so we'll be going over as I have cinegration student information system integration how edlio works with that data how do we get it was processed what do we get what day do we take and then how do you use that day so we'll separate those two things we get it so what are you doing so right here I am on my landing page show my admin site all these steps you can take and set up denigration yourself of course you can reach out to one of our clients that believes are all working with various products dad require SSN immigration places are going to be crazy new is just what are the steps instead of the details on how do we do it ourselves so we'll go back to this page in the second everything also be discussing is available in our help center so we have a great resource for anything at the old Willy I said Leon is health.com so when you get to the landing page you have a number of options including the webinar actually doing everything in the past so what's new and then you can also on the helps and articles go into detail procedure how to use what we offer right we're also any feedback regarding pictures how we can get back into the health articles and where to go to find these things and as I'm kind of going through these Pages I'll discuss it and all I'm doing is basically telling everything is kind of self-sufficient meaning you can do all these things yourself or you can have us the search area to have you any of these features that you might be looking to learn more about him or if you don't saved in your student information system whatever that is we have types of integration but we do take pretty much the same, so one type of integration is a direct what we call the API integration where two sisters basically she can we order delete data from USA that these are the providers that offer these types of connections and which are listed here so with PowerSchool Aries Skyward illuminate we have direct integration direct meaning you just provide the credentials and we walk in that connection and we pull these fields here right grade level classes enrollment Ender Guardian information student information phones and emails right so no matter what is the direct integration which will go into a little bit more or you can use the custom in Porter which is basically designed to be able to pull information from any essay at the course there's like over a hundred we have the direct integration with these are query Skyward information basically to csb right so you give read Excel file oldest date of that we require you would have to deliver to us one option is to import these manual it which is obviously not ideal because you anytime there's a change in your SS you have to download information for me and says dumping into our system we just rely on the STP process so the file transfer protocol requires that you would schedule an export from USA smoothies Fields then you would schedule that information to be deposited in the shared server that again with the credentials that we provide we love that connection and is basically the same thing as the 8 API except your we're doing it to a shared server process because those offenses don't have the ability to have a direct information or we just haven't executed that connection yet that's pretty that's pretty much it I wanted to see where the salt will go into where the what the files are the Wii require the pool with a customer important but then we'll do it at Monster Legends going to a little bit of a more detail on please direct integration write a letter using power going to the PowerSchool auction here we have the plug-in here so again we're constantly updating PowerSchool now is on version 12 I believe whichever version it is if it's on something already I don't know but our development team is constantly updating that Virginia using we can cover it will cost of the kind of updating our plugins in our code to match that integration cousins are in for any change that happens to us right we have to have that connection established so whichever version using we can help with that as the newest one you download this and then you just follow the steps on how to execute that connection from power schools and right what what does SAS mean to do is to establish hey this is a trusted vendor here's how I set it up you upload and then you given the credentials endpoint client ID a secret from parents that you plug in on our end of the show in the second how that works and that's all you really need to do you download her login. Defile you go on your end again I believe everybody has stomach. you don't we can help with that but a lot of these setup are done on their end and this is pretty much reflected on the other that would you have direct integration with we have a plug-in you set up either you have to reach out to their tech support or whatever but we have to stop this. Connection so what's the connection is established then you saw the feels that we pause pretty standard direct communication stuff right so the fields are the staff information to parent information information and then what do we do with that information will go into a little bit later but basically it's direct communication we have email service that is available for all of our clients whether you are working as administrator sending as the whole score of the whole district for if you're a teacher and you're sending as yourself exclusively would you provide that info that service the email service for free for all we have are texting options which are add-ons for the spending of these messages but these three text voice email or the services that directly interact with the SAS connection you can go and Katie's contact list I need to send a message to all my 8th graders are all the parents in the store all the stuff whatever you create that contact list and then you send it and I'll show you how to set oldies top right thing is one the first step is to create these disconnection whether it's directly giant equation for its customers or customers and then creating a contact list to send that information to actually use this data wrestle with on the step where we're going over that integration part you saw in the beginning I was on my landing page you so to set up started initially you don't have anything set up here you have to do the setup we have our disses our demo district one of our demo sites and we have it set up as if it's a custom important is that option where you can deliver that information to us through manual CSV import or the STP process technology directors and keep on the tech the office know about that but again we can help with my area where I set up my SS integration so site management SI cinegration you choose what FSU using so if you're using one of the direct option that we have we mention Aries PowerSchool Skyward illuminate you notice dad with PowerSchool we have several different options so we have the old the previous version 11 and lower and then we have the new 12 or we have the costume so it's not going to lick here is where do the setup as we discussed in The Help Center article you download that plug in zip file setup on our school then you can reach out to your SAS for help you can provide these credentials this is basically the key that we need to be able to go into this as a trusted vendor and pull that information again formation that we pull is what was listed there on that page is pretty much basic things like classes enrollment date birthdays that's pretty much it we don't pull anything beyond what we can actually use and since we're using this data direct information is pretty much contact info contact information phone numbers for students have to match your school so what happens is as do you know a lot of District district that work with us that are looking into a safe in the school Idols chawla Council connected directly to the district when you hit find school then it pulls a list of all the cha accounts connected to the district in our system so you just have to match it to the SAS code in your Graco East School in individually identify with a specific code and this way we kind of map right we map what we have on our end and then what do you have on your salt Silverado High School my B16 in my B 835 you just got paid this is the school that I want to put you also have the option for schools that have multiple SS identity like I say you have your Serato high school and then you have survived High School after-school program or what-have-you the point is you can have multiple schools created and connected if you have multiple SAS accounts for those it would still show up for that school right so that carries all the information for all the schools so that way you can pull information for all of the schools or some of the schools or one school on a district like that take me to send to every single on student and parent for the whole district from here each school only has access to his own information Jose Serrato High School SAS code 831 somebody opens Dorado High School here is an admin for that school will only be able to see that information for that school you giving them access to their old stuff pretty much they can really mess it up who's going to go in and change it so this is on the district level so this is Don so we prevent things like using the different called and I'm pulling information for the Bronx school for examples of everything that is set up an Executor as far as the connection is down on the district we have a question how do I do it everything has a question you want to can you tell us or do you want to just chat it I'm not sure if you would like is working or if you're able to Lauren Cohan okay how do I know if we should have great BBQ on Katina Wood River Post Office 4 DL to upgrade and I see they're just there overall kind of blue eyes a little bit better as far as his ability for customers but we don't really work with that all we do is use these list of providers to pull information so all we had to do was adapt to the new going to plug in integration code that they provided it was just the point for you is if still used to wear you have obviously you're fine I would just do a little bit of research what has changed was different as far as how they organize data but we can support you either way you're using those older if you're looking into a reach out to them also the question was how do I know if I need to upgrade to PowerSchool 12 or stay with the older version so again as a third-party provider that pulls information from the server we don't really have a preference or suggestions is just an overall experience for the customer is a little bit better fast as far as you know entering data finding data that was squishy is 12 better everything you was better it's just dealing with some it's a whole thing so again that's just got to recap this when you using one of these for sis providers that we have direct integration with you download a plug-in you set it up on their end weather apps don't automatically they do have a upload it to our page geitz but the point is you have to come out with these three credentials wants to set that up and it's locked in then you map your individual schools you know what we have on our system what are your schools that are on there are website services and a new map them to the correct SI has called once that is done then the information gets pulled automatically and then it's schedule to refresh night so we'll do the stuff in the middle of the night between between 12 a.m. and 3 a.m. in the morning we do a refresh and we will that date so we do actually open up hey this is that Neil we have all your credentials here this is the information that we need which is again that specific contact information that we already talked about student student IDs parents staff phones and emails for you to be able to them Kratos contact list so this is the process of direct integration then if we going to custom Custom is a similar process raso custom basically says custom importer will on your own basically Deliver us that information and either manually or with the FTP again here is where you have your options to match your school since we don't have any data anyway to cut a reflect what are the school you have to do it yourself I so you just add all your schools again one high school the summer school can be related to the same website you can have different calls to you match all that once you start dumping information and then we check at all this information with all the students is related to school code 13 which is the high school versus this information in this file is Schuylkill 15 you can dump that information at the same time and we'll kind of sparse it around where it should be that should be it about set up what am I missing was thinking about something before again the customer set up it's right here of course so it with a customer important how do you set up the STP ride to file transfer protocol to Shared server all that information is available here to see if the temperature here you can open that basic have six files I think I have it somewhere else but I can just open the door at the CDC Australis is the six template files and this is your templates for how to structure the data when you pull a we need that information exactly the way it's presented here in these Six Flags rides this is the one CSV what's settings so here you go student ID student number grade for sleep again to come in with exactly Fields Oregon is this has to be the names and then it starts to be how the data structure so again you set up your SAS Shoe or the data in this format and then if you want to upload it manually that's fine if you want to set up an S that's fine too so let's go into what that looks like right so I have my so what's a have this do some examples this is for example how my data structure is not nothing import CSV CSV import you just download again those same csb Tempest that I showed you those six you structure your data how it's going to get you directly upload the uploaded here is where it tells okay you have two schools here what do we have and what is missing right so as you start uploading those individual file this will be updated and you know does ready-to-use 106 cover for school if you want to do on STP here is the credentials for that so whatever your shirt server of your choices you just credentials in there and now again this is another version of the two Services doing a handshake share server meaning that data is uploaded by you hopefully automatically again cuz you don't have to deal with manually but either way the data comes in we get our system gets pain that new information has been delivered and then we pull it in we get the day was pretty much the same thing is it directions to Grayson except one step extra because if we don't have that API connection then we need to rely on the shirt server but again it can be automated and a lot of you have know how to do that in stones we'll figure it out with the fine now for the setup process and everything and now and maybe we can go into how do we use the data in how you can send you a message because this is technical part and whether we help with that or the texting deals with it this is just the setup and then let's talk about how you actually use it I'll stop now for any question if need be I'll just going over the necklace and how we can use that data. And what are your options 2 seconds citizen question Pentagon to my other self use a compact listeria there's no questions I'll get into contact with and how do you actually use the data wants to tell if we said in the beginning as we Hunted all that SAS integration data that we pull is exclusively used for direct communication that's why we only pull that you know phones numbers for the staff students and parents contact list is the area where you're using all that's on your landing page as a contact list I'm pretty sure on the unit know lumps under announced on the hamburger menu have your contact list or you can so here is where you take all that data and use so let's remind you something like personal Pages you see there's three types of lists right personal page personal Pages classes this is also where subscriptions are gather okay so if you recall a parent can go to a teacher page subscribe to that teacher page with their information should I just don't. so here's the landing page here for that District that I'm showing you the back end of bread so if I'm going to staff directory yeah so here's somebody in the school right so if I go in here that's a superintendent has their own personal page you said this button here so if you subscribe to subscribe Button as a parent I can come here with my information Ivan G and you Aaron and my kids name is Armando and I'm done crinone subscribe to the person's personal page if they have classes like any teacher would you can also going to the classes and subscribe to those classes so what happens is now that I'm subscribed I would be automatically sent email around 6 p.m. every night if there's any updates any changes would be nice to Teachers Credit of a homework assignment let's do whatever yeah you can go instead of so here's my Serato that person and here I am I just subscribed to that person so just to remind you that you don't exclusively need cinegration shoe contact information admins can see every subscribe and everything has again every teacher or every individual can can create classes and parents and visitors can subscribe to those individual classes so they don't receive updates for the for a class that their student is not attending of course students can do that too right we have a difference in a custom is where you can create a brand new list and then you can choose to use are there or just use it just upload information if you want creating a brand new list upload this or update my information manually meaning I upload a CSV file with a bunch of contact information or I individually add and remove people I can set this list up to update as I am as my new fresh SAS data comes in every night right so let's just do a real quick so Ivan's custom list what's the next song like that I can use that okay so here I need since I set it up to upload upload and refresh that information every night I can import from that customer and in here is pretty much where you cyst or your query through your data that is being cold all these steel to your school student status grade level class everyday from that in weather in direct integration or through the SBP and now here you come and say well this is how I want to see now if you want to fool everybody information in Port Austin guardian we only have 40 specified now what's the name what type of contact email phone numbers whatever or you can do a more detailed job I saying for example I want only High School people and I only want students I don't want Guardian from 0 to 4 and go from kindergarten to 12th grade whatever you ask what if I want to only fourth graders you can also save to all the classes that we have full. The little bit more detail and again if they're enrolled or not all of them first student ID you pull a person you pull a person you look at you look for them with their name who query individual individual search what are you looking for last name I do need gardening whatever so we just pulled this credential only to school only 4th graders search we have for these contacts in your customers so now this list is going to refresh and we do this whole search every night once we do the emperor I so want new information comes in we say oh oh share all the 4th graders now if you move somebody if that information has changed that would be updated here on this list that's why Dynamic is changes every night if anyone changes coming in this way you can make all your changes on your essay you don't have to worry about coming here and dealing with this right so if you say all the parents for the high school set it up as a list that refreshes nightly then you know you make sure updates on your   all that information gets updated on our end as well so here's where you create this person I created this Liz despised icon every night and it's update that query every night versus the typical custom list that you just have to update yourself so how do I use the things I would discuss the first the first one email text invoice with the direct integration that we have with illuminate our school and we can do we send attendance whereas with us Skyward their API does not support attendance unfortunately and the custom importer also does not support that automatic attendance call so if you're working with our School aeries for illuminate we can set up these attendance calls for regular Mac are so under a noun or from the drop-down announce you have your options right email text voice but I'm going to email for example I want to send an email what happened yes fine okay so let me send an email so if you're familiar if you're not again you can get information you can go to the help center and get more information on how email send their works and all this Direct National Trust before we know you can choose your template picture picture texts whatever whatever you can also have the option to pull events and news items those it's kind of cool because it's goes from your SSO quotes from your CMS on the website whatever news in calendar event is graded so let's go with that little quick so we can actually showcase that won't start clicking around this area hello whatever whatever information from then you come down here this is where your music getting out of all these news items I want to highlight okd stool I want to add to my newsletter no I want to go into the calendar and remind people about some very important of things like Halloween hopefully everybody remembers a new year don't forget right so here is my calendar and again you can just start clicking around different places and and information now we're done I got to shoot preview my email this is what it was going to look like it was my editor information on the calendar and all the nonsense that I wrote down here and he thought it would look like on a mobile device message and now we just decide where is it going who's getting this and this is where you start using your list right at existing with well here's my list Fred out of all the personal Pages classes and custom I have Johan's the route of the person that I subscribe to so I can actually send them Direct Spain that's so you can use these or you can add people's information directly add a CSV so if you have a list of parents or guardians or grandparents or board members you can just upload it directly subject newsletter and you can send it out how you can do a manual sent the other options are pretty much the same if you have text or voice here's a list of all the previously send you will learn who are the recipients add from this list what's your message are you sending it now or scheduling for later said that's text message if you want to send a voicemail which either you can record yourself or use text to speech which is this then you can do that as well as existing my subject Marshall script and then if you want to be cold from system and record your own voicemail says more personalized this is the area right if you use text to speech is basically takes this text. Hear my message parents and would read that put on your phone number with an extension of necessary and we call you you record yourself that gets added as a file here and you can send again now or later these are the three Direct auction that we have how you can use what else okay let's go into how do we show attendance let's try that or I might have to jump to a different miss right if I want to showcase attendance I need an sas right horse that so I'm going to alright school called is Schuylkill. Space I think this this is how you can do a manual import of your data right so we import that information in the middle of the night if you want to do it for school or all together you can do sinkhole so let's going to count that doesn't do it custom one doesn't support where how can we if I can show you guys directly how to do the attendance one day we'll go through the guide cuz I don't think I have the credentials yet I don't have this available let's try one thing real quick all right yeah so we can really show that because again we're doing having a custom or are more sample o with a lot of stuff I guess we want to wrap it up cuz I went over but it's a lot of things with so let's do real quick attendance that's a big one once you have one of those three that supported PowerSchool illuminate Aries from the from the list option instead of just having that custom option that we saw you have your attendance office you create your attendance Michigan multiple attendance list then you set up your attendance status right so which ones you care about some school zones send message to parents and students alerting them at a specific time to check email that they have been hit independent scope setup attendance give it a name used to set up the calls are being looked for party attendance absence everyone's you decide then you have notified which you doing all of these or some of these that's fine and then what time so you can have her attendance this you have multiple you can set it up for 10:30 a.m. right after the first two classes and then at the end of the day it's 4 p.m. everybody's going to get hit twice then we have again how do you organize your attendance sometimes is it an abscess is that it was a general basically we have custom messages that are completed messages that are sent out for summer only absent for that day and you've decided that middle these first five continents are only absent the blank was marked as absent for the following. 30 orifice General so you have some of these are you know sat makeup that's neither one of these stories have generally just as a general message saying hey there's an attendance report created for your student go check your ring size to get to detail again we have text templates depending on what type of feel that they've been hit with so if it's only attendance or attendence or general or just started the email actually spends all the cold sometimes I get a little confusing for the parents because they're kind of abbreviations but for the email we sent everything and then for texting voice we just make it clear or is it an abscess is it already is a bolt or is it something they need to check automatically get that information automatically and that time.
