Hello everyone let's get started! Thank you so much for joining me today my name is Diandra Matos and I am a part of the client success team I'm here at Edlio. So today are webinar is going to be cover how to create engaging discussions and things with some of our Edlio communication tools. So today we will have a Q and A at the end of it if have any questions you can just drop them into the chat box and we will be happy to answer them. Okay so I am going to jump right into one of our admin sites here it's kind of display some of the things that we can do. Okay so if we jump into our admin site here you'll see that right up here we have a bunch of our features and tools that we can use for the webinar today I'm going to be jumping right into the news and alerts here and I'm going to show you how you can use the news and alerts to create a lot of content that you can send out a lot of different ways to keep your community engage with your sites, your schools, and your districts as well. So we jump here into the news and alert go right up in there and you will see here I've already created a news alert to use for the sake of the webinar but I'll click into that so we can kind of take a look and see here so when your building out a news alert there several different ways that you can create this news alert to kind of send out to your community so when you jump right into here you'll see you're going to have your headline that you can create so I've typed in keeping your community informed with Edlio communication tools which is the name of this webinar as well you're going to have a short summary that you can kind of illustrate what this news is about and then of course you can build out your content here. In the content box you can create whatever story or event that's going on something that maybe you want to make on a weekly basis so on and so forth you can kind of build that out entirely over here and then I actually used a site here, you can Source at the bottom you can stay where you're pulling the information and then you can have a feature photo here. I'll go back quickly to just show you what that form would look like if you were to create a new news and alert here so you would just click right into add news and then here you're going to have that those same components your headline your short summary and in this course your content box to build out a story or something that you want to create to engage your community whenever you feel the need to send something out. If we go back to the one I created prior just clicking here so you going to go into let's say this one here once we've created our story something that we want to send out I always recommend it's really nice when you have some pictures included some colors you can use within the content box as well anything that you feel you can kind of pull in parents or you know whomever you're sending this to administrators it's a nice way to kind of build things out so that you have a nice story here when you're sending it out. This feature you have the ability to either post this now, or post this at a later date and then you can also set an expiration date if it was something that was perhaps seasonal that you didn't need to have on your site long-term you also have that ability the expiration date here as well. With the story here once you create something that you want to engage with parents like I said maybe on a weekly basis you want to send out something for school events, or school happening you can go ahead and post it here, save. Now here is the beauty of our communication tools and how we can make things very easy to seamlessly get out of really nice story that you've built out to multiple channels very quickly. I will be going over each and every one of these to kind of give you a feel of how that work you put in to create a new story can come into play  for all these different channels that you can make sure that what you were sending out get seen and read by parents and anyone who participates in your school. Here will click first into newsletters and I'll run through that very briefly to show you what that would look like. Once your story is saved it's going to display in your news and alerts section on your page so that's something that's automatically there but if we click into newsletters you'll see here this newsletter automatically bring out a nice template for you to use. Let's say as your building out this newsletter you have right here you're keeping you're keeping your community informed. That is the component that you just created so it's right there for you. If you wanted to add additional news that you've created prior you can just click here into add news and can already click into anything else any other news and announcements you've created. Clicking into one, click into two and add these stories, move them around to create a nice newsletter components to go with this feature. You also have some other boxes here where you can kind of add some more details you can add some more pictures and then it once you're finished building this out you actually have the ability to preview this before you it sent out as a newsletter. You'll see here that news and announcement it's always going to pull up that first story of what you just created and then you can also include other things as well so when you're sending out a newsletter it can be something robust for all of the events and things that you've created prior to create a nice newsletter that gets sent to inboxes that parents are interested in reading and if you keep things on on a schedule you know you get parents excited to get these newsletters from your schools or from your Districts. I'm just going to zoom out of this very quickly so that I can go back in and show you another component here. If we go back the nice part about it is that as you're creating things with this news that you saved you can actually go through these individually and it's going to pop up a new window for each of them so you don't have to worry about you know losing where you are when you're kind of sending this out. The next component that I want to feature is going to be our apps alert. Our apps alert or something that you can send a notification to anyone who has the Edlio school news app installed on their phone. The school news app is something that you can have parents download directly to their smartphone and then what that is is when we click here into our app alerts you'll see this app alert is going to actually pop right up as a notification on someone's phone if they have the notifications enabled for the school news app here. You can keep that same message that you created from the news that you made you can change it and then you'll see the link here is going to bring you straight to that page that was created. Another really nice way of sending that out and I'll show you if anyone would like to see this an action if you download the school news app and you search for the school here at Edlio College Prep right now you can actually see what this notification would look like if anybody would like to do that in real time with me and kind of see that alert. If you do have it on your phone and then we click out send now here that's going to automatically come up as an alert on someone's phone if they have that displayed here. The nice thing about it is that when a parent lets a has a school news app and that alert goes out to their phone they're going to receive it immediately and then it's something that they can click into to read the article. It's a really great way to kind of highlight something and get it sent straight out the phones of anyone who has that app setup on their phone as well. Going back here we'll go back into Broadcast which would be our next one. Broadcast is a paid additional feature if you have any questions about Broadcast please reach out to your CSS we would be happy to give you some more information on that. I will click into it to just give little bit of a feel of how that works so when we click into Broadcast it's a mass communication tool so again with that same new story that we created we have it here for the broadcast keeping your community informed with Edlio communication tools and then you can click into how you would like this broadcast sent out. So for the sake of the webinar I'm not going to include the voice just to kind of give a little bit of a feel for how this works so we have the email and text included if we continue through this here this is a  very very easy way to send out the story again so here it is as an email you can choose who you're from some going to select myself I'm sending it from myself. You have your subject here you can add photos you can add more to the email you can make it however you want this email to be sent out on with our Broadcast feature you can actually add translations that will translate for you in real time so if they we want us to click in Spanish to be translated that will actually translate for you whatever you have within this text box and then if you open that up you'll see right here this is how it would look in Spanish if it got sent out as an email here. Again a nice feature is as you're building this you have the ability to preview your email before anything gets sent out and you can take a look what that would look like if you're sending out the email here so that is the email component here for Broadcast and then once the email goes out this link here is going to create right back to that story so you can have people click right back into it I'm so there's so many different channels of how you can get that message sent out and then down here if you scroll down to the bottom you can see again this is how your text message here would look on the text message very similar concept you'll have your subject line here and then you also have a link that's included within that to send someone right back again to that story and then here whatever you have up here for email is actually going to also have a translation down for text as well so the auto translations the really nice feature to reach out to as many parents as you need to here so if you click into that and we continue if you were a part of my last webinar it was actually about contacts list. So with contact list you would click in and you can build out contact list and send them out to a specific group of parents or contacts that you need to. Let's see here will just click into one of these Web Admins contacts are in that and it's going to send out those to those emails as well as the text messages as well so you have the send now option or send later option and then you can just go right in send and then that will be received pretty quickly. Now 
 let's cover the next component here which would be home page alerts. With home page alerts homepage alerts are very very simple you set a homepage alert for a specific time here and once you post that what that's going to look like if we click into the home page if I can open up in a new window here that would be your homepage alert. Very  straight to the point it's going to be something that as soon as someone goes on your page they're going to have to read into you know they can click into the don't show again but it will always pop up as the first thing and it gives someone the option to click into the story here and then again you'll have that component of what you created out so that they can visit this page here. And lastly we have social media manager. Social media manager is going to be a nice way to also include the story in any of your social media that you have connected to your account so I'm not going to push this out because if you see here on our homepage, here's our homepage alert again so we'll see okay you'll see here if we scroll down on we have this component here for our Twitter but I'm not going to post it there because we do use that pretty frequently but if we go back into where are we here,  your social media you can click right into whatever social media you have set up and then you can have that feature photo send it directly out to your social media so that's going to be sent out real time or you can even set it to a different time to post a little bit later and these are a lot of different Avenues where we can use these communications tools to keep people engaged so the more frequently you use some of these tools the more engagement you'll get they're all going to pull on people back to your sites so it's a really nice way to have kind of have a whole suite to be able to communicate with your parents students so on and so forth and they're all pretty simple and very easy to use just from creating that and all of that like I said would be found in the news and alerts here so very easy simple ways the kind of holistically send out information
