hello everyone and good afternoon good morning for those of you on the west coast my name is Taylor I'm a trainer here with Ted Leo and we're going to spend the next half an hour talking together about some Advanced page management options that you have with your enemy of sight a few things to note this training is being recorded this weather is being recorded so you're going to find it in The Help Center I'll point out where the health center is if you have already it may be where you signed up for this webinar today you're going to see if they're in the coming days to refer back to share with other folks in your building you also notice that the chat is disabled here today but the q-and-a is on so he's dropping any questions to realities anything you need repeated in the community and we'll get to those during our time together during our time together we're going to be going over some Elementary Benjamin that go beyond what you might have received in your initial Sam Ash training or in the basic intro to page training if you attended a few weeks ago if you rewash on the health center will be going into more specific pay option teach options things like layout SEO breadcrumbs friendly URLs how we can enter the accessibility of our sites how we can use tables to organize some information as teacher pages and best practices who is that let's go over into our demo site here I am in my demo site once again there is my help center available here and I can always find my home page right here of my working in we're chorus going to go into the hamburger menu in into page management today and over to our Pages now a review these difference between a personal pages and Pages personal pages every user of your dashboard is I have these are most frequently referred to as teacher pages so I can come and see my teacher pages here my personal user I can go ahead and build out all of those pages in the same way that we're going be building out our category pages today otherwise known as your site Pages your category page has probably heard this metaphor of our filing cabinet here you can have up to six drawer six categories in your change management maybe you want to minimize a down how many categories you have to better organize in less categories we can come over here to settings that's going to open our page settings we can also get there but I'm going to the hamburger menu dump site management and always find our settings here we have a few options of start scrolling down to the bar here we can see the list of our categories and we can go ahead if we want to go ahead and hide any of our categories on this website we can also have the public length of all of our categories what is that this allows on your front facing view you could even situate this on your site navigation menu in a button somewhere for folks to be able to see all the page sections available on your Samus over here we can go ahead and rename that page and we want to call it school Pages making sure to save up here and we're going to see change reflected there so again I'm going back for dashboard if we want to hide the number of classes in each section if your school maybe doesn't have standardized use of the class feature we could go ahead and do that and this might be a useful strategy to put a sort of search page on your site as well as tear down those categories moving we can come here to change our default page layout let's say your school who loves our hero image which app uses the section menu at the top of Paige's listening to some on it what I mean by that maybe we want to use this pay out this page layout we can go ahead and change all teacher pages existing pages but all pages have that same layout of course remembering to say that here going down a little bit further ricktim's you might see on particular pages giving basically an indication to wear in your quote-unquote filing cabinet this page lives so we can always have bread crumbs on never have bread crumbs on any page or keep them according to individual options of individual page options will also go over during our time today and we can see what does bread crumbs look like here is where you going to be able to go to turn those on or off awesome with that let's get in to some of our Pages I'm going to go again open my pages and I was can always search for the page that I'm looking for so I want to search for a page previously made different one of our webinars together I made us swim section in my buttocks category and I have this swim team page if I could tear on swim it's going to open to that section all the pages in that section if I go back I can also search in this view in the section do you'll notice I can click here on the swimming team individual page and it won't take me directly to that page to start editing in the section for a moment let's we have just one page in the section we can of course at ages in that section let's go ahead and first take a look at what your face looks like see what we're working with so we can go ahead and add some more additional items today so I have a hero image at the top here I'm going to see my bread crumbs that are turned on for this particular page I have my title in our pre webinar we added a staff block of our swim coach hear a Content block with some text we added some buttons we added some of our generals full-length we added embedded a video some texts we added a photo Shuffle we embedded a PDF awesome so let's go we're going to go ahead and add some more things to this page today let's for go back to our dashboard to our section and look at some other pages to this section that is going to result that we have a section menu in the section so let's say I want to take folks to another page recommend that this be usually external links to let's say I want to take you folks the resource of USA swimming so they can see all the regulations there and because I'm take outside of my SMS I want to have that open as a new tab when I go ahead and Save what do I say you might want to use that link to another page for external Pages because you can come to three. always to edit your page and move that page to different category or a different section you want to exist in multiple different sections you can go ahead and move it keep it organized as cleanly as possible maybe you do want it to exist across multiple sections in order to be found across multiple places and that's fine too now let's say we also want to add some of our feature Pages teacher pages are awesome we can have a form let's say we have our after-school program form that we use for all of our Sports I can go ahead and save that form directly in my section I can also go ahead and add some videos photo album calendar or length so let's say with links you might be familiar hopefully with all of your lengthy topics that you have on your home site looking at these links you have down here and you have some quick things on your main site will be here to make a specific topic for this page so let's say I want to go ahead and also give people that resource of USA add that link to my topic and I also want to add a YouTube video that we share for our techniques and tips as an example to add some of those lights there so populated some links to my page here now let's go back into our page or section swim and we can see that that is automatically added another teacher page intersection with those readily available for folks Brighton search and open my section super easily I'm also going to be able to pull in a calendar the same thing if I want to go ahead and add event I'm creating a specific swim calendar here I'm going to go ahead and get that the date and time details links any photos I want to get out of and now I also have a calendar as a part of my section let me go back into my swim section I can follow these breadcrumbs with in the dashboard to come back here no photo albums and videos show me very similar I can also add multiple forms you'll notice I'm going to go ahead open the photo album I can go ahead and create an album or multiple albums with all my strength pictures and go back and do my section same with my galleries remember that your videos this applies to all of your videos and your media you can have consent in stored here on your LLC Ms each up to two gigs so decent amount of space now let's check out the page options that I mentioned so if I come to my homepage I'm going to be able to come and edit this paper and do that in just a moment add something to that page I can also go to the public view this is going to bring me to the link of this particular page about the public link to the section will always bring me to the first page in that section so receipt run at first page in that section we're going to want to add our section menu here so we can see all of those sections let's go back and do that first let's go back into our options if I want this section of my sight navigation menu I can just add it to Beckley it's not block the swim section or the particular page that I'm navigating from to the bottom of my sight navigation I'll be able to move it wherever I want polish history let's say there's some changes made your not sure if you do that change was correct or not maybe you need to get in contact with the person who made that change to figure out why that was made history is going to help out there you going to be able to come here and see who published and when to be able to have some more information about again we're looking into specific page we can go ahead and have those options for all of our cages in these cases are options are different since they're pulling features we can also go in copy this page if the template is something that's going to save us time and unpublished and publishes great because don't have to delete the page for it to not be live it can simply be on and we can see that have some published when it has this little charade I you can go ahead and republish when you're ready now if you do delete pages the great part is that you can come here and always view deleted Pages these are both category and personal pages that we can come head and DuPage or restore as we need because Rick called personal Pages again available for every user but category pages are going to be available to edit just by webadmin and any users who give the specific admin privilege to go ahead and particular sections or categories go ahead and now jump into edit 20 Page Universe appear that if we want to change the layout of our particular page we can drop down at the layout and are calling from side-to-side my section menu at the top unable to do that here or I can have my section and you and maybe my side column wonderful here it is sorry about that and I want that all the way up so people didn't fast as I just did beautiful I know a few things that we can do here we have one image here as our hero image we could go and make this a photo Shuffle some of you might have on your homepage we can make motorcycle using are here and it's layout on any page across our Samus let's go and add some more pictures here we're going to have to at our alternate text our alternative text keeps our page accessible by giving us alternate text our best practices of course to give between 2 and 8 or 10 word description at 4 those images will give you that a moment to load while at Lowe's let's come up here to the wheel and we can see that rotation is going to give us that photo Shuffle we could also have the engines beast at at the top of our every page in our hero Mitch area so I can have for images stacked in a square or keep it as a photo Shuffle Shuffle we're going to want to keep the width as full it looks as a much better at set been constrained in my personal opinion to give that flashy image impression alright let's get that one more go here we are all text quickly just give this my old texts and there we have. our hero images into a photo Shuffle now let's say we scroll down we want to change I have a photo Shuffle here where I got added a photo block and I've gone ahead and upload multiple photos in the same way that I uploaded in the hero image of photo black being dissipated black of course right here but maybe I want you to situate these photos in particular order clickable situate them and text for that we can use some really awesome tables so let's come over here and see for example a really great news tables in one of our Pages gave us a calendar here where were able to insert images how can we do this let me go ahead and come back to our slide look at a quick overview and then we're going to go in and practice together so tables are really awesome because we can have a really beautiful display for any media we can put gifts we can put images videos as I mentioned clickable situated in between texts so on and so forth in order to do that we're going to first at a contact blocks to our page using our add button at the bottom RTG every section were working in that we just stop we select our feet black excuse me our content black Americans black options we can go out and in the text editor table where can I go ahead in this case our example is going to be us four column by 5 row table until we went and picked those options and now we can merge cells to make paper example in the top row we want to make a header we can go scroll down to sell go over merge cells give that sell a background color so we can men going to row properties and we can give this a color of maybe our Star team in the kids are swim team again with practices in just a moment no worries we're going to be able to give you those cells tell her is using properties Real properties for going to open scroll down to drop in your hex code of the picture of the color that you want to put in your table and then we're going to be able to in any text that we want so if this is months if this is semesters are we can go ahead and add returns or line-breaks I'm to give you those to give the space to the cells that we need to then add the information that we want in each of those cells you can always save your drafts throughout your time and making your pages it's going to let you use your live review Our Lives review we're going to see when we make our table ourselves and we're also going to be able to check our accessibility at that time pretty cool now that you have your structure lined up you can go ahead and click out of the bottom of a file blocks you can upload images to that filed for use in the table uniform images are going to wear that for purposes of the gallery so that they all appear the same height and width excetera now if you can open the Live Crew do or publish page once more go ahead and select the images within that file and I'll go ahead and right click on the image copy it and then navigate back to our draft well in this we have our a September image added and now all of our images added from across our months so this is an example if you want to use tables to organize images this is what our final product looks like now let's go back over excuse me let's go back over to our page and use our table example but let's say we want to add images and videos we can go our content blocks up here in my three dots here is where I find my table so in this case let's say I want to go ahead and add for images and videos I'm going to want to go ahead and merge my top go to make that lovely header against going to my table going down to sell merging those cells not to go into Rowe & Rowe properties on a scroll down to Advanced lifts my my swim team uses of right for both going to want to drop that hex code here and now I'm able to say student stop light I can go ahead and get some space and each of these images and now I'm going to be able to go and add an image either in the way described in my steps that you just went over or as such let's go ahead and give this I can go ahead and resize this image one way we can go ahead and add these images in our our table going through the order that I that I went through we're using our file is going to allow you to have a little bit more uniformity in your images this is going to allow you to add your images a little bit faster so it's really up to you what you want let's say you want to go ahead and some more images here again I can resize here or with my cursor awesome and the benefit again here is I can go ahead and make this a hyperlink so let's say I want to go and highlight the video of this particular meet in our last season I'm going to open that a new page since I'm taking Cokes outside or website and now this link is applicable again I'm also able to situate text and give the example of maybe what the student-athletes name is which meat this was so on and so forth I'm also able to wait in here media multimedia so let's say I want to go ahead and actually just situate that hole swimming I can go ahead and do that now again and have some ability maybe marriage these two rows in order to give more space for my video just to show you again we're going to come up here to take sorry folks appear to my table sell myself and then stop my video here so these are just some different options to give you an a table that uniform in in its design as we saw over in our slide showing you how you can put multimedia and make things a diverse Diversified in your pages they're eating her drop is going to let us two again every time we could keep messing around here making sure that our images are size and uniforms but I keep showing you some of our features here so we'll move on from tables and now that we've saved your drafts you'll notice next to layout we have the actual menu populated we can come here and preview our draft and Beyond being able to prove you are drafts across different device types so we can see okay how did that table that we just add look on mobile. I can come I could see my whole file I've been bedded in our last time together and see all the way at the bottom what that that looks like I'm desktop Bruce's mobile we're going to want to go ahead and take us closer look at that excuse me and I can also scan wait so I can come here and I can do a free accessibility evaluation tool & Beyond having all texts on all of my images it's going to give me a Spore and tell me where I can have more accessibility so again if we can save our draft as we go we can publish the page if we keep this page as a draft recalled its previously published what is going to show honor page well when we go back who are section we can see that this is a draft and what is a draft is specifically that table that we just added as well as our hero image Shuffle so that's going to allow us to more time to make sure we've had it all the images our table looks exactly as we want and then we can go ahead and publish those additional sections now let's also go ahead and look at our cage options so I'm going to go ahead and Open my page again come to my action menu and look at my page options my page options are going to give me several different additional features one is set the fight of friendly URL so you might be familiar that we also have friendly URLs AKA redirect in page management right here you can go ahead and say the list of all the Reader X that are already set for your site but we can all set timer to this particular page and go ahead and give this a friendlier name so we can make that swim team for example we recommend keeping the friendly rails simple there's also going to give you some SEO options for your type page titled have your pay shuttle tag helps you boost your ranking in search results so we definitely included to keep it short keep it easy and if you're concerned about boosting your SEO not had it the same for every page so this is giving us just essentially are bred from so we can save swim team Whitney Middle School or whatever we want the pitch title tag in the search results and the middle page description at 5 default this is going to be the same for all of your pages across your site so again if you want to boost your SEO you can give this a short summary no more than 160 characters think of it as a tweet we can go ahead and just give a description of what's happening on this page same with keywords on keywords we'll go ahead and also there's a little bit of uncertainty still in Sao Community about how they post your SEO so we want to keep the just a few we might want to stay at the swim team middle school so on and so forth no more than it maybe four or five is a best practice and additional header tag these are used for reposting on social media so that is what your head or tags are going to do now we scroll up and here we call that bread crumbs that we could change them to have just according to the end of options here are those in the individual page options so we were going to go ahead and save all of those changes and now we are ready to publish our page let us go out in one final thing and will open up for Q&A let's say we want to password protect particular Pages password protected areas are going to be great so that we can go ahead and make a new area and let's say are you for all of your staff we can go ahead and enter the URL of the page you want to protect or we can go ahead and find it in our category is here so we can search for for example our Athletics and go ahead and password protect our swim team page who has access we can add specific users maybe you want to make this an admin section or we could add all users this is going to give you a password protected access to every where's the dashboard account or to go ahead and remove all users to add all Staff All Staffing to be all users who have a staff user type in your staff directory we can go ahead and save that area I'm going to have to go and Riad are swim and save that area intersection is now added we can go ahead and renew yes again whatever we want maybe this is useful for staff when are you for admin so on and so forth what does going to look like is as touched let's go ahead and open our swim page and now I'm going to need to log in to see this page if you have SSO turned on than your Google or Microsoft SSO will allow you to log on awesome that is what we have thank you so much for driving today if you need any questions you can always reach out to your client success specialist they're your best resource if you don't know who that person is reach out to client success it at Leo and we'll definitely connected with them we're now going to open to do our q in it thanks again so much your time today the this recording will be available on in our help center so again you can get to our help center help. ahead and back up to show you where let you have a few minutes on the screen of where it showed you how to do that first of all who created the content blocks we saved that and then if I'll block was added so I'll leave this up if you want to take any screenshots while we go to the other parts of the q-and-a for time thank you so much for any issues with Amo image assets and I definitely recommend you reach out to your seat that's your CFS has time on our calendar so you can always grab a half an hour and go over some of these questions with them I'm if you don't have the that image access again you should when putting those three dots at the top of your of your text editor be able to see that little image icon or just as the screen shows an ad images file blocks and then add those and pull them in there so let me know if you're seeing that and then if not if you're not seeing the same screen that I was definitely reach out to your CSS thank you for the question all right formatting a table for a mobile device screen you might want to rely on using less Collins and more rows I'm so that it's a little bit thinner and is easier to scroll you definitely introduce choose that live preview options you can see what it's looking like on a mobile device screen to help you against any further tips for your specific table your CSS I can definitely help you with that if you're getting a 404 message can if you can put in the Cuban a is your site already live if your site is not yet live in your tending arm are webinar send your links are going to that error message until they are alive and then your your domain is live and all of them will work it also again might have been removed the same chance or is temporary unavailable it is a Patriots a few years old I would recommend a page management make sure that that page is not been on public what you're describing just seem a little funky what I would recommend is you could definitely talk to your CSS or you can also go ahead and talk open a ticket with support because of this your page is there you're seeing the page it's published and there's no there's no apparent reason to you that it should look like that you can go ahead and check in with tech support now you open a tech support ticket going to help down to contract edlio support going all the way down and you can go ahead and click this blue button and open a new case here in about 48 business hours the two ways to get support that would recommend in the case of this particular issue that I totally agree with you a little funky there and we'll help you resolve that particular page it could also be just to close the loop on the password protected area make sure that you've added folks on to be able to get into the password protected area so again we can create password protected areas but we're going to want to go ahead and give you folks access so that no one has maybe it's just you know essentially block all users go ahead and check that I'll go back to this slide for anyone booster wants to go and Tay screenshots of that table that we went through we're getting out to our end of our time together I want to go ahead and answer the last question in the queue in a I apologize for the delay in getting to this if you are here and can explicate making more than one drop down in a row if what you mean by drop down so we went ahead and in our demo table merge two rows out of text at an image and video so let me know what you mean by drop down if you can and you're still here if anyone else has any last questions we have a few minute
