all right so I'm going to go ahead and share my screen you should be looking at Rilo high school. Rilo high school is a demo website that I will be using today to go over the recent enhancements to pages so I will be able to show you guys in real time these newest enhancements. So this is the main dashboard of your pages, excuse me, your Edlio CMS and this should look pretty familiar to those of you who have logged in before if your a website administrator you will see all of these modules if you are a teacher you might see a restricted version of this but the main feature should still be visible and pages are available to a teacher users and website administrator users and these enhancements are available to a teacher users and website administrator so if you're a website administrator and you managed your school's Category Pages this is going to be available to you at that level and if you're a teacher who manages your own personal Pages you'll be able to do this then as well one quick note that I want to get us started with is mentioning where you can get in touch with Edlio if you do have questions about this so your first step is going to be to go up to help and you can navigate to our help center I mentioned earlier that we do have the pre-recorded webinars listed in the Help Center so if you come to the help center and you want to watch the last webinar we did on our Pages enhancements you can come here and look through there and see all of the other kinds of webinars we have to about our all of our products, our features, our newest product enhancements you can register for upcoming ones here so we have all of them listed in a calendar that you can go through we also have lots of different tips and tricks are tips and tricks excuse me articles here we have a list of help articles over all of our features and services and then you can also get help from us so we have a guide to how to get in touch with us also live within your website you can go to contact Edlio support this will also link you back to the help center which is a great place to start if you have a question I'm a lot of your questions can be answered by those looking through those articles or those videos but if you still need help from us down at the bottom of the page of the contact Edlio support there should be a guide here to getting in touch with him directly so this is the phone number that you can reach them at this is the time zone that they're available to you and then if you are working with an Edlio website this will have a button here for you to select new case and you can put in a case that they can get back in touch with you on a specific question this is grayed out for me because this is not a real live website if you were one of our customers this option will be here for you to click new case and you can view how to get in touch with them but I always like to mention that when I lead webinars to make sure everyone's comfortable with getting in touch with Edlio that is also available to teacher users and website administrators you don't need to be a website administrator to get in touch with us you can reach out anyone who uses Edlio's websites can reach out and it is free included with your package unlimited support so feel free to reach out if you have questions but let's go ahead and pivot to talking about the topic today which is the recent page enhancements so I'm going to go ahead and bump over to pages and show category pages and you can also get the pages by going into your hamburger menu on the left hand side and going to page management and pages either way works and I am going to go into my departments I'm going to go into a section And these are my Pages remember that Pages start at the top level with categories there are six of them then you have sections you can have unlimited sections and then underneath the sections are where the pages actually live like a folder inside of a file cabinet and the pages are also unlimited you can have as many as you'd like in a section when we open up a new page I'm gonna select blank page and I'm going to test hero layouts In the last webinar that we did on our Pages enhancements all we mentioned was the pictures that enhancements that we made to our hero layouts with photos so I'll show that very quickly if you like to watch that whole video it will be in the Help Center So previously your options were limited to these layouts at the top you have this one which can do a left panel this one with no section menu and then this one with a right panel these newest ones on the bottom were not there before this option will allow you to post a hero picture which is a picture that takes up either the full width of the page or just as constrained to the inside page width and this is a really great way to make more dynamic beautiful pages with large photos that take up the header size so I'm going to select this one to start with I'm going to add a photo or a section menu the section menu was this newest enhancement that I wanted to spend some time talking about today for the most part I will share the photo just to show so I'm going to upload I'm going to take a picture here these are just some demo pictures let's do this picture of these kids in class you can then select what kind of layout you'd like with the picture with what kind of width excuse me you would like with the picture so you can do either a full-width picture which is going to take up the whole size of the desktop that you're viewing it in a constrained image is going to take up just the width of the page so let's start with full and then inside the page editor it will actually show you what that looks like I'll publish this and then I will show you guys what that actually looks like on a live page this is what a hero layout looks like with a full-width image let's do a constrained image publish a constrained images is just going to take up the width of the page but that's one enhancement that we've made now what I'd like to shuffle to talking about now is the section menu so when you go into the ad option in your hero layout that you've chosen so when you go to lay out so let the layout and then go to add there's already a picture in place here so I'm going to add a section menu as well the section menu is the display of all of the pages inside your section previously your option to display that were either on the left hand side or the right hand side now you can just play it in the top as a horizontal bar like your hero picture so that looks like this So you have your hero picture now and then your hero section menu you do have the option of still displaying a section menu in either the right or the left hand side so I'm going to display this one and there is my section menu on the right hand side real photos that looks like this or you have the option of not having a section menu at all so if I pick this one and publish it and delete this option publish again no section in menu whatsoever there's no text underneath that either but those are your options with the hero images and the section menus combined so again you can have no section menu at all you can have one in the top header and you can now also have one on either the right or the left hand side I go back to doing it on the right hand side let's go ahead and look at that with the constrained image now it's not going to actually display the constrained image because I do believe that with be constrained images of the option for a hero section menu is restricted let's go ahead and select this and publish and now let's do add that back in now we have a hero section menu and a constrained hero image combined so if you want to have a constrained image and a hero layout excuse me a hero section menu you'll need to select the middle option the middle layout on the bottom so that there is no right panel or left panel display so that is the summary of this most recent update to pages
