thank you so much for joining us today for our top 5 admins frequently asked questions hopefully I'm able to answer one of your questions that you might have on your mind I did pull our technical support questions some of the ones that we get asked frequently the first one I'm going to go over is a question we get quite often is that wise my page not showing in the same navigation or it's showing a 404 or a can't find the page I usually that 404 happens when a page is either deleted or move one section to the another section or it's I'm published if you unpublish a page it does get hidden from public View so if you're in your pages and do you see a page that says I'm published for example if I go publish this one you will see a little red a little circle with a line through it that means that a Pages unpublished this page is connected in your site navigation and somebody click on the links see the 404 message so whenever you make any changes to your pages and you have to make sure to check your site navigation to either update the link or remove it if it's a page that has been deleted on the flip side of that if you're lean on your page and your page is not automatically added to your site navigation navigation and the pages are completely independent of each other the reason that you don't see every single page that gets created on your Titus custom schools might have hundreds of pages so these drop them would get pretty big quite quickly so if you create a new page you do have to go to your site Navigation says go to site management sign up want you to navigation loads this is where you can edit at delete any links you you want to have on your page usually you can only link you should be able to link to the fur page of a section and then on the side menu your visitors will be able to see all of the other corresponding pages with it there is no specific way to lay out your site navigation it is entirely up to each this you can have links from different sections and one of the drop-down you can have a link to any page you want again is entirely up to you but if you're wondering why your pages in showing of your additives pages and it's not showing on the say navigation it's because it has to be added manually same thing if you delete the page again you have to make sure you update your site navigation the next question we get a lot also is why is a formatting my text that I copy and pasted from a Word document or any other site not displaying correctly sometimes when you copy and paste text even if it's from Google if it's from Microsoft Word or anything like that are you from another site sometimes text Will Carry certain styles with it once when you copy it such a simple fix for that one is once you put text on a page if stay for example I would have copy and pasted this text on the side of might look a little bit bigger and I look like a different it might not look like all the other text that's on the page very simple fix is just to highlight whatever it takes you copy and paste it and click on the clear formatting this a remove any files that may have been carried over from where were you copy the text and it should make it conform to any of the styles that are for your site that was a very simple fix. can I wait to get quite often the next question is why can't I edit or delete other web admin accounts for your if you're listed on top right here where it says website administrators you do have access to everything on the page of the website administrator the only one thing you cannot do is edit other website administrators this teacher at Leo I'm using I can't believe any of these other website administrator I can't delete any user is a regular user the listed below users I can't delete any of these here as a website administrator but otherwise I cannot delete the only account that can delete other website administrators or create other website administrators is SuperAmerica that is wrong with the username admin so this is the only account that can create or delete other website administrator we recommend. Leo that is not assigned to one particular person if it it should be assigned to you at least two or three people that have the password and this account we don't recommend to be used for day-to-day editing and adding pages because the only difference between these these accounts here and the super out of my account again is the ability to create or delete any other website administrator so if you have a regular website administrator account that's not the admin you have access to absolutely every single page every single feature the CMS has so if you're ever wondering you to update your website administrator's you do have to have a login for the super admin account next question that we get a lot is hydrated a redirect if you notice a lot of pages that we have on our sites it has a very quite long URL that might not look very appealing in a print or an email that you might want to send out so for example this is our admissions process of page and if I wanted to create a say you are all the said edlio school.com admissions slash that can be created on your CMS and can can be created any time I'll buy any website administrator so we have to do is go to your and insights are your menu page management and then redirect so there is no limit to how many redirects you can have a repeat so you can have / admission / more than one direct and I want to say I want this URL admissions I keep in mind that it does have to end with a slash this is a limitation of the system that it does need to enter the slash when you always make sure you add the slash at the end the redirect is the redirect you get from from the page you have to copy the URL taste it here and click save psoriasis says that you have another your L1 call that mission so if I go back to my site for the homepage and I were to type in my URL at Mission / mission it gets redirected should have page that I enter the URL for so this is a lot easier like cleaner to put in a email printable share anything that you want to type it's a lot easier to remember as well so you don't have to remember what the long URL is with all the characters so that's how you create I rejoin again how many you can have they just cannot repeat the same word at the end the next one is how do I edit the main Shuffle most sites have a shuffle feature on the homepage there is a question is is I don't know where I don't know how what size images have to place so we're going to go ahead and cover that on your side if you go your menu down to Media you will see shovels now your side depending on the design of your site you might have more than one some schools at one main one of the top and a small one that has two small ones at the bottom or the top depends on how your side was I always have one major or at the top so you got to pick the correct one. I only have one so it's the home page Maine they click on it I'll see all the images at that are currently in my Shuffle there is no limit to how many marriages you can have in the shuffle icing Penny schools that have 30 40 50 pictures so there is a limit to how many you can have if you click on the upload media inside the shuffle Dimensions listed here now this is a recommended photo size if your 4 is a little bigger than that are shuffleboard crap out of I can be edited which will show you in a minute but this is a recommended size also the most shuffles because of screen layouts or upload a picture that portrait that means that it's taller it's taller than it is wider or Shuffle will stretch that picture out to make it fit the entire Shuffle so portrait images are not recommended you will get a very fuzzy image but it's stretched out if we do get a lot of questions saying why am I upload this picture and it's not working correctly is not seeing displaying correctly most likely it's because you're trying to upload a portrait style picture into a landscape layout picture should be no wider than they are taller so sad a new image click upload media let me get a image here skinny don't you upload your picture because I didn't click on it and then you have a couple options for the top you have crop so this is a part that's going to display on the homepage to the highlighted part here you can move it up and down so if you want to get the kids you can put it wherever you want to drag and drop it always make sure you click save the other option have here is a link so you can I'm linked the entire image to make a clickable and have a direct to a certain page some schools to get creative events that are happening at the school and some of the graphics to the shuffle and have them link to a page that has more information about the event so that's an option you can have it all so you just have to answer the address that you want to link to you do have also a caption you can add here and then you can also move the caption position and the last one is always out ultimate X is very important for 88 friendliness that it means if anybody that's using a special screen reader or anything like that to your site they will can a description of the image very very quick description once you're done editing making all your changes you can just go ahead and click save you can also rearrange the images by drag dropping them and to delete an image is very easy just go ahead and click the little trash can confirm you want to delete the image and images gone and I will make sure you click save so your changes will be reflected on the life site at the bottom you have a slide transitions these are a couple things you can change on your slide you can also weather navigation position is you can't change the direction that the duration of the shuffle so how long it takes between each image We cannot put it short few seconds pretty quick the longer you have it obviously belong picture stays on the screen you can also pick the fade you want you can have a random randomly choose a different transition between images or you can pick a specific one if you have a prep and again always make sure you could safe to make save any changes you have made so those are our top five questions but it's quite a bit especially around beginning of the school year and that is a turn what are terms and why do we need them are available to trade by any website administrator your classes so if you go you will see that you have all the TransPass terms and current terms and it actually tells you that in order to have a class added by any of the teachers or by yourself there has inactive term listed for your site so if you ever have a special the beginning of the year you have a question from one of your teacher saying my icon of my classes that website is saying that I need to have current active term means that somebody forgot to put the active term so you should recommend that the term last the entire year and we also recommend that the term gets started a little bit before the first day of school and and a little bit after the first day of the last day of school sorry the reason we recommend that is because if you wait to start the trim until the first day of classes your teachers going to be able to add any classes to the website until the first day of class and we all know that the first day of school it's pretty crazy at any school you go to so you give them at least a week or two before the beginning of the school year so I have enough time to go ahead and pay for the first date a school also if you and the term at the very last day of school they won't have any time to be able to get anything they want to get from the classes because usually when the term ends the classes that they have for that charm arcade in from The View on the live site so you should recommend a few weeks before you turn name the term you could be school year 2018-2019 you know what a personal preference again and just go ahead and click on it and click on the counter again and pick an end date and just go ahead and click save now there can only be you cannot you can schedule multiple but they cannot overlap so you could create a turn for the school year and if you want to go ahead and get a jump on next school year you can go ahead and create the one for the next year but just make sure that the dates do not overlap and one one day and begin the next on the very next day so these are terms and they're very important especially if you have a lot of teachers who are very active and adding to the website they will need to have a account again if you ever get a question I don't have a term you need to create one very
