all right everybody I think we are ready to get started I thank you so much for joining us for this very special my edlio webinar of the broadcast break down a crash course in school communication I am Danny I am a member of the success team here A Deadly out and we are super excited about today's weather because we are going to be covering and Leos super versatile add-on feature broadcast we'll show you how this tool allows website admits to not only voice text and email alerts all from within the edlio admin site will also go ahead and go over the super new and exciting additions made to the product since our last broadcast webinar this includes a quarter note and the ability to send out push notifications are so if you have your own app with us or if you have the school news app by Elio I didn't go and send out push notifications there but we also allow you to send out post at your social media channels Facebook Instagram Twitter all of that within broadcast now we all have a number of takeaways from the last few years but one of the biggest is just how vital direct communication with your school Community is and tours many channels possible your every website is just one way your school district accomplishes that at today I want to focus on taking that communication to the next level with broadcast all right now let's get into what broadcast can do for you what is a multi-channel message delivery platform districts and schools can quickly reach out to parents or other members of your school Community about news and events in and around school and classroom broadcast delivers messages to cell phone landline email addresses I'm just about any connected device can receive some form of communication from broadcast now while the primary message Target is parents or Guardians I really anybody can be subscribed as long as they have a phone number or email address of smartphone contact information comes from your existing contact list within the CMS so looks like you're using an essay is due to information system to manage your school contacts and I already have that integrated into the edlio CMAs good to go now I am thinking school closures delays announcing over broadcast any special events things that you want your school Community to know about to attend send out a broadcast I know this is you know what I was talking about for those new feature we have Auto notices now you asked and we have answered all the notices I just scheduled data driven the notification system right districts and schools can integrate their sis to automatically send out personalized messages such as you know attendance or low battery low lunch balance alerts over email text and voice calls we've also integrated social media and your schools app into broadcast to send out post to Facebook Twitter Instagram want to set up notifications of your own app or school music by Ted Leo we have got you covered it with a better idea of what broadcast can do and the recent updates that we've made Let's jump into the other ocms and see it in action all right now here we are in V at Leo cm I am signed in as a web admin now we get to broadcast from a few from places here we have it right here on top bar here you don't get there by going to announce broadcast to get there from the hamburger drop-down menu here announce broadcast up here we have that announced with that you can now send push notifications and social media using broadcast again this is something we are very excited about now let's go ahead up here and select new broadcast I know the first thing you want to do here is give your broadcast a name let's say there has been a lot of snow in the area recently so going to be announcing School closure for the next couple of days due to inclement weather road conditions things like that and the next thing we want to do is Select our broadcast channels all right in a major announcement like this we want to hit as many channels as possible however people see this message we just want them to see it right whose kids were going to check off email text voice again push notifications that's going to go out to the school news app by edlio so as long as parents have that download it and they are subscribed to your specific school they will get this push on their phone if you want if you want your own app for your school and leave access is a great option we build out an entire app just for your school parents go to the to the app store or Google Play Store they go in there they start a school named they will have your eyes their very own app to download for your school it's really really cool that you haven't read about I do recommend checking it out over here we do have a Twitter account connected to this site I can't even connect Twitter Instagram Facebook if you want someone to go and check that off as well all right now if you want to go ahead and integrate your social media channels at into your Elias a message out here by going to Hamburger drop-down menu on the site management and settings there so we have all of these channels checked off continue all right now one of the most powerful features with broadcast is it robust Malaysian feature all right so the first thing I'll say you are going to be a translating this message into multiple languages you know you're making sure you're hitting every member of your school Community regardless of the language they speak at home I mean go up here this is the default language for all this just lets our translation tool know the initial language this message was written in so then we add that translation later on we know We're translating from this language in this case English to whatever language we want to add down here was a translation but alright so set default language to English they're all right I'm going to choose an email from which it will be coming from you can go ahead you can add other emails here within our settings you know if you have a general school you know you want to be coming from a subject alright then hear what Dad our message being up here anyway you want to go ahead and edit the singular. Add a image if you want to happy when I did that for the email you that here if you want to add translation that's where we can go ahead and do that at Spanish in this case all right now down here text message all right they were going to add that same message I just added and here we have our voice option has a couple of different ways we can make this happen I so we can call you to record a voice message just put your phone number here will call you and you can record a message directly into your phone and then we'll go out to parents and students there or we can use the text-to-speech function here and if you add translation there what it's going to do is it going to read out the message first and English pause and then read it out in the translator language here and then back again in English then again in whatever language do you got to say the ad down here tell Rita in the primary language first and then whatever translations you have blow that I push notification would want to go ahead and do that as well so Pace that message that we've been using and we'll just put subject School closure play and tomorrow towards know our character limits here for a subject and the message here and that goes up here for all of the channels write 480 characters for is 266 for tax email is going to be unlimited all right and down here we're going to add our social media Master as well since this is Twitter it is when you be 280 character limit on that all right we're good to go we have our Spanish translation there if we want to add any photos to the post we can do that as well if you want to add a video as well again this is specifically for the social media side of things all right but we have our message here ready to all right I think we are all set so what's that select continue and now we're going to go ahead and choose the recipients of this broadcast right now again this is tied to your contact list all right so what state do you have your sis integrated with your ugly ocms that's great if you want to get your sis integrated reach out your client success Specialist or our tech support team will be happy to assist and get you everything I need to get that going if you don't have it at your sis integrated that's totally fine we can always add a contact list here so I can add contact list add a contact list here to go to announce and contact list you can go ahead and add them there while we have a few different options to where you can add a contacts individually or we have a CSV you can go ahead and download and get all of that uploaded in one swoop all right I want to go ahead and click here add contact list to go ahead and find my existing contact list that I want to go ahead and end at in this case we just have the one contact here just for demonstration take when you send this out again in a message like this you want to know if that's your entire School Community if possible alright so let you know how many channels how many channels and how many people is in this house until we have 1 message for email one text one voice call and then down here are star general are push notifications and at Leo prep all right the way to tweets will be sent one for each line and here we have our delivery options I can send now or we can schedule is to go out later right so if you're you have like you know a specific message you want to send out a specific time you can go ahead and use this to schedule at 2 at a different time but I want to go send this out now my books end and just like that I just sent out a message to my entire School community of via email text voice call and sweet I just know every channel you can think of yeah an in situation like this I'm sure we also have the message on our home page again right you want to get this out in as many places as possible and broadcast helps you do that pretty cool no next up I want to focus on a companion to broadcast and that is our Auto notices feature so if you need to send out automated attendance notifications low lunch balance alert things like that all the notices is here to help the audit notice his relies on the same settings as broadcast is a companion feature to it so if you have broadcast you have the ability to send out Auto notices I got to get there we cook down here on an ounce and other notices enough to get there from the hamburger drop-down menu hear back pronounce or notices right now there are three different ways to create an auto notice through CSV integration which is what the majority of you will be using sis integration again as to information system or the contact list added to your Alias EMS important to note that PowerSchool and Aries are the two sis is that directly in a great with all the notices so if you have either of those and don't have them in a grated with your LLC mask reach out to your CSS your client success Specialist or tech support today and they will help you get that set up for any other sis you'll need to prepare a sample copy of the CSV file that you will use to regularly send the auto notice the sample file is going to be needed to configure how to read the CSV file they'll be used to send out each other notice I so in most cases you can generate that CSV file directly through your CSV most of them have that feature at once we have if I will automatically be uploaded to our file server regularly all right so this method requires just a little bit of setup up front but once we complete these steps together the process will be completely automated for you Information Systems provide a scheduled export and upload functionality all right you can use this again it should be built into your sis to automatically generate the CSV file and upload it to our file server you can see wow server info right up here if you click on that you get all the info that you will need for your sis to get that started that you can contact your I'm your student information system provider for more information on how to automate the process guess once you have this file server information here but again you have to get that CSV file from your your sis to start this process is going to look something like this is any real simple really you need a you know of filled with I can be a status or the status of the media if we're doing on my today we'll be doing attendance right so I'll be away party something like that and then a parent email parents phone number you know anything like that to get you started I know where to come back over here again remember this is just the the sample CSV that were going to be uploading today right this essential just tells our system hate these are the field were looking for all right the Injustice 2 name status email parent phone all right that this information will be automatically filled in as we get that information through those regular uploads from your sis again that can be all automated all right so we're going to do here is when you up here new auto notice all right and we'll get us one of them call us when the daily attendance all right we want to select our Auto notice channels all right so what ways do we want to communicate this with parents right I'm I'm always for you know the more the merrier here right I think we should do all three channels make sure we get this message across check off email text and voice I know it down here we need to configure our data source all right so what is our data source now again these are the three I went over before rumor is that the only going to be if you have a PowerSchool or Aries most of you will be using this the sts-v feature which going to try to do right now I'm going to like that that you need to for a sample CSV right that's what I was showing you before this day's weather going to look like alright something like this might know exactly like this but something similar to this or I won't come back over here upload sample CSV all right quick so we have that uploaded check right here will be looking for a file with this name uploaded to the file server when running this order notice or ice this thing is to be automatically uploaded if you want more information on that click click right here it'll bring it to our help center and anything that I'm I'm talking about right now I know this is kind of dense you know for for a lot of people so if you need any information or any help on this definitely reach out to your client success specialist at tech support but LR help center first right hook like this we have some really great information here to help you get everything set up to Delhi tomorrow to help center I always recommend doing that all right now down here are we automatically check up first row is the head of right which we want to do right so we see up here we have some names that this is our first row star header we have student names that is parent email want to make sure we have those there all right that we needed to find each column type right so we have those those four fields we saw there in the CSV you want to select the type of information that's going to be in each of these rows here at those two name that's text the status also text email parent email that's going to be an email address parent phone that is going to be a phone number going to continue and this is we're going to go ahead and inputs hours message template that we're going to be using for this all right choose where this email going to be coming from again email address is here can be added view your settings all right so I'm going to choose mine right now we can most cases it's going to be you know if there is a general office front office in email address me like that for your school all right so a subject all right we want our subject here let's see we want to answer emerge cuz I so we have these three merge fields we had assumed name was out or party today and then down here we want to go ahead and add our actual message template to say hello I said is we're going to answer another merch feel distant name again was actually will do status today I'll do that appear as well okay alright. However you want to you know if you want to add anything else this is just pretty short simple message template information you know please contact us at you no such number you no respond to this email. Feel free to add that again we have that translation feature I went over before so you want to select your default language you're so if you're not using English for this just make sure you know you include whatever that default languages if you're going to be adding any translation rights if you want to add any Spanish translation anything like that we can do that right here all right now down here or text you already the same exact thing alright hello pseudonym was status today all right and then our voice message here All rights we have that all set to go and will continue all right so here we go we have our contacts on this date of store so you know what Wendy's are sent out to me send it via email text and voice call we can set up how often we want this going on so we want to know repeat weekly which is yeah we want this daily this morning here we can check off what days we want so we're automatically to send it Monday through Friday as most schools are open for a reason if you eat it Sunday or Saturday can have those as well will keep those checked off to upload should be scheduled at least several minutes before the time and Otto Knows is scheduled to run in order to allow enough time for the upload to complete all right so I'm going to go ahead here schedule be here now it is in progress all right we can see it is now in progress now here is the email that I received from this Auto notice will come in here to reports all right we could see here this has been sent and delivered again here is what the email looks like on my end with those merge Fields filled out again it can be a little dense so I definitely recommend reaching out to your client success Specialist or tech support here for assistance with this if you need it is also going to come from your sis provider so please don't hesitate to reach out to them as well you know I'm and if we all ever need to all get in a call together your client success specialist your  is provided we can definitely make that happen right now I think they will just about wraps things up for us today after you have any other questions or just want to know more about our broadcast feature or notices feature I please reach out to your client success specialist time if you're not sure who that is please reach out to client success at Ed leo.com then we'll be happy to point you in the right direction I'll get I want to thank you all so much for joining us and we hope to see you at the next one alright take care
