already everybody I think we are ready to get started I thank you so much for joining us today for this my edlio webinar my name is Danny I am a member of the client success team here at Atlee out I know what are we talking about today I cleaning up your School site for summer break all right now we're still on Spring like the birds are chirping flowers are blooming what better time to clean up your at Leo admin site than right now with a little bit of spring cleaning and we are heading into the end of a another successful school year they hope you all are giving ourselves a much deserved pat on the back and I hope you all are able to take a much-deserved vacation this summer to be highlighting how administrators can comb through there insights and best practices to clean up any old pages on outdated users or user content and so much more of this will make the transition into the end of the school year so much easier and help you get a head start on the work ahead at what are we covering today all right now we're going to be improving user management and security are all going to take a look at our user management tool I want to go from that into identifying and when being outdated content a lot of sites right TV to build out the content and it's also easy to go ahead and forget oh yeah I have this you know in our site here where she had to go in and where to find that how to remove it you deleted all things like that and I'm going to end it today with small tips and tricks on giving your website a fresh new look up over here in to the admins site I know I'm logged in right now as a super admin on the edlio college prep site I will get into why being logged in as a super admin here is important right now I'm going to show you here real quick this is the front side of the play that we will be playing with today all right and this is the admin site that we will be using to go ahead and make those updates now I think the best place for us to start is our user attachment so I'm going to go over here your hamburger drop-down menu for the site management and user management a great time to re-evaluate who has access to your admin site right I know yours might not look quite like this we have a lot of users here I'm depending on your school your District you might have more or less the first thing we want to look at our our web admin because they have the most access to the site on the other ones were making updates there and I'll show you here on the filter function right now we have everybody was an able user going to click here with administrators these are all of the web admins on our site that's kind of good to go through his audit all right is everybody who currently has webadmin access do they need full access to the site to make your site as secure as possible we really want to limit the amount of web admins that we have here all right I think it's a good place to remind us of the three different types of users that we have in our at at Leo admin site I'm going to go ahead and kind of I'm going to group the super admin and web admin together what's go over there to stay Nevada second weathermen are there people who will help manage the entire website and updates regular or standard user accounts right so that means Superman's they have access to all the features everything that you're able to edit with in the adley ocms if access to all of that the only difference between the super admin and the way Batman is at the super admin there's one per site username admin that is able to go ahead and add move those a web admin privileges to other user account that's the only difference whether they can go in and update everything else again that's super admin is just the one account that can go in an ad or move weatherman for witches from other counts right and the other kind of user their kind is our standard our regular user right under user without any extra privileges that person will just have the basics when they log in to the edlio a CMS website selling a home Peter has their photos videos calendars things like that but they will not be able to access the The Wider site features here to go ahead make updates to things like at home pages your homepage General Pages things like that all right now getting now is a good time to go in an audit is either scare right alright so right now I see we have a person about events in here all right I'm going to go in here and see if they web admin I know for a fact they don't need access to the entire site all right so I'm going to click in their name when I go to edit profile and I'm going to come on down here website administrators I'm going to unclick that all right now what I am going to do though is what's a Bodhi here are you know I still want them to be able to go in and update certain pages you know what's that have them a big news for our site right I want to give them access to just those teachers I don't want them to have access to everything but just those okay so we can go through here let's say you know they are in charge of a summer learning at a bill College Prep I'm going to give them edit access to just that section there. On those pages I'm not even come down here almost there I'll give them access to our entire Athletics category is they are our surf teacher and we'll come down here and again right I said I was going to give them access to our news cuz they update all of our homepage news on our site to hear someone to go ahead and click off news and announcements cuz those are the news that show up on our homepage here all right so I'm going to go down here like safe all right what is a longer way baby but they still have access to those bits of those features that I gave them added access to their alright to again go in and out a really good time to go on an edit to the artist who has access what parts of your website right now the next thing I do want to do is go ahead and look at our our staff directory all right now you may want to wait until schools over do this but again I'm just eyes back in the username I feel like it's a good time to go ahead and look at that all right now I'll go back into bowdies account here all right my click edit profile okay now I'm going to go over here Garmin staff directory on open that up I remember there a couple different ways you know you can have a staff directory this is the staff directory as it is as a feature page if you want to go in and create a a brand new beautiful customized staff directory you can do that in Pages using our staff blocks feature this year is your standard staff directory page okay so now I'm going through right as it was Buddy Benson over here somewhere but I am not seeing him now let's go over here the reason I am not seeing here is because their user type is not checked off if we want to see them in the staff directory we have to make sure one is checked off alright so right now we're going ahead and adding Bode to staff directory I but if for some reason if we don't want to see somebody in there in your staff directory have a good time to go on you can go ahead and on track one of these Owen just a second how we can actually remove users from user management go ahead and clean it up but again if we're just doing a quick you know your update this is a good way to do it is are critical to your site and ensuring that you're coming can find has to be up to date are you be surprised how often the school do not keep this after I threw up today so I'm not saying right now it is very important that we do now again let's go ahead here all right so there we go I'll see you that's or fresh this either we got Buddy's right here now let's say just the opposite we have someone now who is no longer at the school what's a Zakir Jose has moved on to a new opportunity now if I just wanted to remove them from the staff directory I can just do that here and still keep there. but in this case I don't want to do that I want to do more we scroll all the way down here to the bottom under account status that is where we can make our biggest updates to user accounts here three different things I wanted to look at here right now the first option being lock out all right so when we lock someone out I mean that user can no longer log into the ugliest EMS as long as they have at user type checked off they can still be in the staff directory if they have any personal Pages built out on Staff Pages those will still be visible on our public site and you know we will have access to that information as well that means we can still whatever darling we need to pull their weak and flawed access to that ideal eruption here is disabling account we can disable account as well alright so just like locking them out they cannot log into the other cmsi but with this they cannot be seen in this after are there public Pages they're on their personal pages will not be seen on the public site and got a boo boo still have all of that information available to us as web admins in the very last I want to cover his delete all right this is just going full nuclear nuclear here this is going to go I just delete all of their their content their data everything I mean I would say really only do this when you know hey this person left the school we have all the formation weather be from their personal page is there anything that we need to get our we already have all of that so we can go ahead and just hold on a delete this user here on let's say in this case you know we're coming up on the end of the school year you know a few days left I still want them to be able to login to the dcms here I want to go in and lock them out okay all right I want to see I do want to show you here too as far as user management and staff directory I think you're right I added Bodie here and we don't want picture nobody can go in when he walks into the other ocms he can just go up here to account profile and at his own photo there any photos he adds here on is his profile will show up here but we can also do that as web admins our self I'm going to go back here to Otis profile when I click that pencil there go ahead and upload a photo are we can crop that there are in there we go we have Bodie ready to go there for user management audio users on you know get a better idea of what we're going to have to add remove things like that right because we do have a full staff list for the fall yet and I will clean this up now have everyone that we know is leaving off of there now Baywood start bringing in the new people we can Mass upload them you know via our clients access specialist they can go ahead and send you a CSV and help get you and help you get everybody uploaded to user management so we can get that staff directory all nice and populated alright next and I want to look at is a site navigation so I'll come back over here to the front facing site that we see a lot of outdated content popping up inside navigation and that's not a good look I'm stating navigation Boletus it's the gateway to most of the content in your sight and reflection of your school or District we don't want any outdated content there right we want to put our best foot forward that we want we want to make sure we're presenting ourselves I am making sure that people see that we are updating our site as needed right now let's go through here I think just a general way to go ahead and order this is just going through your site navigation right just looking at a piece by piece waiting here I need to remove I can't remove right here we have 2022 fall Jamboree and study abroad summer 2020 to all right that's last year we don't need that I'm let's go in and remove these from the site navigation I just want to go back to the admin side a drop-down menu site management like navigation all right under activities on the scroll down okay so are fall Jamboree when the study abroad summer 2020 to delete that right now we're going to go ahead and save that now as I'm sure most of you know just because we deleted that from our sight navigation does not mean those pages were deleted from our CMS they are still available to use or so if they're searching for those pages if they already have the URL they can still access that content and that information would go in and fix that all right bring over to our page management now all right with page management pages all right we just thought deleted those now we want to go in and find these pages and again another tool you can use the kind of search for outdated content using search feature here like searching by your right so you have a 20 21 22 that's going to search by year and you know if you have if you might have some content there that are pretty easy to find a go ahead and remove so the ones that we had here we had to study abroad alright so in this case I'm going here to the section now let's say in this case I know the other college prep we have a we are no longer doing the study abroad program at all right there's no need to keep this content you know we are definitely doing this again so really go ahead I'm going to delete this whole section right here all right okay that is gone and I want to be able to even though we before remember we do Pinnacle so find it now they can no longer find that site that want to go back and look at that fall Jamboree that we had before the section the fall Jamboree I know we're going to have a fall Jamboree baseball 2023 this time what about your son publish this entire section here are because I know we're eventually going to want to go ahead and update this because we're going to have our fall Jamboree again this this fall know this actually seems like the perfect opportunity right now to mention content autopilot I think it's one of our best Services here on a deadly oow underutilized essentially what we do is maybe team of content experts who will go in and make updates like this to your site for you you do your shoot us an email let us know like hey I want a page that has this that in that you know this kind of picture we go ahead and we will make those updates for you I noticed it's you know important savings right. It will cost but also saving of your staff time you leave that content update will leave the educating to you I need the better for Clear communication right you want to deliver quality communication with a consistent own style and branding to your entire School Community helps with compliance right we receive recommendations on how you can improve usability Effectiveness accessibility that's a number one accessibility I wish you always be striving to make our websites as accessible as possible and he has a ton a ton a ton of tools here to make your website as accessible as possible Right but it's up to us to use those two right eye with a with a v o r Canton autopilot we go in there we can help with those accessibility issues and last but not least and kind of relevant to what we're talking about right now I will clean up your content for you will remove static outdated or ineffective content will go in and we'll remove those things for you again saving you time things like that alright I hear if you delete a section from pages is it removed from plane ever what does it mean to remove be removed from both go ahead and delete navigation for you all right questions about content autopilot Reach Out you're at Leo client success specials today formation for you but again it's a pretty invaluable tool on especially you know if you're under staff you don't have enough resources to update your website as much as you like definitely recommend a check out at Leo content autopilot now the last thing I really do want to touch base on here really updating the look and feel of your sight right strings General spring cleaning I don't like to reassess the way out look out at my house look at my home now I think it's a great time to do that at least tips I'm about to share our things that you could do on your end right if you're looking for a complete design overhaul on that was a great time to do that it's a great time to reach out to your client success specialist about get a redesigned site I kind of get the ball rolling on that now before we head into our busy season again these are little things you can do on your end to freshen up your still a little bit I'm getting some new life into him will actually start here with your inside Pages all right now I'm one of the first things I do want to look at is your your layout layout of your pages so when he just on here are you my bad y'all all right this is been republished let's go in and take a look alright so right now we have this here on this layout we have our content here we have a section menu on the side here and I'll show you where that's that is updated where you create a new page Auto defaults to whatever lie you have in your settings so if we go here to your site management settings and then pages but this is where you can set up at default layout or your pages write a lot of times it's going to be fall to this content here section menu on the right I am a big fan I've talked about it a lot in our webinars I'm a big fan of the hero image up top I just think it's like a really bold look for your your pages I really draws in viewers I will take a look at what that looks can a second look up to you if you want to have that you know again as the default for all your pages for right now was keep this as is and I'll show you how we can go in and add that girl image they're so back to pain management pages update that fall Jamboree page okay now with this I mean it whatever you're updating I want to go in and update the content as is right going up if you're you know a thing that happens every year every quarter whatever you guys going up dates are the dates however you need to do there but what I want to hear is the actual layout all right so I'm going to go up layout and I'm going to go make this extra money on the laptop with the hero image up top here alright go ahead up here click add this where you can add photos of section menu buttons and links links feature is pretty great and I bought a little on avatars you can go ahead and add with those links as well it looks really sharp where do I add a hero image up top here update that's for summer camp Banner always make sure we add our all text with a brief description of the image all right thing play over here with I'll look like the layout hear what he wanted them stacked or if you can have multiple images you can rotate them here then here you can have the image either constrained or full with a full which I think is what really looks good for a hero in the trailer looks really great on the page I keep it's at rotate and full here will publish that's all right look like before we'll go ahead and just refresh it again just to having that I think it's kind of really freshens up the page a little bit just a little thing you do do you want to go in and make some updates to your pages like that if you like I'm just a couple other things I think that would be good now that's the inside Pages we're just looking at both look at some potential little homepage updates weekend now I'm the first one might seem obvious I'll hop over here or homepage a full with video a lot of sites we have the full with video it's it's a really hot look right now at school lot of school sites really they want something like that oracle's as much does a full with image all right for a shuffle you know what cities are a lot of school site has her phone might seem obvious which is updating that content if you had the same video for a year too time to update that you had the same images here it might be time to update those you know especially with these you can really go in and make something in canva we have a lot of sites a lot of Tears using can how to make the amazing Graphics pro-level graphic for free with canva I'm in a ruse, it rejuvenates the homepage a little bit you know especially people used to come in this thing the same way every time I if you are using photo cuz I ain't number one make sure they are high-res photos most the time if you're you know if you take that to that that image upload it to the CMAs directly you're going to have a high resume it's going to look good last time that people are saving images you from Facebook or something and then trying to upload those who are not high resume high-res images often and they are usually not going to look good look a little pixelated I need to get photos that was going to pixelate it might be time to go ahead and update those as far as videos you know a lot of schools love their drone the Drone videos you know what eagle-eye view of what the school looks like I'm you know if you have some sort of arts program you know Navy Club is a new video for your homepage there if you want a drone a drone video we do offer drone videos I reject your client success specialist we can get you a drone video setup for your homepage on a couple other little things to know if you are aware you have images you know use Quick links are often updated through shuffles depending on your site that's it you know we can update those images things like that even if you want to maybe not go through a full website redesign you know you might be able to do in an ad a couple new features you can recharge your client success specialist you can let you know what the associated costs with a cost with it is but it's a lot lot cheaper than doing a redesign you know someone that does adding an land section in a lot of states don't have these I think they are great you know you and your team are you know going through so much to go ahead and make sure your District your school is the best that I can be it's time to brag about that you want to go ahead and say hey we're the best this is why the best why does why were the best look at these numbers here right so whatever you know you want those statistics to be I think an addict land section is a great great addition to make to a homepage on that social media feeds you know Facebook Twitter Instagram you know so much your communication is really going out to Facebook Twitter Instagram and you can do that through your Alias EMS through the broadcast feature if you do have that add-on feature I mean go ahead and make social media updates do that so we push those out and you have the social media feeds on your homepage I mean a bit until gets pushed out and you have it right here you know and it drives traction drives your audience to you're a social media sites you're a great addition to a home page for specific pricing
