those are pit a spot that one all right awesome has published button down here is another way of saying State going to say what changes that we've made here okay awesome so we've made some changes to our section menu year they stopped dr. Brian Johnstone us page here let's go on to our next one send Snapchat as well all right so now we're looking at this is Diana a Services page here she's a counselor at Suzanne Middle School here goes back to anyone can have a teacher pay teacher pages personal Pages they can use for any staff members I really love the way this is Eva's here explains her program the different ways that you can assist students in her school and I always appreciate a little touched a little Personal Touch with a picture of a family's incredibly sweet it just now kind of bridge that Gap right you know who you are as a person kind of welcomes people and I want you to appreciate the little things like that I really like this one to get this more just to demonstrate here again and is there anybody not just pictures they're going to do any any staff your school can have one down here which is also making good use of the post's teacher here. Back over here to the admin site all right now if your posts can be added to your page who's our automatic going to be at the bottom your page so I can hop over here down here you'll see I have a post edited video does added as a post here any post that you make is going to automatically added to the bottom of your teacher page here so I hopped back over here any admin that you can add some new posts I go to the hamburger drop-down menu post right there anything you add there will be added to the bottom of your teacher page all right let's go here next one all right now we're looking at his West page all right another one super color colorful great use of images here assuming probably made these in in Canada as well again can't can't sing the Praises that enough here to hear something down here she's making these images to your they're also linking them out to a waiting at these books really great stuff here now the thing I want to focus on this with his bio it like that I want to focus them here on Google Classroom integration all right I do not have on mine I'll see how we can go ahead and add some classes at to our teacher page go down here to classes there we go do you not have the option to add a class please reach out to your all your admin of your school website to make sure they go ahead and add a current term for you to go ahead and add these classes letters add a class right now and I just mean a Leo class you enter all the information manual manual you want but we know most schools are using Google Classroom it's a great great tool and you know if it ain't broke don't fix it you know we definitely recommend using Google Classroom as possible where do I hear an import from Google classroom all right and then so here we'll just go ahead and select the classes that we want to go ahead and add at the department I can add those classes might take a couple seconds here as it's not loading in the more classes you adhere the longer it's going to take to load onto just give it a second here I shouldn't take too much longer all right there we go this has been an added here to see it's automatically pulling in assignments that we added to Google Classroom. We'll see here at the the bottom of the Patriots automat they're automatically added to a teacher page I want to go to refresh the page at the end all the changes that one so we'll see how these classes have been added to my teacher page once we are done we have a couple more pages to look at here alright alright remember this one in the chat being kind of cya already why I love this one up here we have a a gift Banner the using that he image that we just added before I got we're doing the full with here now but they're using a gif you know it's because of that animated quality to it I love it when using a bitmoji messenger go ahead I found a video I have somebody made one of these using Google slide I might add that the demo that I found for the on YouTube I want to add that in the chat here as well very handy if you want to do something you want to Chris me like this again it's very inviting classroom kids want to be a part of I love I love is by brightness I'm all about this I would come down here but the thing I want to really focus on down here down here as a very animated a banner up here and down here we have this information is broken up with collapsible arrows you're right it kind of makes for a really clean looking paid right you just find whatever it is that you're looking for boom bam hit that Arrow you can find whatever it is that makes instead of having walls and walls of texting PDF just makes it works a lot cleaner I love I'm to go back over here to the admins I'll go back to my teacher page all right will do know I'm going to add some syllabus here's kind of show how the so we can break this up his classroom expectations let's go and make that collapsible open it up click that collapsible button all right there we are classroom expectations and will go ahead and add another concept block here for a syllabus make that collapsible I will upload there we go alright great facilities here again you want to make these classical just hit that little button there after you add the the fire Genesis 2 oz of want this right now if we was just as it's just going to display this file name your people can open that up now so when I open it I want them to be able to display the file itself I'm going to click your three dots under display option to the file name when he's over here is largest image look and see what that looks like for publish that okay awesome okay I'm here at right now so we can look at so that we have that one this one I really like because here with his principal page here because in a second here is his load them aside we have a Twitter feed embedded in the section 8 I love that use social media as a primary source and getting your information after the school Community why not use Twitter and you know we make it easy to go ahead and in bed those feed within your at Leo site what do I have here here's a health article about how go ahead and in bed Twitter how to get an embed code there but I've actually already add a pulled an embed code from my Twitter account as a teacher want to go over here I'm also going to add that your to the section menu I'm going to click add content all right I'll delete this and walking to the store Scott if you ever want to embed anything you want hit the source code button here when I pasted that embed code will say that Henrico all right and we will publish all right so what's going on here I'm going to read I want to read this page remember this the page we started with pretty pretty doll not a whole lot going on with you we got happening now all right from the top here now we have this welcome Banner hero image that we added you no ads just a little bit controls the audience in here and write a really engaging image striking I had a decisive scribe button here to appoint people to the Subscribe button hey let's go ahead and subscribe there and I made these in Canada are we had its profile photo and some other information for us here some contact info as little about me a banner here for my classroom for my bio here down here or we had added those collapsible items people can hit that open those up and see those files pretty cool we have those Google classes that we add if your family wants to get another can click right there that photo hear my dog mod on the side we have my class schedule added that button here's people click that it will bring them to this page here and whatever you are all you added then come back here to my page and in the very last thing down here as this loads is my betta Twitter feature so it won't go through here and check out any tweets that I have added here all right I think it was just going to wrap things up for today we are here under the wire with a minute left.
