Thank you for joining me today, my name is Divya and I will be hosting today's Edlio Engage webinar. We also have our Client Success Specialist Liliana in the webchat to answer any questions you have. Just really quickly if you're using zoom and you don't see the chat option here in your Zoom icons, just click on the more dots and you'll see three dots there and there should be a chat option if you have any questions that are coming up while I do the webinar, Liliana will be able to answer them for you. So I'm excited to show you how Engage is going to help your schools and districts solve your communication and engagement problems you may be struggling with [Pause] [Pause] so Engage is our family engagement and communication tool. It's available via desktop and mobile Engage is going to help you communicate important information to parents and students, it's going to increase family engagement in class and homework topics and it's going to boost student learning outcomes. Now you may be thinking that's great! I need all of that right now with my school, but I'm a little bit concerned because I don't have time to introduce yet another product to my teachers and my staff. Well don't worry Edlio Engage is one of our easiest to use tools and in fact if you use Facebook and email, as I'm sure many of you already do, you already know how to use Engage. It brings all the capabilities of the social media apps together. It's like creating your own private social network, but it's more secure, it's more customized for schools. Facebook Instagram Twitter are not. It's really going to be the last tool you need to introduce used to your team. It's also communication at a higher level because no other tool is going to measure the response level of your communication. So this means you can see how your parents your students and your community are interacting with the information you post on Edlio Engage. Edlio also creates an involved school community and this idea of passing the baton between parents and teachers. Now during the day, teachers are teaching your students different topics, introducing them to new ideas and then when class is done it's now the parents responsibility to continue that education with their kids. So parents really are the missing piece in improving student learning outcomes and Edlio is a great tool to help them be involved in what the students are learning and again pas that baton successfully between the teachers and the parents. Alright, so let's go into Edlio Engage, so I'm going to be logged into Edlio Engage as a teacher. so this is what it's going to look like. I'm going to first go to my profile [Pause] So every user is going to have a profile section and a preference that they can set up. I want to show you one of our most important features which is our language feature here. you'll see there are 100 plus languages you can choose to read and write in as your primary language. so I'm going to choose English as my primary language of communication so that means anything that I'm writing or reading in "conversations," "calendar," "inbox" "network" or "directory" is going to be in English. However, if I have a parent in my 4th grade class whose primary language is Spanish, they're going to go to this language section here scroll down and click on Spanish so this means that everything in the conversations module will show up in Spanish for them and is going to automatically translate anything English into Spanish for them. I will give you a more specific example as we get to the inbox module. So let's go back to English here and I can also choose my communication options to just like on Facebook and Instagram we'll get those notification features, we can choose how we want to be notified of the activity on Edlio Engage. If we want just one summary with the daily activity or a text message or a phone message, you can also get email notifications as well and you can choose which activities will send you a notification. This is really helpful in figuring out what kind of notifications I want to receive from Edlio Engage. So let's go ahead and save that here Now let's go to our conversations module Again this is just like Facebook, your posting messages here for your community to look at and you can actually filter how you want to see specific messages. So for example, I'm a 4th grade teacher so I created a group here for my 4th grade class so anything I post to my fourth grade class or is related to my fourth grade class I'm I'm going to see in this group filter. Now if I am also choir teacher I can set up a group filter for that as well. So what I will do is add group and create the group here. I'm going to call this other because it's not a class or a team [clicking] Let's call it choir and now you'll see that it's showing up in my conversations it's going to show the parents that are going to be part of this and the youth that is also going to be part of this choir group. Going back to my conversations and group filter I can also add personal family members as a group filter, so if I have let's say a daughter and a son that have different teachers I can add them to this group and then look at their filter specifically. So I'm going to go ahead and add my family name and I can also add the email of my spouse or caregiver if I wish to do that and then I'm going to add the name of my child [Typing] [Typing] and I can choose to add a profile picture as well Going back to the conversations module you'll see that Emma, my daughter is here and if her teacher posts anything related to my daughter or anything in her classroom, I'm going to see it directly when I click on Emma's filter and that way I can separate out Emma's posts from what I'm posting for my fourth grade class. So that's a really great feature in being able to look at the filter specifically in conversations you also see here there's a "Get Started" feature,  "See What's New" and "Send Urgent Alerts." These features are not going to be available for every user to send an urgent alert which means you want to send a message to maybe the staff, this would only be available to admins of Edlio Engage so you would have to set that up. Okay Now let's go ahead and post a message to our conversations so I want to send a message to my fourth grade class and remind them that an assignment is due tomorrow this is a really great way for them to see what the instructions were and how they can engage their parents with what's going on in the classroom. [Typing] So my subject, "assignment due tomorrow," it's a virtual field trip. and here in my content box I'm actually going to add a section here where students can ask their parents specific questions about this virtual field trip, so again it's opening up the conversation about what's happening in the classroom and increasing family engagement and student involvement in what's going on in the classroom. I also know from previous experience that when I add photos or videos it increases the views of my posts. I'm going to go ahead and add a photo here [Clicking] [Clicking] [Clicking] And then I can choose who I want to share this with. So I already know I want to share it with my fourth grade class group and then when I click on it I'll see I can choose from parents and students. I'm going to click on both and then I can choose to disable or enable comments and I can either post it immediately by clicking on this or schedule the post for a different day or time. Let's go ahead and post it now so you can see what it looks like in the conversations module so here you'll see my post has gone out to parents and students the assignment is due tomorrow, again the instructions are very clear I'm asking students to ask their parents about what was going on in the field trip. Now remember earlier when I said this is communication at a higher level because you'll be able to measure how your target audience is engaging with your post? This is because of the FES score or the family Efficacy  Score. It measures how successful your target audience was at engaging with your post. So the more users comment, like pin, share your post, the more points you'll get in your FES score. The maximum score is 100 and the least is 0. So that's different from Facebook would cuz we don't have a scoring system there, but with the scoring it helps me as a teacher see okay I know that when I added pictures to my post my score went up as oppsed to just adding a post here where I just had a couple instructions and no pictures and no videos my FES score went down. I'll know moving forward, I should add more pictures to my post because I know more parents like that. Parents actually did like when I said "students ask your parents" I saw there were more comments there were more likes and there were more shares. So it definitely helps me schedule my posts and the information I'm sending out to be more direct to my target audience. So that is the conversations module let's move to the calendar module Here many of you may be already using the Calendar feature in your Edlio website. That's mostly for schools and districts or athletic events. It's focused on school wide. With Edlio Engage, use this calendar module for classroom events so that you can keep organized with what's going on in the classroom. So when you go to the calendar module, it'll take you to the week view, but you can go to day and month as well and what I really like is that it gives me the option to subscribe my Edlio Engage calendar to Google, iCal and Outlook, so I can import that as well. To create an event, I can either click here and this is kind of a short view and a quick way to do that or I can click on this here and let's go ahead and create a class event for my fourth grade. I'm going to add an event name. Again I'm going to choose to share this with my fourth grade class, my parents and my students. I'm going to choose when it's going to happen One o' clock today add a zoom link and these are some of my favorite features here in the calendar, it will notify recipients, I'm also going to require an RSVP I'm also going to set up some tasks for them to do for this event so for this event I want students to dress up as literary characters so I'm actually going to assign these out. So I want one student to come dressed up as Huckleberry Finn and I only want one person to come is that and then I want another person to dress up as Jo March so I'm going to add there. and a third person to dress up as Elizabeth Bennet. Now if you're having a Halloween party or a Thanksgiving party, you can also use this to ask volunteers to bring items. If you needed plates and you need a ten of those you can just change that here and then click on 10 and so that really helps with creating events and then assigning them a tasks so they'll be reminded to do that. Here's the reminder section, I'm going to have the reminders go out two days in advance and also 2 hours on the same day because I know it can be easy to forget with everything that's going on. I also want to add a photo as well because I from before they engage better when they see an actual image on my post. Let's also add a short little event description they know what this event is about Okay, now hit save and exit. I'm going to go back one to the conversations module you can see that the event also shows up here you'll see that the RSVP is required you'll see sign up here and then again information about the event with my image and then the option to comment, like and pin. So let's say I have a parent that's having issues with logging into Edlio or they want their son to dress up as Huckleberry Finn and they're not able to click on sign up for this. I as the teacher can actually click on manage sign ups and assign this to a specific user. If they're having issues. So I'm going to go ahead and assign this to Misty because I know her son wants to dress up as Huckleberry Finn, so there I have assigned the it to her son. So you'll notice that once I assigned it it the colors changed. Pink means that volunteer signups are requested or there's some type of tasks that are needed. It turned to grey because now that task is not required. If you see green here that means that you as the user has specifically signed up for an event and if you see light gray like this that means tasks or volunteer needs are not required. So again when you're looking at it it'll show you by color coding what is required of tasks and volunteer events and that's really helpful to keep organized as well. So that's the calendar module. Let's go to the Inbox and I'm sure you're all going to be familiar with how this works it's exactly like email. You'll see "inbox," "drafts," "invitations" and "sent messages" to the left and I'll go ahead and compose message here [clicking] [clicking] So I'm going to message Misty so she knows how well her student did on the presentation party [Typing] [Typing] I'm going to add Misty here. Now remember when I mentioned the language preference in the profile? Misty's primary language is Spanish so I'm typing this message in English and I'm going to hit send. However, when Misty logs into Edlio Engage and goes into her inbox it's going to show up in Spanish for her automatically let me show you what that will look like [Pause] [Pause] If you can see here on the mobile device this is my message to her in her inbox and it's in Spanish automatically even though I wrote it out English. and then here is the actual message as well which you'll see has been translated into Spanish for her. Now when Misty responds to my message in "compose message" it's automatically going to translate into into English for me when I see it in my inbox so this really helps remove the language barrier that some parents and teachers can face. They do not need to rely on a translator later anymore and it helps remove that miscommunication that can happen and again that parent will be more involved and aware of what's going on in their student's classroom. okay now moving on to My Network. so My Network is where you're going to manage your connections create and modify your groups that we had discussed earlier so you'll see second campus, here choir you'll see my fourth grade class and these are all the groups that I've created. You'll see that within my 4th grade class I have my principal listed here, myself the parents that are in my class and the students that are in my class as well so this helps you see who you are connected to as a user and helps you be organized. The last module I'm going to go over is the directory think of this as a staff directory or phone book and the focus is your connections. It's going to enable you to see the contacts within each organization and group so I'm going to scroll down to my organization which is Edlio Elementary and I'll see everyone listed. Here are all my admins, here's everyone in kindergarten, the first grade teachers, second grade, third grade and so on. and so let's say I need to send a message to every admin here, so I can actually click on this check box and hit compose message and now everyone in this to field is going to BBC'd and I can send out a message to them immediately so that will help with sending out messages to your staff, you don't to open up an email you can just do it directly through Engage. Alright so that is it for the actual Engage product if you would like to get setup we actually have a promotion going on where you'll get the first 3 months free with a one-year contract to if you're interested please reach out to your client success specialist this is the journey that you'll go on once you'll set up with that Edlio Engae. You'll  have a more in-depth demo that I'll show you a couple more features that are available and then you can get onboarded with Engage in 10 days. we actually have set up a district within 24 hours so we can do it faster and make it expedited for you. Then we'll create user accounts and training it can take 30 minutes or less or you can do self-training. Again very easy to use because all of the features are features that you've used in other programs before. Then you'll go live and parents will receive their credentials and you can start communicating and engaging with your community!
