all right everybody thank you so much for joining us today for this my Atlee a webinar. My name is Danny and I am a member of the client success team here not today we are going to be talkin communication and all of the tools that we have in your area to reach your entire School community in the most effective way possible for back to school now we want our school communities to be engaged and invested in what we are doing as a school and let them know how we're in Richmond their children's lives so they can better help us to serve their needs it's a two-way street there any other communication tools built into the Ed Lee ocms can assist you in accomplishing that we are going to be covering quite a bit today I promise not to rush too much I want to make sure we're able to highlight everything that we're going to be discussing I had to push out important news and events to your site a homepage alerts the school news app contact list newsletters and broadcasts all right so let's get started all right now I'm here in the lcms I am working on the CMS you for Elio College Prep this site here all right now the first thing I want to do is push out some important news regarding back to school news alerts I can also get there by going to the hamburger drop-down menu announced news and alerts there to the top right corner and add some news alright so in this case would say we have a new principal at edlio college prep and we want to announce that this principle is doing a little sit-down to my coffee and donuts with the principal All rights are going to add our headline there we pick up here where we wants to play this new stupid going to Auto default here to news and announcements and that is going to show here on our home page if you have any other categories you know if you have any other spaces that you share news that you can go ahead and click those here add a short summary here all right down here we can either add a written content to your we can link to a file or link to an external paid when we go ahead here and just add text all right and if you want to add any sources there you can do that as well and also a attach a file or a photo when you go ahead and add a photo to this of the new principal here we go can add are all text or anybody using any screenwriters all right all right down here we can either schedule this story to I'll be published at a later date and time if we want and here we can choose whether or not we want to hide this story at a certain date and time as well as post this thing now okay that all right awesome so this story has been published let's go in and see what this looks like here all right there's our new store here we go to the other College Prep School homepage we scroll down there is our new story they're awesome very cool okay now let's go here we can find some other ways that we can announce this news first off social media manager when you click that if you have Facebook Twitter connected to your of your ideas seem as you can go and push this news out to your Twitter or Facebook feeds if you want so we have a Twitter account linked here all right and we had to automatically have the featured photo here at it as well as well as the message here aren't same thing as before we can choose whether or not we want to post this now or post later I see here will give you the character count as well you know so you can make sure you're not running against any sort of limits there if you want to add any other phone video things like that you can do that as well let's go ahead and post that now all right awesome just one more place you that we've got this news out to our school Community through our Twitter feed remember we want to get as eyes on this content as possible so whatever means we have to do that you know social media I definitely recommend doing that all right but we're come back over here now if we are to use social media manager to push that out via Twitter Anna next up I want to go ahead and create a homepage alert all right now what does is going to do is when somebody comes to visit your homepage they're going to get this homepage alert they're not going to able to access anything on this way unless they acknowledge homepage alert right it's going to go to pop up I will go check it out here in a second no one of our newer features here is displaying that featured photos that photo that I uploaded of principle donin there at it as part of his homepage alert that is a new feature uses the text there now we can add that photo as a little pop to it there are you know little more visually stunning to see that photo it looks really good in here and choose a date and time to go ahead and stop this homepage up humbler from running I already phones to 24 hours of this event happening next week and we want to make sure we have as many people visiting as possible will go ahead and reset it for next week all right and then I want you to get this homepage pop-up alert any option whether or not they want to move past it. Just acknowledge it or they can go ahead and click do not show again so they won't have to engage with it again what's going crate that alert all right awesome there we go no it's hot back over to the other college prep homepage all right I'm going to refresh there we go we have our homepage pop-up alert with our featured photo we either click up here just passed that we can read the full story or we can click don't show again down here pretty cool all right now we've got that in a few different spots now broadcast I'm going to cover that at towards the end hero cuz we were the last things I want to cover because it is an add-on product all right so next time we're going to go over here to push notifications now this push notification is in reference to the school news app by biblio it is available free to all of our school sites in our help center we have a a great helps an article here. I'll put in the description of this webinar as well as you can easily find it but with great instructional video here on how to use it how we even have a down here I'm going to get parents on the apps template email you can send out as well as this quick start guide here to get parents on the app just tells them how to install it and go and subscribe their child school so they can get notifications for any important news that you're pushing out like this one all right so I'll get I'll post this in the description of the webinar here checking this out I would have hopped back over here though so we can go ahead push this out alright send now all right very cool that has been sent to the school news app you can see here in the app what actually looks like here from parent's perspective on our phone display here pretty cool all right in the next up we are going to be taking a look at newsletters with select that automatically select the template for us that includes you're out your school news in a adds that new store you can go up here to add news and add other new stories that you've added to your site there and up here you can go in and add any text that you want here I only come up here and preview the newsletter give me an idea of what it looks like they're all right awesome or I'll come down here continued very cold snow I can select here who I want this to be sent from do I want this to be sent from me I didn't open the web and that's why we saw the picture of there before my personal profile Avatar but I want this one to be coming from edlio College Prep I'm so that way I will have got the school about the top here so I press preview news let her know we have our wonderful School logo there all right so we come back over there will come back somewhere we want this to be coming from the school in this case if you your teacher and you're sending out a newsletter to parents things like that it's a great way here to go ahead and send out to your personal Community if you want to do that but in this case were me send these out to the entire School Community this one here over here you can add contact list of choice all right now this is going to be coming from the CMS so you're going to have to have these already built out here if you don't already have a build that you can go and hear ad from CSV you can go ahead and ask you please get on first name last name email address things like that pretty easy to go ahead and update here you can add that CSV here also my going to announce then contact list that is where you can also add this contact list built out here let's see here with the Adar subject all right and we're coming down here the option here to allow the newsletter to be viewed publicly on our website know what this does is a on the newsletter itself it'll include a little public Link at the top email browser then go ahead and open it up and I'll open up as a page on your website where we can choose now to send now or send then send this one now and there we go we've sent this out to our school Community here pretty cool all right now the next up we're going to hop back over here again all right we've looked at all of these other features here but the last one I want to take a look at here is broadcast again it is an add-on feature so if you are interested in it please reach out to your client success specialist and if you're not sure who that is please reach out to client success at Elia. that with broadcast you are able to send out email text and voice communication to your entire School Community again using those contact lists we just discussed as the first thing you want to do is give your broadcast a name when you do it from this when you do it from news here when you're going from here it's automatically going to give it a name here to press continue all right now. We have our email here we can choose which email address this is coming from unkey songs put my alright then we Auto defaults the subject to the title of your on the headline of your your news article come down here with the content here and then gives us a link to read the story on the site and also a translation down here the translation is important to note especially with the text feature right you're adding that translation you're adding more characters so it might take up more credits when I sending this out I just wanted to know translation tool very robust very very neat sad to see here are we have a bunch most horrible with a text option limited amount on voice but a lot here available with text translation All rights we have that ready to go I didn't down here we can either set this up so I can put in my phone number right now will go ahead and give me a call I can record a voice message that will go out to our school Community or I can send this using our text to speech ocean here alright me to do that right now click continue and then same thing as before we go ahead and enter our contact list there then send them send out or send later we're going to send that now and look at that we just got out an email a text and a voice call to our entire School community in under a minute and a half here is a very very powerful tool to use very intuitive you know again if you're interested in it reach out client success specialist they'll give you more information on getting you set up with that all right so what are the last things I want to look at it here so come over or back over here cuz I want to go ahead and copy this URL for our next feature here all right so when I come up here to the hamburger drop-down menu I want to go ahead and add a homepage widget off of this information as well just one more place for people to view this information when you come down here to page management home page widgets very cool here you can see the ones that we already have with on the page let's go ahead I think we don't need these anymore so I can go ahead delete these Mercedes changes all right cool either at a forum or a button widget I want a d button with you all right there we go all right now we have to give a the label name here so we'll say coffee and donuts principal Donal at a link to that new story which is the weather to add in a new tab on the same window and down here position you need to have it moved with the page two as you scroll down you see that the stays in place their orbit 6 of the window as your schooling for the page it's going to stay in that same position all right very cool and then down here you can choose the style these are pulled from the primary what is from your school websites design their right to go that one very cool we just save successfully back to our home page and we see this we'll go ahead by that we have are widget there opens up instead new story and down here we have it in our news and announcements section here a pretty cool all right now I think I was going to wrap things up for today or if you have any questions or concerns please reach out to your client success specialist time if you're not sure who that is please reach out to client success at at Leo. how many we will be happy to point you in the right direction I also always highly recommend coming to the Elio help center.
