Get your teacher pages ready for the new school year! We cover everything you need to know to clean up your teacher pages and add new content for the summer and upcoming school year.

Hello everyone! Thank you so much for joining us today. We will be going over how to clean your content on your teacher pages and make sure that everything is updated for the new school year. We also have a technical support representative in the chat who can answer any questions that you may have. The video is being recorded, and it will be accessible to everyone in The Help Center. Let's go ahead and get started. So, I have an example of a teacher page pulled up that I had created here. So, I will definitely be showing you how to clean up your content, add content, and a couple other things that you can do as well on the teacher side. Let's go ahead and go into our dashboard here. So once everyone logs in, these of course, are the modules that you will see. There's a few areas that I would like to point out here before we go into editing your pages. Click account drop down and click into profile, this is where you can, of course, manage your name. You have direct access to go into your pages from here as well. If you needed to change your password, you could also do so here. If you would like to change your photo, if just click on the pencil icon, you can of course go ahead and update that here. Another area that I would like to mention as well is under the help drop down. If we click into help center, this is a great place to go for any resources for anyone. For example, for teachers, “Beginner” is a great place to go. You can also click into All Help Topics, and if you click on a certain feature, we have our screenshot play-by-play process. You can follow along, and of course you can always sign up for the webinar. If we click more on webinars and then videos, this is how you access all the webinars that we've completed. So, let's go ahead and go into our hamburger drop down menu, and let's go into page management and then pages. You can see here the pages that I have created. If you ever wanted to change the order or if you would like something else to go ahead, you can go ahead and drag and drop, and that will go ahead and change the order there for you as well. If you want to edit a certain page, all you need to do is click on the page here, and it will take you directly into your page. Then, you can of course go in, and if you want add content you could do so here. If you wanted to delete certain things, you could go ahead and just click the delete icon, and of course if you wanted to add more content you do so here. You are not limited as to how much content, photos, or files you could add to your teacher page. One thing that I want to mention to everyone is please make sure that as you're adding content, you go ahead and click save, so everything is updated and you don't lose any of your information. Now, let's click back into our name here, and let's say we wanted to add a completely new page. All you need to do for that is if you click Add Page, it will open up this screen for you. I'm going to go ahead and select Blank Page. It will of course bring us to the page that we are seeing here. The first thing you're going to want to do is title your page, or let's say this was a test that we were created, you would click anywhere outside the box. It will go ahead and make the title for you. So, when we scroll down you of course have the option of adding as much content, photos, and files. So, if I click content here, it'll open up the content box for me, and I can start directly typing in here. You, of course, have your formatting options up top. For those of you who want to insert links in your text, you could do that here, or if you like to embed you also have the option. You can insert inline images with text as well.
If we of course wanted to add photos to our page the only thing we need to do is click Gallery, and these are your accepted file types. So, when you click upload, you have four options of where you can choose your images from. I'm going to select my computer for example. Now I’m going to select two images here. Once the images have uploaded, you can see that I'm seeing an orange alert that says missing alt text, and this of course is very important for ADA purposes - for those who are visually impaired or have traumatic brain injury. So, what we want to do is click on the alt button, and put a very general caption here describing the image. I'm going to click this one here as well and type. In terms of how images appear, you can have them rotating on the page, or if you could change and click on the drop-down, you can have them stacked on top of each other so they would just be going down the page. If you want to leave it as is, you could just click Close here. Then, of course, your last option here is if I click File, you could see what the accepted file type is any, so you can upload as many files as you would like to on your page. I wanted you to know as well that we allow the option of embedding PDFs on your page. So, teachers maybe you wanted to put your school supply list for the year or your syllabus. If you wanted to add that on the page, you could go ahead and click Upload, and you, of course, have the same four options. Here I'm going to click From my Computer and select a PDF here. Once it has uploaded if you click on the three dots here, you can rename how the PDF displays on the page if you want to or leave it as. If you could, go ahead and do so now. To embed the PDF on the page, we suggest clicking the largest icon here, and that will actually go ahead and place the PDF on the page for you. Then they can actually scroll through, and if they click Control + F, they can also search through the PDF. Of course, I want to go ahead and click Save here, and for those of you who like having the section menu that you see on the side, you can also add more content photos or files to the side of your page. So, click content for example. I could go ahead and type here, and that’lll go ahead and add it for me as soon as I click save. I’ll show you what your page looks like. If you realize after you place everything on your page that you wanted to change the order, you don't have to delete and start all over again. If you just grab the six dots here and if I wanted the images to go first, I could just drag and drop right above the text. So, that'll go ahead and rearrange for me. So, when I click save here and I go back under my name, I can see that my page has been created here. I can go ahead and refresh. So when I click on testing I can see that my images are showing first, and they can actually pause if, let's say, you're putting quotes on the page. They can pause and then resume if that’s what you would like. I have my text, and of course I have my PDFs that I added on the page as well. If there's ever any page that you would like to delete, you can just go ahead and click on the three dots and delete it off of your page for you. Again, you can always click back into your name and can actually edit your pages as well. The next area that I wanted to cover as well for teachers is if we go back to our hamburger drop down menu and let's going to Plan and Calendar, this gives you the opportunity to add events for your class on your teacher page. So what we need to do here is just go ahead and click Add Event, and it will bring out the options for you to fill out. So, let's say you have a zoo field trip coming up for example. You could go ahead and select the date here, and change your time. If it's an all-day event you could just go a select the option here. You can put in the location and any additional details. If you have a link to provide you could do so as well, and you can also attach files and pictures. So once you actually click Save, go ahead and add your calendar option in your section menu. When I  refresh the page here, Page Mangement, Pages, I'm going to click on my public link here. I can also click into calendar, and I can see all of the events that I have listed in my personal calendar for my students and parents. When we click Show all Events, you can actually scroll through each month, and parents have the option to subscribe to calendars. If they would like to print they could do so as well. Another option that teachers have as well is if we go under Media, you can have photo albums and video gallery on your page, so I click on photos here, you can go ahead and upload as many albums as you would like. They will actually be accessible through your teacher page. So in order to create an album all you need to do is click Create Here, and let's say this was from the field trip that everyone went on. When I click okay, it’ll automatically take you to your page where you're going to upload your photos, and again your accepted file types are listed here. When you click upload you have the same four options. I'm going to choose my computer and select two photos here. When it's done uploading, you want to go ahead and click See your Photos, and again we're seeing the missing alt text because these are photos, so they require the alt text to be placed on them. So I’m just going to click on the image and click the Alt here, and click Save. For those of you who would actually like to add captions to your images, you could do so by clicking here. Then just go ahead and click save and to move on to the next photo. I'm going to click next, and I'm just going to put Hear what the Image Says. Click save. So now when I actually click on my album, if I go back to my teacher page and refresh here, I can see that photo album has been added for me, I have my field trip album, and my health class photos. So I can click into the album, click on the images, and scroll through to view everything that's uploaded. Now I'm going to go back to the admin side, and we're going to go back in the drop down menu here. Go under media and video. This of course is a video gallery that you can add to your teacher page, so if you have any videos that you would like to share, you can of course upload them here. All you need to do is click new video or audio, go ahead and click continue here, if you already have the video on your desktop, you can upload it directly here entering your title, your description, your alt text, and then of course you're going to want to confirm the videos language because it will pull a transcript once the video has been uploaded. You can of course go back in and edit the transcript just in case of any errors, and once you click Save, the video will go ahead and post on your page. The second option is embedding. So, let's say you I'm using third-party source like YouTube. You want to take a video from there and put it on your page. You can paste the code below from YouTube, enter in your title and your description, and as soon as you click Save, that will go ahead and  populate a video gallery here for you. You can of course list as many videos as you would like you there. Another important feature for teachers as well is - let’s go back into our hamburger drop down menu and let's go into Classes and click Classes. So, this of course is where you can post classes on your teacher page directly. We do offer the option of importing from Google Classroom. So, when I click Add Class, I'm going to see the option to connect to my Google Classroom account. What this will do is if you click Connect, it will have you log in with your Google Classroom account and choose which classes and assignments you would like to populate over to your page. Now, if you don't use Google classroom and you would like to add classes on your teacher page, you of course have the option of manually adding the classes. So, let's say this was Health 102 for example. You could add the periods of when you teacher the course. If you would like to sign it to a department, you could scroll down and add the course to the department here, and you're going to want to make sure that the admins have set the correct term for you and that it will post correctly. Then, under description you can write about the class here. You could attach files if you wanted to maybe put the syllabus here as well or any supply lists. You could attach it to the class, and as soon as you click save and I go back to my teacher page and refresh here, I can see that my classes have populated here for me. Students and parents can actually go in and click on the course and if you have attached any files, they can of course access it from here. Any information you provided will show, and they can of course subscribe to the class as well. So, as soon as you make updates, they will also get updates on their end as well. Of course, if you ever want to go and delete a class, if you click edit class and scroll all the way down, you can go ahead and click delete and go ahead and click okay, and that will go ahead and remove the class for you. Let's go ahead and go back into our hamburger drop down menu. In the last section that I want to mention here is our announce module. The first thing I'm going to want to mention here is your contact lists. So, the contact list are actually a way for you to store any list that you already have on the back-end. For example it could be a list that you created for a field trip or a volunteer list. Maybe you have all of your parents email addresses and you would like to place it on the back-end, and if you would like to use this feature, all you need to do is click New List. You can go ahead and name your list here. Go ahead and click add, and it'll take you directly into your list. Now, to populate your list, you can click Add Single Contact which means manually entering in everyone here, or you of course have the option where if I select Add in Bulk you can download a CSV template that we have, and put all of the information in there upload the file here. So, as soon as you click add contact, we'll go ahead and populate all of the individuals that you have on the list to the one that you have chosen. One thing that I do want to mention is that this list will not be accessible by the public. It will only be on the back end. No one will be able to actually view the list on the public website. Now the reason I mention Contacts here is because if we go back into our hamburger drop down menu, and click into Announce, Contact Lists actually tie in with our email sender feature. So, I'm going to click Email Sender here, and this of course is for anyone who would like to send emails from the back-end. So because my email is already set, all I need to do here is click “My info is correct. Start an email. This will bring you to layouts that we have actually placed in here for you, so you can of course choose the one that you're looking for and go ahead and click continue and start editing. The two that we really like to point out here are the ones where you can include your event and include your news. So, what this means is that with the ones include your events and news, you can actually pull event that you posted on the website or news that have been created by the Admin in to your email that you're going to send out. So, if I click this layout here and click continue, the first section of courses add in as much content as you would like. So maybe this was the newsletter for the month of August. You can again add links for those of you who like to embed you could also do that here on your formatting option, but when I click on the second section here this is where you can plug your stories from the website. So when I click add, it'll pull up every single post under our news and announcement section, and you can click as many posts as you would like to share. When we click add, that’ll of course add it to the email for you, and of course if you would like to add more text, you could do so here. Now when we scroll down you can of course save and exit if you're just getting worked at ahead of time, or if you click continue, this will take you to your page to of course add your recipient. So you can manually add in email addresses. If you click add existing, this is where on the back-end you populate your contact list, you could choose from there and add it directly to go out to the recipient, or if you have a completely new list you can of course add from CSV. So you can download the CSV template uploaded here, and it will go to whoever you have placed in that list. Then we'll of course go ahead and add a subject here, and then you also have delivery options. So, you can send the email out now, or if you would like it to go out at a later date and time, you could choose send later and then go ahead and click the date and time. It will send out at the date and time you’ve chosen. One more thing that I wanted to mention here is that you can actually preview your email before you send it out. So, if I click preview email, you can see what this will look like on a desktop and on a mobile device. So, whenever you're ready to go ahead and actually send out the email, once you click Send Now, it will of course go ahead and send out to everyone that you placed on the list.
