This is a 15-minute training on Edlio Pay pricing types. We show you how to create products with variable or fixed pricing, as well as obligations.

Alright so this is going to be the home screen of your school. This is a test site so we're going to use Sunset County for this purpose. This is going to look familiar as well as it is (one second) As it is the staff portal. We are going to select today Hogwarts School as that is going to be the school we are going to be using. We're going to go to transactions and OSP products. {pause} So I already made up a couple of products that way it's easier for me to explain the price types for this sake. So for donations, for donations we use a variable price type A variable price type is a sliding scale price where the purchaser puts in any amount that they wish to pay. These can be used as donations, fundraisers, lost library books, and so on and so forth. As you see here, there is a zero on the price, like I said before it's a zero here in the product set up and let me show you here in the parent webstore. I am able to type in $50. I'm able to type in $500. I can type in any amount that I wish to pay. Next up! Let me show you me show you a fixed price type go back to transactions and OSP Products and we are going to select Field Trip. click "edit" and let me show you It's going to be a fixed price. A fixed price is a regular set fee and this is usually used for field trips, spirit wear football tickets and prom tickets. So this is where the bookkeeper and teacher comes in and sets a price. For this instance we use $150, so when they come and try to purchase in the parent web store, they have to pay the $150. as you see I can't edit this So that is the set amount that they have to pay {pause} Let me show you now obligations. For obligations keep in mind that no purchase can be made unless the obligation due is paid. So let's say that the parent wanted to purchase the field trip so that their child can go on the field trip and they wanted to donate money as well. They would not be able to do that unless the obligation fee was paid for first. So the way that the obligation works is that the payment is tied to a specific student. These types of payments are usually for... and are used for child care fees, technology fees, 1:1 fees, and senior fees. The way this is going to work is, I am going to go back to the parent web store The parent would go here and sign in or they would make an account if they don't have one already I already. I already have one so I am just going to sign in. {pause} {pause} {pause} {pause} Then i am going to click "login" and it should log me in. {pause} I'm going to look here in my student profile I have two students. I have Peter and Ron. If my child has already graduated I can delete him or her. Or if my child is new to the school I can add this to the student profile. So the way this would work is when you login. You would go to pay obligation and it's going to take you to another screen where you're able to select which student you want to pay that obligation to So we can pay for Ron Weasley and he goes to Hogwarts School So we're going to scroll down and we see that he owes a technology fee of $50 and technology damage of a $100. So I can go ahead and check mark whichever one I want to pay for and I would add it to my cart. Then from here on, the purchase can be made as a regular purchase. So there's nothing, I guess, particular about an obligation. They would go on and continue with your cart as they would regularly check out a field trip or a donation. The only exception would be that they go to "pay obligation" after they sign in. {pause} {pause} add that to the cart and then the 4% plus $0.35 transaction fee would apply and then they would check out, they would select a student, and they would click next. {pause} {pause} {pause} So, like I mentioned before, obligations is a payment tied to a specific student such as senior fees, child care fees, technology fees. No purchase can be made unless the obligation fees have been met. A fixed price, a regular set fee, is usually used for field trip, spirit wear, football tickets and prom tickets. A variable is a sliding scale usually used for donations, fundraisers, lost library books.
