welcome welcome welcome so glad to have all of you here today first and foremost Happy Teacher Appreciation Week we so appreciate everything that you do even if you're not in the classroom anymore we know that the job is Board of the teachers and your students my name is Doctor rolling Rios I am the edlio customer relationships manager I just retired after 30 years of public education and I went to work for the great folks from Ed Leo and I'm joined by a wonderful member of our marketing team Jess all I just introduced herself hi my name is Jeff Cook and I am not Creative Marketing Manager here at at and prior to that I have about eight or nine years experience teaching English from Seventh through 12th grade God bless you we're so happy that you joined us here are making back to school supply shopping easier in the next 30 minutes or so we'll start with just a little bit of information about Supply listen teacher was and how that works with lyrics to my deals on how you going to use it and then we're going to jump right into the backyard I'm going to show you how to upload these supply list and how to publish them on your edlio site at any time if you have questions please ask those of the human dissection Danny will get those to us right away I just wanted you to start so you know feels a little weird to be line for this year at this point but how I've been in this situation I know that you know when I was a teacher once Summer started I really wanted a minimal to do list and a nice actual break from the job responsibilities and thinking about school so being able to check something off my best early like school supplies would have been really helpful to me and it also helps new hires you know you might be hiring for positions right up until that school year starts and it's helpful not to then immediately throw at them 47 things that they need to do for the first day of school and then of course you know parents and family members they want lots of time to shop because school supplies can be expensive especially if you have multiple kids so posting and sharing your list early means that they have all summer to put those supplies together and they're not scrambling to do it right at the last minute so why make your supply lifted a lot of what we do now we did in our district as we've simply put up static list PDF copies open WhatsApp and download them carry those off to the nearest store and have do their shopping online shopping is the preferred shopping method for the majority of American adults I am one of them I spent too much money on Amazon already just today need to stop but it makes it just so very convenient we're going to refer to supply list of those we call a teacher list we partner with teacher lists and we have someone with the drawers watching us walking walking jump using that partner that we have a teacher was parents can add to the cart for major retailers so they go and get an interactive they're going to get it the static list but there's going to be some interactive buttons on the side through some major retailers like Amazon and Target and Staples Lowes. things that they want to they can simply add the entire list into their car and say send it my way they're done what a wonderful way to shop I will tell you I got grandchildren now last this year they started school we wanted to take him shopping I understand that we wanted to take him and help him pick out their supplies were over that in one year didn't they just locked so if their school offered this I would put that but nothing they can do sugar entire guard take a look at the price of individual items and they may think one of them had it to a different card from a different vendor and now that we kind of pick and choose where I'm going to get each one of these supplies so they can do comparison shopping extremely easily you have a digital supply list just came up with some really creative ways not just teacher supply list what else can you do with supply list just so this is a great opportunity I know a lot of times you'll have questions from Community leaders Business Leaders and are you saying you know how can I help how can I support the school what do you need and so beyond just you know Miss Cook 7th grade English supply list you can have all of those other teachers at your school the art teacher the guidance the library and the music teacher make their own sort of wish list of supplies that they would love to have to use with their students throughout the year and then people in your community or parents can purchase those items and have them shipped to the school as a donation so you know the school nurse all those little things that she gives out like the snacks in the peppermints that just make those kids feel a little bit better the library and can have fun prizes for reading contest bookmarks sticky notes I'm the gym class might really love to have a few new dodgeballs this year some fun games and prizes that they can use the art teacher you know they're running through paper and paint brushes like crazy every year and replenishing supplies really help the music teacher might be their opportunity to get creative with some fun and wacky instruments that the kids can play in class or extra sheet music and things like that the guidance counselor could have supplies for art therapy journaling prompts meditation exercises even just something simple like a classroom first aid list every teacher to get one if you got enough donations with bandages thermometers hygiene supplies that teachers usually stock anyway but I know personally I was buying a lot of that out of my own walk it every year so this would help to support that adopt a student would be where you just put a standard set of supplies on to one list and then people from your community can donate those supplies for the students were going to come on the first day of school without anything with them and then I know a lot of schools I've been in have had a just-in-case cabinet where they would put snacks can good for kids to take home on weekends extra clothing when somebody steals their chocolate milk for themselves at lunch little items like socks and toothbrushes that just don't always get replenished at home as fast as they should and then of course I would be remiss as a former teacher if I didn't say but together a little teacher treat wishlist if you know you can just put the prizes in the Teachers Lounge we so often with the items that you received from that list awesome ideas just a really like that being creative really jump right into the back and we're going to see now is how you navigate to the supply list picture where that on your dashboard how to upload your supply list those dudes that's a really easy okay doll easy but it gets a little tricky when you try to publish those supply list to your side I'm going to show you around I don't navigate to that Atta Atta to navigation bar soap he's going to be assessed from the from the main page had added as a web story at broadcast it out if you're using our broadcast module and then how do you add a a late maybe just to a teacher page or a door to a class page I guess it don't worry if you get pulled away this is going to be recorded on The Help Center the recording will be there and again submit your questions through the Q&A panel and I'll try to keep an eye on those and Danny can I also read them out and and get to me as we jump. you want to make a note of this and just maybe you can put this into the chat we did create a very nice list of resources for you so that you can easily let your teachers know that you'll be using this this year let your parents know we've got a landing page with a video how to Flyers email templates we've already written your emails for you to share with staff and parents a social media Graphics that you can post if you want to put something out on your website. article that I wrote for you and the link to the help center so all of that is there for you and we always have you covered with our client success team so let's get out and get into business here I am on a demo site that we have this did Miguel School District this is a district site and I'm logged in as as the admin to hear you're going to find supply list in a couple of ways one you're going to see the big one right here on your dashboard you can always is use the hamburger menu as well to get to supply list right here so we can navigate over to supply lists and we're going to click on that what this is going to do is bring up a list of any supply list associate with your school okay so you're already going to see all of them there we're going to come back to this cuz this is where we share list and do some other things but first let's talk about how do I get a list up there to begin with the top until to be right here uploaded manage lists I'm keep a list again our supply list we partner with teacher list the wonderful folks out there we're going to click on teacher list this is what you can do as an administrator you can have your teachers walk through the steps teachers a lot of Acts upload their own individual ones you may have grade levels you can ask you if DLCs to do this for you or your department chairs or whoever this takes them to the teacher list power loader we're going to select a school now if for some reason you do not cease the playlist active on your side contractor your client success specialist because we have to have a specific number identified at the tax ID number or something like that I am and once we do that then you'll see that list you'll see the supply list feature I turned on for you I'm going to type in the zip code of our sample school if they knew zip code 9 9 9 9 9 9 and there is play down here somewhere Miguel High School you would find your school from though if you want to make sure it's associated with the right School District or the right schools to make sure you take that carefully we say next make sure it's not already uploaded this is a nice feature. Like I said maybe you've got a grade level lesson someone's trying to upload the 5th grade supply list or like a somebody already did that so they got to make sure it's not in there already okay if it's not we're going to continue to upload my list it's as simple as dragging a pre-existing list up there so you're going to pray this list first you going to do it in with Google Docs and save it as a PDF or download it as a word file it can be a image file it can be just about anything that can be play a human being the real select a file to upload when we go to my desktop and there is dr. Reyes his Algebra 1 class supply list it is already been uploaded to this school I practice this yesterday so we're going to select a different while this is an image I have no idea what this images, open it in front of you but where you pretend it's a picture of my supply list is this replacing an existing Lester's that new I'm going to say it's new is this list Evergreen is this not going to change year-to-year or is this just Pacific for 2324 I'm going to may say it yes it's Evergreen and I have three of those classes and we are going to say next it's going to ask you to sign in or register okay I already have an account so I'm going to Quick sign in here passwords stored I use one password for everything we're going to login is going to ask if you if you have some generic items would it be okay for us to list a trusted brand instead if you do they will donate dollar to kids of need so that's up to you I'm going to say yes and that's it I have uploaded it now you're going to say we were going to see if we receive your lest they should be right interview within 48 Hours sometimes people ask why does it take so long why is it I take 48 Hours once it is uploaded as an actual human being a teacher with a wonderful human being cuz those guys are they actually take that list and they create these digitized list okay if they are hand entering the sub their tracking there were two matching items to all the different vendors that you're going to be able to see you will get an email saying it's on the process you'll get another email site it's done and it's ready once it is ready it will appear in this list geisa once your teachers get that email they will then see it on this list but it does take a little bit of time and that's the reason there's actually human beings doing we got this list what are we doing are we going to make them magically appear somewhere on our website is a couple of ways to do it I'm going to show you first how you can use some of the edlio features to publish these lets out I'm going to start my all of the lists and then we're going to share the entire is why would you do that or maybe you just want them all in one place where you can parents can very easily say sees all of her school supply list and they're all going to be on one page someone's about to share list this one up here in the upper right this is how we share all of them there's a couple of things we could do we could just copy the link this might be a fun that a good thing to do if you're going to call and then send it out to social media are you on I put it on a poster or something okay I'm going to show you how to add it to the website to the site navigation right number the site navigation to your pull-down menus up at the top so I'm going to click add to stop navigation and Leos going to do the magic for you and take you straight to the site navigation page it is going to drop it down to the very bottom all right I'm going to rename this digital supply list it's like when people are looking for what you look away for all classes Now by default and put it in the last pull-down menu I don't want under contacts I'm going to grab this and I going to drag up your I got dragged up driving up I'm going to keep dragging and dragging and see where we should put it let's put it let's keep going on where are we here not on our home spray and I apologize I wanted it under students under a whole bunch of different ones you can put it in multiple places if you want to go right now it's going to exist under students you'll notice because we use that Cher was it automatically shows beat your page and it automatically selected supply list so does all that work for you which is great now we're going to hit save about a bing bada boom let's go out to the sites go out to Miguel when I go to the students button there is digit supply list for all classes I just added it it's magically there I'm going to click on that and there is the listing of all of the supply list all right here's what it looks like when they click on one let's go to this 5th grade supply list they're going to see Ever sing they need a those Magic Buttons I can grab everything up better than Amazon I'm done I can go to Target I can go to Staples or like I said earlier added to the card and then pick and choose which items I want to see I wish I can we do it again alright alright and close that up all right let's go back to list so I want to start again I'm going to come get Cheryl this button again I added it to the site navigation it's nice to have it there okay but people may not realize it's up there unless you add a news article on your website so I'm going to click add to news it's going to do just like it did for the navigation but take all that information is going to open up my news in the workspace like you guys are used to doing when you go to add music on an estimate and look what it's done it is magically out of the headline for you a short summary for you and content for you. wonderful content manager just cook but together for you okay you can edit this all you want okay but it's going to put the story in there and it actually puts the link to that page we just saw this one a ride it is going to put a link did this page okay this right here is what it automatically put in the story you can tweak this all you want okay you can add a file if you'd like for a photo and if you need some photos there on that Resource page once we do that we just clicks want to come back here to this is due to the Miguel website I come down here I keep hitting the somebody put a pop-up Alert in our demo let's refresh this I'm looking for it I you know what I didn't have an image so it's not showing up here but you get the idea it would have popped up but again it does all the work for you which is great and K coming back here again this is sharing all the list of all right if you use broadcast which I hope you do you can click on broadcast this. Gives you the ability to share this information via the elderly or broadcast channels if you subscribe to our broadcast you can send email text and voice if you don't then that won't be available for you but you can push up notifications through the school news app or if you have linked to your social media is going to have those social media options for you so let's push it out to Twitter and Facebook real quick I'm not going to follow through with Virginia and again the message is already written for you okay with links to it all you got to do is hit continue going to go out to Facebook and social media simple is that alright and then finally if you want to put it in your knee if you're usually are at Leo newsletter feature you going to click on that is going to start a news letter for you and is going to Pace this message into one of the templates that you chose I'm not going to go through all the stuff to your butt is going to add it in there and then you can send it out to a contact list so that's how you can show the many ways that you can share that out now let's say you just want to put and on a single page all right I'm going to stay in this window for now and again just to remind you I got to this window by coming down here clicking on supply list and I've got the entire unless Leslie I just want to the first grade supply list all right we're going to use the little three dots you know it's always food analogies with many of you bought and I guess if this is a hamburger this would be a shish kabob laying down how's that look up for that dress that'll work okay I'm going to go pick up my shift Kabob and we're going to clickshare list here instead of the scherlis way up here the only difference was really all the oil changing is the link that set up a shop all right we can still copy the link and push this app for the webpage for the QR code for it whatever you want to do we can add that directly to the site navigation again it would be for this specific let's not all of us agree that this specific list to a new story send this up to a broadcast for a newsletter okay that's how you would do it individually I want to show you two more why is my camera got really fussy for some reason I did not get fuzzy I promise we'll turn off my video turn it back on real quick Crystal Clear once again to a page I'm going to come back here to my work where you at Paige's and I'm going to go to my personal page and write let's say I'm a teacher I've got meet dr. Rios here I would probably have some content up at the top or just going to pretend like there's a bunch of Gothic I type really really fast it's just I do it in my own language and I'm the only one that understands so who is Paige in a lot of your used to updating these Pages whether it's a departmental page of personal page if we click add their supply list isn't that wonderful medical supply list right there Let's Pretend This was the one that's dr. Rios has algebra class is it not quite ready yet choose that one guy I click save and just like that I put a link on my personal for this for this supply list all right okay I'm going to do some one more thing I'm going to click on that cuz this is going to take me to the page and it's going to give me the URL when you go back here okay I'm going to go back to my dashboard remember I told you earlier you could always copy a don't think I'm going to copy the link to this 5th grade supply list now I'm going to go back to Pages cuz I'm going to show you two more ways then the goddess link copy not going to go back to my personal page I think this is a really cool way to do it way to go back to this meet dr. Rios page this is nice you have to link it looks all right all right but if I really want to get fancy I'm going to use the add button feature in at Leo I would like add button is going to give me a nice little button that I can put spell my oh my goodness gracious I'm going to trying to get to where I add the URL not working for me I love it when things don't work as people are watching or do I get to just need to replace that right there and now we're going to save that so now we got a nice looking butt in here you got to take me to that supply list you can actually do it one other way I'm going to go back to my main page here I'm going to add a second page okay see how they meet dr. Reyes and they had the second page remember when you add pages to personal Pages or departmental pay just one of the things you can do is smoke weed like to another page link to another page we're going to call this doctor what I'm doing here is adding it to the Navigator on the right hand side because now I have multiple pages so when I go out here to this public link so this is the first one I added this is the second one I added just the only thing I did different is copy the link and use the button feature and this is the third one I had that were on the me dr. Rios page and I added it as a navigation as well three different ways to add it to a single page lots of ways to get it into your navigation and share out with others okay that's all I have on me.
