Hello, everyone! Thank you so much for joining us today today! Today we will be covering how to create your teacher pages. We also have a technical support representative in the chat today who can answer any question that you may have as we go along. The webinar is being recorded and will be accessible to everyone in the help center. So let's go ahead and get started. So I am going to sign in as a teacher right now. So when we sign in depending on what rights you have been given, you're going to see the following which is your dashboard. On your dashboard you can click on your icons here or you can go to your hamburger drop down menu and also access all of the modules that we have for you. A few areas that I wanted to cover for everyone is under Account, we have Profile. Profile is where you can go in and click on Edit your profile and let's say that you needed to change your first name or your last name, maybe you recently had a name change. You can go ahead and change that here. If your email was for some reason is incorrect you can go ahead and change that here as well and then you can go ahead and save. Another option that you have as well is on your Teacher Page you can place a photo of yourself. Now, Teacher Pages are accessible through the Staff Directory which I'll show you once we start creating the pages. So this photo would also show in the Staff Directory and on your Teacher Page. So if you wanted to add a photo we would click on the pencil icon here you can drag-and-drop from your desktop or you can click on Select a Photo and I'm just going to select from my computer here. I'm going to click crop and save so now my photo has been added and you can also see it under the account here as well. The next quick areas as well will be the Help Center which everyone has access to the Help Center. This is an additional resource if you ever want to go in and get help on any of our features. So you will just click on it here and you can even click on Help Articles and it will list all of our features that we have available for you and your next option for support, as well, is contacting Edlio support. So if your site has not launched yet, if you are not live you will not see this option but if your sites are live you would be able to click on Contact Edlio Support and when you scroll all the way down you'll see that your hours are preset to your timezone so you can either call with any issues that you have or you can always submit a case as well. A handy little tip is if you ever want to go back to your dashboard you can click on your school name and it'll take you right back to your dashboard here. So let's go into creating our Teacher Pages. I am going to go to the hamburger drop down here and let's go to Page Management and Pages first. Now I haven't added any pages that is why I am not seeing anything listed here. If you have already been working on this you may see your pages here already but since I have not added anything what I want to do is go ahead and click on Add Page and you'll see that I have a variety of options here. The first thing we want to do is to start with a blank page. So we'll click on blank page here and you always want to make sure that you title your page so let's say this was my bio for example. On your page what you'll see is under Add, you have the option to add as much content as you'd like, as many photos, and you can even add files on your page. You can reuse these options as many times as you'd like to. There is no limit and you can create as many pages as you would like to as well. Let's start with content. So when I click on content here you'd be able to enter your text. You can make this a collapsible item and I'll show you another way with which to use that. I'll leave this one as is. You'll see that you have some formatting options up top. You can go ahead and 'bold,' you can 'italicize.' You have some formatting options listed here. You can do bullet points. You can even add numbers. You can also go in and change the color of your font as well. Another great option is that you can hyperlink as well so if you don't want to put large links or longer links on the page, you can highlight a keyword, click on your hyperlink option, and you can place the text that you would like to display here so once I click save this will now be clickable. For those of you who like to embed you can use the source code option here. All you need to do is place that source code here and click on 'Save.' You'll also see that you have a clear formatting option. This is great if you're copy-pasting something over to the site. You may see that the font is acting up, acting little funky it doesn't match. This would be great to use where you would just select all of your text and clear the formatting so it gets rid of any issues that are happening with the text. You also have some font options here as well. You can also add videos if you'd like and then another option as well is you can insert in-line images so when you click on insert image I am going to select my profile photo here and we always want to make sure that we are putting for ADA purposes, our alt text on the image. And we'll click on save. You'll see that my photo has been added here and what I can do as well is I can choose the image to be left-aligned, right-aligned or I can even have the image centered. Another great thing as well is if you wanted to hyperlink images so it acts as buttons on your page. If you select like your image you can also click on hyperlink here and place in your URL and your image will now be clickable as well. Your next option is adding photos With the photos, by default it is set to 'rotate' which means it'll go through slowly like a slideshow and parents or students can even pause and resume the rotating gallery. Or you can have the images stack under each other and you'll always see that you're accepted file types for the images are listed below. So I'll just select a few photos here to show you what this looks like. And since we have it turned on to remind us to place our Alt Text it's going to remind me that it's missing on the images so we would click on the image and you just want to be very general with your Alt Text here. Now once you have added your images here let's say we've completed our options here you also have the option where if you wanted to add a direct caption on the photo, you can do so as well. Then your last option here would be adding your file. So when I click on files here, it'll tell you that our accepted file type is any but one thing to note is if you have a PDF you can directly embed this on your page. So maybe it was the syllabus or a list of supplies for the class and you wanted them to see it directly on the page instead of parents or students downloading the file, you have that option. The way that we do that is under 'Upload.' I'll go ahead and select a sample PDF is that I have here. If you leave it as is, it's just going to place the file on the page. If you want to embed it on your teacher page that is when you would click on the three dots. Under display options you can choose what size you would like this to display in. So we'll go with the largest option here and then you'll see that it places the entire PDF on the page. Now what I want to do now is make sure that I click save so I don't lose any information. I'm also going to go ahead and click on 'Publish' because we want this go on the website we want everyone to be able to see it. I'm going to go to the actual website and under About, we want to go to our Staff Directory. This may be placed somewhere else on your website but to access your teacher page you need to go to the staff directory and I'm going to search for my name here and you'll see that my profile photo has been added. Once I click on my name you're going to be able to see everything that I placed on my page here so you'll see that if I click on Updates it'll open to link if I hover over my photo because I made it clickable you'll be able to open and then if we scroll down you're going to see the following gallery and you'll see that you can pause and resume. Our last item we had placed on the page was that syllabus so you can scroll through and parents can even choose to download the PDF as well. Now, I'm going to flip back to our admin site and there's a couple more things that I wanted to cover here if we go back to the hamburger drop down menu, under plan you'll see that you also have calendars available maybe there was events that you wanted to share with your parents. You can click on calendar here and you would need to manually add your events. The way that you manually add is by clicking on 'Add Event.' Under Title let's say we had a class test for example and this was going to be on Monday the 23rd and it's going to be from 10 to 11. You have the option to make things an all day event or you can have them repeat so maybe you had this test monthly, you could choose to do so as well. You can add your location. If you have any additional details you needed to add you can go ahead and do so here. If there was a link you wanted to provide to parents or students you can also add one as well. Then you have the option to attach a file or photo to the event. Now, once you click on save you'll see that your event has been saved. Now what happens here on your actual teacher page is when we refresh you're going to see that calendar is now being listed because you added an event. So when we click on calendar you're going to see the events listed here if you click show calendar you'll be able to get a full monthly view and parents and students can print out the calendar. And you also have the option of cooking show all events. So now let's go back to our hamburger drop down menu and under 'Plan' you'll see the option of 'Facilities' Now with 'Facilities' if you don't see anything listed it's because the school is not using it. If there was shared facilities that you could sign up for like a computer lab or maybe taking out time in the library this is where you would be able to come and click on the three dots and choose to reserve a facility. If you are not seeing this option it just means that the school might not be using it. Now your next option here under 'Announce' is 'Contact List' and 'Email Sender.' So let's go to our contact list first What you will see automatically under 'Contact Lists' is your name and it will say personal page. Now what this is here if you flip back to your teacher page, if anyone clicks on subscribe here, what this is going to do is it's going to populate all of the contacts here. In addition to the subscribe option, you also have the option to upload as many of your lists as you'd like. Maybe you have a master list of all of your parents or you teach a few grade levels and you wanted to upload separate lists for each of the grade levels. You can add as many contact lists as you'd like. All you need to do is click on 'New List' and let's say this was First Grade Parents. When you click on add this is where if you had a few contacts to add you can use this add single contact option. If not we always offer the option to add in bulk. Now when you click add in bulk, you can download our CSV template, place the contact information, and then upload the file here. So that'll go ahead and upload all of the contacts that you placed here. And 'Contact Lists' ties in to 'Email Sender' which allows you to send out emails to the parents or even to the students if you would like to so when you click on 'Email Sender' you would be able to click on 'New Email' here and you'll see that there are templates that have been created here for you so let's say you had an update about a class quiz or some homework that was coming up. We're going to choose this template here and I'm going to click on continue under 'Recipients' you'll see that you can manually add your contacts. If you click add existing this is where it would pull from when we were under contact list so if you had your list populated here you would be able to select as many of them as you would like to. Then you also see the options again to add from CSV maybe you hadn't uploaded your list yet on your contact list but you wanted to do so here again you could download that CSV and drop the file here. Then it'll prompt you to place your subject so maybe we had a "Class Test Update." You can go ahead and enter in your information here you'll see that you can also hyperlink and you can even embed if you would like to and this is where you'll see that clear formatting option if your copy pasting information over. Then you have the option to 'Send Now' or 'Send Later.' Maybe you were working on this email ahead of time, what you can do is you can choose to send it at a later date. You'll always have the option to save and exit as a draft. If this was ready to go all you have to do is click on 'Send' and another great thing to know as well is you can always preview what the email looks like before you send it out. All you have do is quick preview email and it'll show you that any of the content that you placed will show here and parents can always manage their email prefernces. I'm going to return to message and if this was ready to go, I would just go ahead and click on send now. Now let's go back under our hamburger drop down menu and I want to go under 'Classes.' So this is going to be great for anyone that's possibly working remotely or you wanted to add your classes for your students to be able to maybe get assignment or see any possible updates. So what you can do here is, first an admin at the school needs to make sure that it current term is set so as a teacher you can go in and add your classes. Now what we would like to do here is click on 'Add a Class' and you have two options. You can manually add your class so let's say this was for Math. I could write a description here-- Math 101 beginners. You can even attach files here as well maybe you had work assignments or a syllabus that you wanted to add along with a class supply list. You can manually add your class so I'll just go ahead and click on save here and you'll see that now my math class has been added. Now the second option that you have is if you click on 'Add Class' if the admin at the school has turned on the option to connect your Google Classroom account, what you could do is click on connect and it's going to prompt you to log in with your Google credentials and choose the classes that you would like to bring over to your teacher page. So that way if I go back to our teacher page and I refresh you'll see that when I scroll down it's going to have my classes listed here and if it was a Google Classroom it would have the Google Classroom green icon next to it and parents or students would be able to click on it and they would still need to login to access the information but you can connect as many of your Google classes as you would like to here but if you go the manual route this is what it would look like here and parents can even subscribe just to classes if they don't want to subscribe to your entire teacher page. Under our hamburger drop down menu we also have the option for you to share any album that you would like to maybe it's just pictures of the classroom or you had gone on field trips and wanted to share that with your parents and your students but either option you would click on the feature here. Now what we want to do is create an album and let's say this was a health class for example Again, it will list the accepted file types for you. We want to click on upload, you'll see the same four options of where you can pull your photos from. I'm just going to select a few here. Once it's done uploading you want to make sure that you click 'See your photos' and you'll see that again since we have the Alt Text feature turned on it requires us to place the Alt Text for ADA purposes so we want to go ahead and click on the image and add the Alt Text. You can click on next here to go to your next photo. So once this has been completed as you can see again if we refresh the page what it's going to do is it's now going to add a photo album area on your page as well so when we click photo album any album that you place will be listed in alphabetical order. If you date them numerically it'll have the dated album first and then it'll follow in alphabetical order but you would be able to click on the album and scroll through each photo. Now mine are just thumbnail images and that is why they are showing as smaller images but if yours are larger once parents or students click on them they would see it in that original file size. You also have the option under 'Media' to do the same with videos. Maybe there were lessons that you wanted to upload or there were performances that happened at school. You can go ahead and click on new video or audio. Now under upload, it'll tell you the accepted file types and the maximum file size as well. You would need to place your title, description, add your alt text, and confirm the video's language because it will pull a transcript. We recommend giving the transcript a little bit of time because you can go back in and edit just in case it was translated incorrectly. Once your video was ready to go you would just click on save and another option you have as well is let's say you're using Vimeo or you have videos up on YouTube. Instead of downloading it and then uploading the video you can just embed it right away so you can grab the source code and place it here and fill out the appropriate information. Now your other area you have as well is your links. This would be a great area to use if you have a lot of website that you communicate out with parent. Maybe there's a parent portal or a student portal that they need to log into or you have a blog that you are writing and you want students to go there for updates. What you can do is add as many links as you like to so as a test if I click add link and let's say this was a student portal You could place your link here and once you click on save, it's going to say that here is your student portal. Then you can go back, click on add a link and let's say I'm going to call this Parent Portal. Then you could add your link I get here as well so you can use this as many times as you would like to and when we go back to your teacher page and we we refresh you're going to see that links have now been added. Another area that I wanted to cover here is the section that you that you're seeing on the side you can see that by going into Page Management and Pages here and let's say you didn't like the order that everything was displaying in here. What you can do is you can drag-and-drop to change the order of things. So let's say we wanted Calendar after Bio so I'm just going to drag and drop this here and as soon as I refresh the page, you're going to see that the order changed here as well. To keep adding to the section menu all you need to do is click on Add a Page and you can add another blank page again if you would like to so let's say that this was Health 101 I could add my content here and another option that we offer is the collapsible so I'm going to go ahead and click on collapsible here and let's say this was our supply list. Let's say I wanted to put here that we need our books, notebooks, and I would save our draft. Make sure that you publish as well for it to be visible on the actual page. So now when I refresh you're going to see that Health 101 that has now been added as a page and you'll see that when I click on supply list any information that I placed would be listed here. So you can use that collapsible item with either one of these options-- your content, your photos and with your file.
