We'll also share some simple tips and tricks to elevate your Teacher Pages, and how to best use your Pages to communicate with parents and students.

alright everybody I think we are ready to get started I thank you so much for joining us today for this webinar at my name is Danny I'm a member of the client success team here at at Leo I want to wish you all a very very happy back to school and I used to be a teacher myself as I remember this this time of year you know lots of excitement for the butterflies but like in a good way right like it's ice I love this time of year I see thank you again so much for joining us for this if you're not able to stay for the whole thing today do not worry we're going to go ahead and add a copy of this to our health center I will do our best to get to all of your questions in the chat as we move through the webinar we might have to wait until we get everything's do the actual presentation to get some of them as we do have a ton to get to today but please have your question throw them in the chats I use the QA features the package which ever you prefer their clothes in and we can't get to them are you know I'll be staying after a little bit day two we can't answer them there or if not I'm if you're not able to stay I can go ahead and get those questions along to your client success specialist but I onto today's topic stand out real life teacher pages how to build them that what our teacher pages who has access to them right all accounts come with a section where you can share information about yourself I mean a section is referred to as personal Pages because it's all about you your post your class is your calendar calendar your photos on any other information you want to put on on the school website hear anything about you you want on there any but your classes are we generally call them teacher pages because teachers are the ones who are going to be most off using them as long as you have a account user account on your school website you have a teacher page you have a personal page you can do stuff on their own when the ones we were looking at today is a a personal page for a school counselor again even over to be calling them teacher pages today they are personal Pages anyone in your school as long as they have an account can have one now what are we going to be doing today let's take a look at this agenda here now we're talkin all things to your pages we are going to look at it your page that already built that I filled out here without a whole lot of bells and whistles then we'll be up we're going to take a look at what can be added to that teacher paid by jumping over to some real life teacher pages like and when I say you know the state cuz I'm talking at the cream of the crop some of the Ada 10 best teacher pages that we have seen come in and we'll go over some ways you can replicate some of the things that we're going to be seen today on these teacher pages never going to follow along or if you have to show the recording this to let you know your 13 of teachers for them to build out on some teacher pages you know please do you know if you're going to work today send them over to us once you're done we want to see them you know maybe we can beat yourself, you know Anna real teacher pages what are in the future so if you're going to be building out some teacher pages stay with us please send them over as we love we love to see your work right but we have a lot to get to today so let's hop into it all right I don't want to exit out of here I want to come over here admin site for Rio high school here now if you are a teacher and this is your first time logging in to your Schools admin so you going to come to the screen going to like this one are you can log in here with your username email whichever one you know you have their mean if your web admin at your school didn't give you your name just use your email here if you can go ahead here and select create or reset password of Jefferson login follow the steps there you go ahead and set up a password for yourself there aren't login all right here we go right now I am in the Evans Light Up Ryland high school now again I am logged in as a teacher so I regular permissions here so if you're a web admin or no effort webadmin has a granted you additional user permission you may be seeing some more modules here but for the majority of teachers login for the first time you don't have to worry about and privileges this is what you're going to be senior all right so I'm still kind of quick rundown I'm here and we plan you can add things to a calendar or facility features here if you want to go ahead and make an announcement we have a newsletters feature here I contact list a great way to get information out to your community there page management we're going to spending the bulk of our time in here today as we are supply list immediate you want to you know how many videos photos you can do that classes will be taking a short look at this today and posts as well here, blog features a bit like that will be taking a look at that as well alright Mount the first thing I want to point out here is a how does your community find your teacher pages alright I'm going to hop over here to the homepage for Ryle High School all right through your staff directory all right it's one of the easiest ways for us to find them so I mean I every schools different wherever you have yours house you know very well I know I can find ours here by going to our about us and staff all right right now Teddy Benson this is me I'm going to click into this name here this is my current teacher page not a whole lot of bells and whistles here are some posts you know how classroom expectations PDF a little about me here and I made use of some of our feature Pages here calendars videos post things like that I'll right here at the Subscribe button alright parents can go in there like subscribe thought the first last name and email here still get updates whenever I make they're going to email update whenever I make any sort of update to my teacher page that makes me post things like that they'll go ahead and get an email of the adults changes and it's also a collects of their formation here so the another email address so if you want send out a newsletter using a contact list its Autumn that information is going to automatically be added to a contact list when they subscribe to your page here all right so this is what the teacher page right now looks like a nap not too bad looking definitely definitely do a lot to make it better I so in order to get to our teacher page when he was here a drop down menu page management and Pages all right now we see here we miss our Benson's page this is the landing Patriot Renegade there in a second if you are coming over for the very first time you're not going to see him here going to see a little quotes and then I can air up here telling you to add your page all right so if you want to go look at page but in this case I'm going to go right here like on mr. Benson all right from the top here you can play with lay out here we'll take a look at those in a little more detail in the second actions here page options will look at that public view if you want to go ahead you what your page looks like public facing site that you do that kind of come through here you get your URL for your page there and down here we have our contents you can add things to your in the section come down here you can add things to the actual layout of the Patriot Act different content photos file supply list buttons I will take a look at some butts in a second here and links all right now over here on the left hand side you are mr. pencils page calendar videos and post that is related to this section here so any pages of I had another page right here and I title English 101 then alongside hear you another page listed for English 101 all right but that's a quick rundown you know that if you come in here you're adding contents you'll see a very standard text editor if you used one you could definitely just wants one who really pride ourselves on here at I just how a plug-in Play We alright I think most people if you use the computer before odds are you know how to go ahead and update your site here it's pretty easy alright so where you going to publish that all right now and next thing I want to do right now is update my profile all right cuz right now I don't have a picture here and we going to our staff directory I'm a picture there either so I update my profile at a picture there will have a photo there so up two accounts profile first thing I want to do is that a photo of myself I slept for my computer all rights and Jordan crop that will crop and Save are you going to go ahead and edit your profile here all right so I'm going to click that your profile this is information is going to show up on your teacher page as well alright so right now let's go ahead and add our mission I other this box I'm often times it is used for if you just want to put it in like say their their alma mater their Alma maters with that degree certifications things like that great way to do that so I'll go and put in my information they're down here additional information so if you want to go ahead and add like your phone number at the school address anything like that you can go ahead and add information down here all right so she's me alright Steven and other information like that you're right gun safe if I come back over here to this after rectory refresh that now we have my picture there and my position that I just added as well and I click in here now have my photo there my position and phone number at a quick more info we can see the formation of my alma mater is there all right all right let's go ahead and look at some real life teacher pages you're going to do is when I bring up on the screen here I'm going to go a and throw the URL in the chat here as well so you can take a look at it on your screens at home if you like as well all right so first while I'm still here this is one of my favorites of all time alright I'm pretty in the trap now they're you and I'm going to go ahead here and picks it up here as well okay now this is Mister Kelly's fourth grade class again one of my favorites of all time I very colorful very bold right I don't know that you I look at this hour be part of this class I want my kid to be a part of this class again time in the end dedication to in a teacher page on a very welcoming very inviting I love it's a great use of a hero image of. This is a hero image here and we just have other images your section menu let's see come down here a list of favorite things here there's a really sweet little welcome message there and a great use of images alongside here and hero image up top are so right now everything that I want to do I want to add a Euro image to my page and maybe we'll ask some pictures here on our main content and what had a picture in our steps menu as well go back over to my pages expensive page alright first thing I want to do if I want to have that header image like he has up here I need to change my layout I just want to go over here to lay out the right now we could see here with this sliver of this liver on the left side of the section on you and this is like your main content so we have this one are we see we have this horizontal bar up there that is for the hero image then you can add other things up here if you like as well as section menu buttons things like that but come at a photo today my Boudoir photo that I made little welcome Banner let's see I'm a bum. I made a little welcome Banner in a canva you know I can't sing canvas Praises enough we need to add try to text you for screen readers if you don't you don't need any sort of photo editing experience and it's very very easy to use I'm always recommend people doing that tons of free templates things to use like that want to go and Pub that aren't able to add the photo over here in the section menu like mr. Kelly has over here so photo he had a little list of some of his favorite things are going to do that as well all right we have that ready to go and then we'll do an add-on see you like an image like he has here the top is dear parents will add a little a little about me photo of the air actually I made a little Banner as well telling parents to subscribe and hit that subscribe button on left there I will adding a little another photo about me photo I'll go ahead and I will refresh my page and we'll take a look at what we've got so far once I add these banners I can publishing that but most go ahead I want these is to be at the top here Raquel Anson will drag this one up as well so we have described on there about a button there let me go ahead here and refresh this page I already we got that you're a banner of the human cheer actually drag these up here we can see we have the Subscribe button that about me there if I need a dry cup of this text not see that perfect guy all right hi all right so that we have that ready to go right now let's go in and look at another teacher page our this will be a lot different in the way just looked at the very top when we're doing these aren't we put this in the chat as well okay right now we are looking at Doctor Brian Johnstone teacher page here at king-drew Magnet High School of Medicine and science now this one is different right I really love the Simplicity of this one all right it's very text Abby but is using bullets to re-break everything up we don't want just one big wall of text using these here to kind of break these up I think it just makes it look very clean I really like the way he does that I know is that it's resume background I'm over here in a section menu he's got a great use of your refusing to text adding content a text box here for the class schedule I think it looks really really clean like the way he does this leaving and he has a little PDF over here on the side as well as add a little class schedule like this one over here in my section menu we'll come back over here not a Content box all right at my class schedule here again you know we can use text editor up here  any other I will publish that I'm also over here doesn't have one over here as well and see what that looks like never buttons eyes like those are so let's go ahead and add a button for that so you can click there to find the latest edition of The edlio Gazette and all but I'm open a new tab if you click your this this gear icon is Reagan play with the colors of this come from the color scheme of your sight when your site was designed you know if you want other colors do you have to re-check your client success specialist how to do that but these colors are here from your sights design so I was on and I was appreciated. I will publish that are rats come back over here or refresh all right how are the class schedule and that button alongside here to come together a little bit that's looking better than we had it before okay let's hop over to our next one this is the new one I like this one a lot okay so now we're looking at a cold Alcoa High School now this one here at what I appreciate about this one great welcome message here we slide down Ali a picture of his family very sweet I'm as a nice Personal Touch to it but down here is mostly what I wanted to look at our class is feature and our posts feature he is using Google classroom in a gray she can see what the logos alongside hear me see if he's to a Google Classroom do that now he's also using the post feature on think of it as kind of a Blog blog type feature on your site anyone who subscribe your page with an email whenever you add a new post down here over and add some Google classes and we'll go ahead and add a new post here okay so I will come over here to the admin site hamburger drop-down menu for a Google class over here to class classes okay now I'd order to add that class first things first your web admin for your school your District needs to go ahead and set up a turn all right so they've already done that you have no issue adding a class for you get out of class and it says there's no term set up reach out to your school's but I haven't asked him to set up a term here I'm in the admin site so you can go ahead and add a class I just want to look at class all right put a new edlio class but we assume that most teachers are going to be using Google Classroom here which is why we have that integration feature I want to import from Google classroom All rights to these are all of the classes that I have links to the Google account I am logged into right now so go ahead and add all surfing 101 and what department this is extracurricular I connect and add classes let's go so we can see hear my class has been added already imported the assignment that I had set up through Google now if you want to come here and add an assignment anything like that through your area so you can do that and I'll push it out to your Google class alright using that I want to do is a post or ice will come up here to have her drop down menu go down to post all right so you can add a few different kinds of post text link photo file video you're pretty simple text post here back all right you can't we can play with the formatting up here if you like click here where you want to post it to when I add this one to my class as well look safe okay I'll come back over here with fresh again coming down all right so we see my class is right here so that my surfing class right here and the latest post I made any post that you add they're automatically going to be added to the bottom of your landing page I saw any post that you have they're automatically going to be added down here to the bottom of your page alright cool alright so let's go up to okay this one I really again using that here I was there but just that that gift banner up at the top again this looks like a fun class really really liked what the teachers in with this I actually and this one in the chat check that out but I'm also going to go ahead and send a YouTube video if you want to make a banner like this is pretty I need to do so using Google Slides so I just posted a YouTube video in the chat as well a great resource if you want to go ahead and build one of these yourself very easy to do using Google Slides I just really appreciate that but that's the thing I wanted to hide that we can do together here is this accordion these nested collapsible posterior Wright's makes me look a lot cleaner very needs very tidy I just appreciate that Rex we have that graphic that brings us in and then down here cuz if we just had all of these collapsed you know I just know we have these. commence down here just be a lot I think if we just by claps and them just looks a lot so we'll go back over here cuz right now I don't have a whole lot I can collapse here I have this I can collapse collapse that and will ask my house as well go back over to the admin site page management and pages okay now I want to collapse and I already have added here and go right here click into the existing box but collapsible and you can add your name here I already have this one name to your classroom expectations as well say that will publish it have another call here or add a syllabus alright school and make that collapsible as well and then over here to cook these three dots this is all when you're uploading a PDF you can choose how you want that PDF to display so just want the file name and then click that opens up into a new tab with the PDF I can do that also but that button there any of those three buttons to have a preview of the PDF there so you have to go through and scroll through that have an open in a new tab I was just prefer doing that come back over here refresh and then we go we have our two collapsible boxes they're all right pretty cool all right and next up I want to take a look at this is Misty principles age here I am sending this one in the chat as well that yesterday principles paid out my favorite part of this page the right down here principal has their Twitter feed embedded on their page right in the section menu you know there's so many different ways were communicating with our communities nowadays you notice with their smartphones and we want to be make want to make sure we're reaching them as has many Avenues as possible racial social media is just one more Avenue we can do that with I think it's a great way to go ahead and your principles right way to do it so have that in you on your teacher page I think is pretty invaluable so I'll show you how we can do that here so I went ahead and grabbed the mbed feed from, my teacher Twitter account here I'll show you I'm going to send the link in the chat here it shows if you have a Twitter and you want to embed that feed on your teacher page follow that link there for you how you can do it, go ahead and in bed this one the ad content while right now if you want to go ahead and add any store anything needs to be in bed at a video and he liked that look up here the source code button when you're using the text editor alright you can paste the embed code there and we will go ahead and publish refresh this and we have that Twitter feed they're on the side pretty cool all right so just from top to bottom here based on the pages that we've looked at today we went ahead we added a hero image there we added some more images is here to kind of bring some new life to the page we added a profile picture we added some information here our position on some more info here for my alma maters what else do we do we made an existing item here collapsible we added another item and I clapped as well we went ahead we added a Google Classroom to are at the apartment site we added some images on the section menu here we added a class schedule we made a post we made a button blinking to our school newspaper here and we went ahead and embedded a Twitter feed on the side of our page here again from where we started I just think you have this this looks a lot better to Walmart riding lawn mower information on her parents to five here I think that it's just about going to wrap things up for today
