all right folks I think we are ready to get started thank you so much for joining us today for this my atleo webinar. My name is Danny I am a member of the client success team here at at Leo. Just some quick housekeeping for we get started if you cannot stay today for the duration of the webinar are no worries a copy of this webinar will be added to our help center in the coming days right so he can stay for the entire time no worries just check back on her help center able to watch a recording of it out throughout the course of today's webinar if you do have any questions please feel free to throw them in the q-and-a feature and get this answer for you which kind of acts as a knife Segway because that is exactly what we doing today when we answer your questions I've worked with our tech support and kind success team here at edlio to compile our most frequently asked questions that we see come in I'm through support cases on the emails to our our client success team will go ahead and review those will look at the answers and I'm a little deeper with those into the CMS that's good for beginner to intermediate users of the sea messed up but want to focus on those questions in the first 20 minutes or so we have 30 minutes here today and I can stay in a little bit later to but hey so right so you know if we're going through the course in Tazewell and you have a question do you know that we didn't review here in the in the FAQ is Right throw it in the chat here after the Cuban a feature to the Future and we'll go ahead we can review those at the end of today session and anything that we're not able to directly address or get an answer today I will go ahead and send it to your client success specialist and they will go ahead and get that answer for you we have a report that we pull at the end of all these from from Zoom are we go ahead and pull every question that was thrown in the human a feature who asked if their email and everything like that so I ordered something that maybe your client success specialist might need to answer for you we can get to follow up on that question here today as well but let's go ahead here and start today's session all right now I'm bringing some into kind of a few different trunks here the first thing I want to focus on is what does blank stand for this is a lot of terminology that you know we might throw around here that our team might throw around and you know sometimes you know we're so used to this internally right when we talk to each other here at the relay that's up to you in the customer and we realize I'll wait you know maybe we haven't made it clear what this stand for that since there's going to want to go over what some of that terminal g.i. first-year all right so what does blank stand for all right quick list here right now CSS that's the one you can hear the most for me CSS manager Klein the best specialist every single Klein every single school at at Leo has a dedicated client success specialist they are your go-to person for any questions about your site alright that that's kind of beauty I'll be all right we have a tech support line which is number to TSA technical support you can call in there but you do have direct contact information for your client success specialist their email address within their email never sent you an email with in their signature they have phone number you can call that phone number reach them directly you can always set up a zoom right so if you want to go ahead and try to troubleshoot some issues that you might be having with your sight who man hop on and zoom with your client success specialist your CSS and making sure screen can I get into the nitty-gritty of what's actually happening with your site answer some questions for your one-on-one I always always recommend doing that we're going on down here technical support again that's our text 14th really that's the kind of the more technical stuff that Jesus might not be able to do that might require code you know the technical support team can help with I'll be the one to when we open cases which will get into in a second here are the ones working on those cases your product manager you work with your project manager your p.m. when you started building your sight so you can some of you who might be newer to Elliot you still might be working with you or p.m. Miller once again manage that project that we were building out the site working with all the various teams here with it at Leo to get that site up and running race with your building at your site your p.m. is your go-to person and it once the site is launched and live that is when your CSS takes over Onyx top CNS men is the content management system all right that is a software that used to manage the content on your site all right don't think your admin site that is it that is at Leo's CM at that is our content management system so when you log into your address that is our CMS using again to make updates to your site SEO search engine optimization that optimizes your website for search engines like Google Bing and really help a boost your school's visibility and helps people find the information that they want and need what you want them to see on your site we have a direct integration with Google analytics which will get into here in a little bit an SEO another one of you might hear thrown around a lot DNS domain name system that is how the internet knows how to find your specific website we really recommend us Halo your DNS records for you and most clients do do you know if you're wondering do we is that exactly I never really addressed before. Maybe a smaller School District we might not have a dedicated tech tech support team on your side I mods are the we are handling I your DNS for you we can always ask if you know you know if you're not sure you always reach out to us here at at Leo some quick on akron's most wanted to get into hero real quick so I love it I see the chat is blowing up that is awesome that some of these we can definitely cover here at the end and will cover Through the course the webinar Abba Cynthia Johnson I just want to cover a new Ted Leo and my school how do I find out who RCs this is excellent question Cynthia and you can find out who that is by reaching out to client success at Ed leo.com as client success at Ed leo.com I'll have that email address here on this at the very end of the presentation as well and we'll go ahead and introduce you to your client success specialist so you can get the conversation going with them all these questions here we able to get to towards the yeah right here actually stupid I should have waited here because if you're not sure it's right over here on the right hand side we have a few of our csst members here we have hobo Anita right here we have a whole bunch of others as well but like I was just saying if you ever want to know who your client success specialist is reach out to client success at at live.com and will be happy to introduce you there all right Alexa who can update our site now for the remainder of the slides are going to go back and forth between a fly's here and an admin site down in the you know who won where when why and finishing off with how I feel like I most especially to chat you are going to be how our site and to understand that we have to understand the different account Privileges and types so I the three they're going to see in your admin side super admin webadmin in standard / regular users. You're going to go into the middle here and start with webadmin so super admins real quick where that means these are the few trusted people that you really want to help manage your entire website and update regular user accounts are those are web admins have access to update all the time within the content management system that you can update for your site super admin. I would have drove back up to the top here super admin have all the same privileges they do everything a web admin can do the only difference is the super admin to go in and Grant web admin privileges to regular users that's the only difference when they are super admin I think that must be like you know the other number one then they might must be able to do stuff that I can't do as well. The only difference is that do in Super I've been going in Grants web admin privileges to regular users so really down here you'll see lizards the best practice we really only recommend log into your super admin account would you going to use a Madman if you need to make that the change to your website administrators right so if you need to go ahead and upgrade some of the access from regular user to web admin then when you go ahead login as a super admin account or stop by person need to downgrade someone coming to Webb Avenue standard a regular user then go ahead and log in the super admin account other than that we recommended creating a web admin account for yourself and logging into that instead of always log into the Super admin account I'm just because you know I'm scrambling count is kind of mental like the school level right where it may be in time you know someone else might be taking over the school website it's best just to have that one open and not link it to a specific email address and just keep that one you know separate of any individual user which why you recommend only do only log into it to go ahead and make updates to your web admins still standard regular users add a new user account to your sights a by default it'll be a standard user account without any Republicans write that person will have only the basics when I login to your website to admin area little piece the website and on hold Pages photos videos but they're not going to be able to edit and beat their personal Pages that's I'm going to go ahead here IHOP in I just wanted to show you the difference between what it looks like when an admin logs in versus when a regular user logs in all right so here's one site do college prep on this when I'm logged in as a web admin that's when I log in here do you think I have access to all of the tools available to update my sight okay with them is a drop down menu if you are with webadmin you should CBC news about everything that I have here if I'm a regular get a user with no extra privileges I got to link access to my personal Pages things like that this is what they're going to say right it might look like they have access to a lot more than having to do everything here is person alive is only their purse calendar is only a new letter they can send out to their personal contact list I'm a starving people have you know what part of their classroom things like that paid management these are is only be able to be updated for their personal images I saw every user account comes with personal page that I can just go in Crepes little by a little about me I said it to be for a regular user there again I wish I'm going to get into a little bit here a regular user can be given privileges to go ahead and update a small parts this site without be giving full web admin privileges right so I can go in here and give this user hear you no access to news the news to do for our site I can go ahead and piecemeal if you use their management a different privileges here so again this is the site right now I'm in right now that I can go ahead as a Batman and make updates to regular user accounts so I can get they're back on the site management and user management I know you see these bags on the side let us know who's a super admin who's the web admin this case right here so we see this user right here there are regular user cuz they don't have any my bad they're so good luck on their name two actions here at their profile over here under site access you see here are user type of asset management things like that over here categories in sections and additional access this is where we can give them access to other parts of the site that they wouldn't have access to as a regular user categories in sections this allows us to give them added access to specific categories and sections within your page management locate in this case were editing the user mod Benson Benson is an English teacher I can go ahead here and fine let's see appear we have our english-language apartment I've never added access to just that so yeah we're putting them all in charge of update are English language departments are Pages you know I give her out of that class too just that I can also give them at access to other things he likes news events you know your calendars things like that so again, coming back here who can update our site really anybody you want it just depends on the level of access that you wants to give them all right we got to power through here what Integrations and plug-ins are available with the ugliest free calendars you can integrate your Google or Microsoft calendars super easy to do one thing to note though is that that information flow it is one way so the information to come from your Google or Microsoft calendar and Flow over the Ed Lee ocms you want to make your calendar you want to do it I'll Google or Microsoft and then they will be updated on your aunt Leah website I don't recommend doing that just because the Google and Microsoft calendar features within your Google Microsoft themselves a lot more powerful than we have here so you're better off using that and just letting that information be updated for you be the end of graichen SSO another one we should have had there with the acronym single sign-on options price of your school utilizes Google or Microsoft if your folks are already login you know via that to other to the other email anything like that you can integrate that with the CMAs here making it easier for folks to login to your admin site will my password for them to remember so I just use their Google or Microsoft credentials to go ahead and log in I just will utilize his Google Classroom we integrate with Dad that is a great tool again I miss a lot easier to do more work straight from the ugliest let's hear sis your student information system we directly integrate with Aries PowerSchool and skyworks has to go ahead and get set up with any of the CMS information to be able to automatically but we can easily work with sis providers reach out to your client success specialist to CSS for more information on RS is integration and how to get that set up that work with you directly on that I'm laughing at least SE search engine optimization one of the acronyms we went over previously we utilize Google analytics you know there's pretty much no better tool out there to provide SEO and so I definitely recommend utilize that to go ahead and pull any and I like for your site and what am I late if I will show you how to get that set up here in the city bus go ahead here all right what are some best practices for school website and content organization Michelle's Michelle's asked me what we have access today is Google after ordering the workshops Michelle we can do is we'll send a follow-up email to all attendees will have a link to the recording of the help center and also include this Google slide presentation in there as well as a PDF we will have access today's INR follow up email hear what are some best practices for School Website Maintenance and content organization now when it keeps kind of simple here and you'll see it's kind of messy navigation the best practice we really can kind of offer up here is simplify simplify simplify keep it short and to the point right we have seen a lot of sites with just you know have a swimming only have like four or five that navigation containers so your site navigation containers are going to be what we have up top here neither side navigation to painters you know we hover over this and it's just boom a huge list that is continues on as well pass down your way we can see here that is not a best practice at all we want we want to keep this on super super simple and short to the points I would easily identifiable categories no problem no parent student faculty community members we really want to prioritize the most frequently access page we really recommend utilizing about five to eight by navigation containers all right now when your site is first design we offer up a specific amount of sign at the tears that we think works best with a design on if you were add any more sign of containers reach out to your CSS then go ahead and easily add one for you immediately it's at at the super simple a request for that I'm thinking I'll get it done for you in like 5 minutes so if you ever want to add any more from what your side design currently has reached specialist keeping it simple is always going to be the best practice here I think I use one or two words for those top-level I'm saying that container I don't think about logical hierarchy right want to organize content in a way that makes sense you know what the economics under students or you can give your parents are putting a resources page is under there you know like that we really want to avoid the nesting you want to hang for no more than three clicks to reach any page within your sight which brings me to our next best practice here for page management I again we're going to simplify simplify simplify within page Management and Hot back to the admin stay here if you've used rcms in the past you know how Visionworks I saw your sight comes with six of the six categories you can use all right up to six categories you can use here click into a category that's where you going to find your sections sections you have as many sections as you like you're only you know what the categories you went into six sections you can have as many as you like it click into a section I have all of the pages within a specific section really kind of think big picture when standing out your content within page Management on this where you really want to simplify that right remember three clicks no more than three clicks right so we want to keep if possible you know I'm leaking from here you know maybe licking to that first paid within a section was going to click into one here so you can see here we have our section me the top here I'll find another narwhal languages you're worthless extra menu here we want to utilize like this first page link up then go in so many clicks here if they need to get to any other page that can utilize this extra money on the side you want to think big picture when I going in and adding pages to your page management know your audience right tailor content to their specific needs and interest you simple language for parents and students may be more technical terms for faculty and staff would building Oz that content I also want a chunk and prioritize your content break down information into digestible chunks clear heading subheadings highlight key points in an ounce with prominently within a page within also kind of condition when there is using multimedia utilize Graphics right build up graphics and can but it's so easy to do nowadays you know find videos on YouTube or the if you know if you have enough time or a team you know if you'd like to do it for you at the school videos if you can in your site design I really breaks up the content and keeps visitors more engaged it's super easy to add graphics within a page and as well as videos it's very easy to embed videos from YouTube give me all things like that I'll do a page. Pleasant multimeter mediator looking to break up a page and you're also kind of hitting two different like learning still sat there as well everybody has different learning styles and then for the best practices for user management are we just looked at user management but I'm going over the difference account types and access they have two big points here want to make regularly audit your user management how many sites that we have that have never updated at user management and staff members are no longer there at the school and remember you use the management is tied to your staff directory rice do you want to make sure we're regularly updating that even what is a security standpoint we want to make sure that I like I was saying before only people that need to have access to your site have access to a Sweetwater regularly audit your user management all right going to the what who what where we're at right now and that is next question is where do I log in seems simple enough but you know if you're ignoring your site you might not know where most of our sight designs on a demo Stadium Riverside designs we score the bottom or the footer is most of us are going to have right here a login button and as we can go in and login to your admin site right you don't have it in your site design again we try to add it to every site designed if it wasn't out of there for some reason check your email the main point of contact when was being built we send the project do your p.m. send you an email with links in a pattern phone all that with everything you need there again you know or worse comes to worse than was reach out to your your CSS will be happy to send that info to you but first things first check if letter alright where can I see page analytics all right all right here where the hop in back into the DMs I must explain here from the hammer drop that money to analytics I will go to Publix I-10 All rights to this website we already have Google analytics I'm set up I'm going to go ahead and click on here to view the analytics dashboard all right so this is just some general info that we have here on the you can see what it might look like on your end I specifically want to go to another site hear Stevie this one I'm going to log into a different account here folks see very okay for this one this way I know we do not have to wait on it and set up all right I just want to cut it a show you what it looks like if you don't have set up yet I'm quick on a drop down menu go to analytics and public site analytics here right here what is Ray Google analytics with your website click on that article cuz it is set up here you know you have to go through Google and get say Google analytics for IP and then from what you have that will set up again in our house sitting here we have it all set up here as a walkthrough for you you know through here and get that info as needed but follow these steps and you can go into your site by going to site management and staff come on down here to SEO and marketing and this is where you can go ahead here and entering your Google analytics ID once you have it set up and then you'll be able to start pulling info right seeds super valuable information here right on in page analytics you can see a visual assessment how user interacting with your webpage you know I'll kind of answer questions like is this layout Altima for what I want to accomplish this page are my user seen the contents that I want them to see you know what are you looking at me looking at the page for utilizing nect is call to action only visible enough are they getting the clips that they need to wear our people clicking on your page definitely recommend setting this up especially really for private schools when we really know if your daddy is you want to start attracting more people to your ethio and acquaintances here is a great way to see what's working and what not on your site alright where can I find trending articles tutorials call center boom bam I only got your tongues of help articles we've got a bunch of our previous webinars here you'd want to see what's new with the CMS any other products is where you can come very easy to get to help.
