and it is 11:30 right on the.and we are very cognizant of your time am I yelling I feel like I'm yelling I don't want to be yelling okay I am coming to you not from my home base in San Antonio Texas but I am actually at the National Catholic educators are so Mission conference in Pittsburgh so I have found a room that nobody's in hopefully I won't get kicked out if you see like a security guard come and grabbed me and hauled me away if someone could call 911 for me or something or just bail me out if you could quick introductions and we'll get started my name is Roland Rios happy to be here I am the edlio community relationships manager I work on the marketing team I'm a former educator high school math teacher High School assistant principal Midland High School principal technology director and now I am retired from public at and happily working with the edlio team helping schools communicate with their parents that's my introduction shortly I'll let Jessie hi there my name is Jeff Cook I am the Creative Marketing Manager here at Leo I'm based out of the Nashville Tennessee area and before coming to a Leo I was a secondary English teacher for 7 12th grades for a good number of years God bless you just let's jump into the parking patient if you could next lie please just I'd like I said earlier if you want to ask you can unmute your mic you should also have access to the Q&A panel so if you want to drop a question in there you can do that as well just will probably be monitoring that I am on a single little laptop and I'm used to my big to Giant screens at home I don't have a whole lot of real estate on my computer will do the best to answer all of your questions as we go through our presentation today and next line don't worry if you get pulled what me if you got to leave nothing happens we are recording this video and we will place it in The Help Center and will actually get it all to you for future reference so let's get started so why should you make supply list so early just was this your flight or mine I lost my notes I think this is me yes sorry I don't and this before folks several times it feels like the Monday or Thursday I've lived through in a while you know it's so here's the thing like supply list is just one of those things that you can check off early and get it out of the way and then you don't have to worry about it when that back to school scramble starts to hit you know you are probably facing every year these days like a lot of turnover and people start to leave and you don't know exactly when those new hires are going to come in if you get this year's teachers new story of establish what the kids are going to need next year then those new hires don't have to have one more thing they've got to figure out immediately as soon as they start the job you know parents want to start shopping early a lot of the time they're going to be calling the office asking what the list are if you can hand them out in Spring before they even leave for the end of this current school year than they're already said and they can do their shopping whenever they choose to also help them financially they don't have to spend all that money in August they can kind of spread it out throughout the summer and buy a few things here and there to really maximize that opportunity so that's why we got to get this playlist out early but why do we want to make them dinner you know I'm used to the old days where you you go to the store and they have a little rack and you see all the printed copies of your local school districts and pick those up or not a lot of schools will just put a PDF of there a supply list for parents to download what is the advantage of making them digital or what you going to see through our partnership with teacher lists our supply list features allows these parents to a shop online and online shopping of course as a preferred method for the majority of adults a joke. your house so we suffer from Amnesia that's when the cardboard box shows up at your front step from Amazon and you can't remember what you ordered that morning I sent a before and you open it up like Christmas. So lots of people are doing online shopping at like I said our partners teacher list parents can look at the list and add the entire list of their shopping cart with a single click from a lot of major retailers like Amazon at Target us some other office supply stores they can also use that can add stuff to their shopping list make it added from Amazon looking at it from Target then they can compare list and say you know what I'm going to buy these four items from this store these five items from the store and they're able to do comparison shopping without having to travel from store to store so making the list digital we're not just talking about loading up a PDF yeah that's kind of digital but this is a very interactive incredibly useful tool for your parents to be able to not only see the list but shop and get those supplies immediately what other great thing it does for your parents next line is it it helps to him avoid that shopping the nightmare Jess and I had a lot of fun looking for animated gifs of shopping you know people scrambling now we know it never gets this bad okay but you know I'd I've been to Target I've been to it to the local shopping stores during that back-to-school time and you can't find this particular folder you can't find the the right College lined paper and you see that last one on the shelf and you you're grabbing it this will get rid of some of that type of shopping Nightmare and hopefully keep ourselves and our parents off the evening news and also animated gifs like this great I just had some really cool ideas on I'm not just put in your classroom supply list but how else can you use these digital list just so you know something to I wanted to just share as a parent I used to have kids and three different schools and especially when I get to that secondary level they have multiple supply list because they have multiple teachers and multiple classes I just have to make a spreadsheet every year and I would take every list and I would like okay how many total pencils do I need how many total composition books do I need and try to correlate the data if my district have had a tool like this I could have just added all three list you do or all twelve less as it ends up being too my car at they all wind up on Amazon and then I can see from the 14 packs of pencils and maybe we don't need quite that many you know so it's just a really big Time Saver in that situation but going Beyond just what does Miss Cook's English class need for next year there are so other ways to get other staff members involved in this process too if you use this digital tool and to give families an opportunity to contribute to areas of the school where they might not be regularly communicating with those particular staff members for example the school nurse you know she interact with all of those kids but very rarely that she have any kind of like face-to-face conference time with parents and she has a lot of things that she might want to be given out to the student small snack peppermint shoes that Patra even just little prizes or Band-Aids that have cool patterns on them you know things like that that she could create at the wish-list same thing with the library in it and all of your sort of special subject teachers gym class art class guidance office at cetera like they can make a list of sort of wish list items that they would use with larger groups of students say what cool instruments for the art class for the music class. They want to know extra paint brushes for the art class and it's something that every child needs to bring in but if a family member is willing to donate some of those items to the school it makes that class that much more engaging for those student you know what the guidance counselor they might want coloring books or art Therapy Supplies journals that they can give out to the students and even within a classroom it's like there are things the teacher needs that she made me doesn't need every single student you know especially like what I taught middle school or high school I might have 150 students a year I don't need a hundred and fifty of one thing but it would be nice if twenty families donated something you know so things like first aid supplies that you can keep inside the classroom so that he doesn't have to go to the nurse every time there's any trouble we have the idea of adopting student so a lot of times at back-to-school time there are families who really struggle to provide all of the supplies for their students if you can put together one student worth of supplies into a single consult dated list and a Community member a local business leader you know a parent can say you know what I'm going to donate all of the supplies for 1/3 greater or one fifth grader or one pie School senior and that way you know the school can have Tractor Supplies on hand to sort of subtly give to those students who show up on the first date empty-handed we've even got like a just-in-case cabinet themselves in serious like send water bottles and hygiene supplies and things like that and then also teacher treats do you know it can be great for the administrators to have a little wish list of things that they like to hand out to their teachers gift cards are cool gadgets and you know even just email I'm literally holding me the you know that the enjoy pain that all the time but you know things like that that you can create a wish list and then be able to give out prizes to your teachers throughout the year to keep up the motivation we've also put together a list of resources for you so this is at this URL and again all of this will be in the house center too and we're finished so you don't necessarily have to make note of their to write it down we basically built together a lot of resources to help you implement this and communicate it with both your staff members and your family so there are some how to Flyers that walk you through what Roland's about to show you live in person how to set up these supply list on your edlio TMS and get them published so that families can use them and there's also some email template so you can share that with your teachers and tell them how to do the steps that they would need to take to build their list well it's like social media graphics and web articles to help you share these digital list with your families and direct them to the right page on their website on your website where they'll be able to find all of these lists and take advantage of this opportunity okay so now we're going to jump into a live demo as as just that I'm going to go through this it's going to be rather quick I don't expect you to become experts in the next 10 minutes or so as I as I show you this demo all these step-by-step drawing that supply list of resource page so please director teachers to that if they need additional Assistance or reach out to your content support specialist a be happy to help you out also the folks at teacher list Kim and her staff are incredible you can even reach out to them what I'm going to show you now is when you get to the supply list feature to begin with how do you upload a supply list and what happens after you upload that supply list and then how do you publish that on your site I can you put it on your navigation bar or make a story on your main page on your edlio website send it out to email voice text social media using broadcast when then finally how do you add a link on a specific page we're going to look at publishing both the entire list of all the supply lists in your school or district and then a visual supply list as well so let's do this as we say so you have stopped sharing it just I'm going to not share my screen it was share button we're going to get rid of this okay hopefully you're all see my screen I'm trying to figure out how I can get a little bit more real estate again I'm used to to Giant foot monitor hooked up to this small little laptop that I've got okay we are on the Miguel School District a site that we have here and I'm going to magically login I'm logged in and that's a map of course you would scroll down to the bottom or find your head Leo login and type in your credentials most of you are very familiar with this our landing page our dashboard there's two has to get to the a supply list feature one if you scroll down you going to see this big button right here supply lists the other place you can find it is in the hamburger menu under supply list if for some reason you do not see Supply with are your particular school again get in touch with your constant contact support specialist clients client support specialist they're going to help you out we are going to need a tax ID number from your accounting department at to get you on there but some very simple setup and then someone from the school register with teacher lesson then you'll be up and running easy process to get this button showing up so I'm going to work on supply list this takes me to the Miguel School District supply list and these are all of the supply list that have already been luggage and published in case we've got a handful of them here now I'm going to show you that I need a new supply list how do I do that right up here you see upload and manage lists on teacher was going to click on this button here and this takes us to our super duper edlio supply list of page that's already linked up with teacher supply list to make it easy for you the first thing you do is look for your school or Miguel Miguel School District zip code of 999 999 dr. many nights five nights there we go I'm going to scroll down and find me edlio Miguel School District you'll type in your actual zip code of course your School pop up and they found your school and then it says next very simple as walking me through step-by-step I love it all right before I upload I'm going to see what's already there so here they are this is what's already there my supply list. uses algebra supply list is not there so I need to upload it so check their don't see it let's continue to upload my list now I drag my file what kind of file you say it can be anything that can be read an actual person and let me explain why the wonderful folks giving her team over at teacher list if they don't have a magical thing that reads this funeral is optical character recognition feature actual human beings that go through list and build these with my hand in order to link them to the stores so anything that they can read it could be at the document that could be a spreadsheet that could be at the picture it could be a PDF I did a quick to upload mine I'm going to go to my desktop and here is doctor has his Algebra 1 class 2425 supply list I'm going to open that now it's going to ask us a couple of questions right is this placing an existing 2425 West or is this new I'm going to say this is a new one to tell me what the file name is is this list Evergreen what we mean by that is is this going to be the same from year to year or we going to have to change it well I'd listen to this 2425 so I'm going to say this not Evergreen I'm going to have to change that that also lets the folks at teacher let us know at the end of the calendar year let's clean all that stuff out so that there's no confusion between last year and next year supply of us how many classes will this affect the way I teach for algebra class has any additional information I can type it in here can't wait to meet my new kiddos blah blah blah and I say next now I have to sign into teacher less okay if you don't have an account it's a very easy setup I have an account so I'm going to click sign in I have everything saved in my 1password love one password cuz I can never remember any passwords now it's asking if you have some generic items on your list would it be okay for us to eat The Trusted name I like Elmer's Glue instead if you do say yes they donate some additional funds to help us schools in need so I'm going to say yes and that's it it's us except now it does say they should be ready to do in 48 hours again the reason for that delay it's not an automatic super duper AI thing going on here it's the wonderful Folks at teacher was there making this happen so give him a little time and eventually when you come back to this list if I hit refresh now when I get to see dr. Seuss left quite yet they're not that fast they're fast but not that fast but these are the list that have already been uploaded all right so we've got the list uploaded I'm going to pretend that I'm working with this fifth grade and just a little bit now how do I get that list to the invite my parents can see it first start by showing you how to do all the lists that sometimes it's easier for teachers for pups you before parents just a click on the button that says playlist and then find there's from that list soap up in the very top there just share list button I'm going to click on share with this button means all of the lists medical chair lifts now I've got one two three four five options here at Leo makes it easy for you the first one is just to copy a link okay if I were to copy this link I can come over to a new tab I could paste the link and there's all of them right there okay now it looks like it is on the website okay but it's not in the navigation bar yet parents can't find it so why would I use this button here just a copy the link Maybe take that to a QR code generator maybe I'm making a poster in canva and I want a QR code to parents can scan maybe I want to put this in the email to the parents that's just an easy way to copy the link okay that's techno another way we could do that is I want to go ahead and put this in my navigation bar so does my parents come to the website they see a link or the supply list we've made it easy for you I'm going to click add to stop fight navigation those of you that have do you like navigation say what Ronnie already have the link once you just go to the site navigation and created yourself you could or you can just look at button do all the work for you this is going to go straight to site navigation to take me straight to that pay if I scroll all the way down to the bottom you're going to see it already added it in there get selected feature page and it selected the supply list as the feature page so it has done all that work for me but I'm going to rename this playlist for 20 24 2025 by default this is an important part here by default you're going to see that it places it in the last pull-down menu you have as my contact menu make sure you this Miguel School site again it by default is going to place it down here I want to put it on their parents I think that's probably a better place for so all I have to do is grab the little moving on that's the little six dots and I'm going to drag this up I get to see where I'm at. This is under this. I'm going to move it up a little bit that's good cuz I know sometimes this is kind of difficult for cuz you just going to take it with it now it's the first one under parents I hit save now I'm going to go back to Miguel let's reload this page I think I may have a pop-up be up there does that's not our Papa that wasn't a different demo that when I go to parents will do that right on the parents is my supply list for 20 for 20 and I've added it to my supply list in that awesome now our parents going to know that it's there and I'll be looking right there so what I want to do is I want to make it a story over here and using announcements we've made that easy for you under the share with you see ads inside navigation right next to it add to news again you say Ronnie got the link once you better make up your own U-Store-It why do doll that work when we can do it I didn't click add to news it takes me straight to my news and announcements election it puts in my head line and has a short summary this year you can find your student supply list and add it to your shopping cart with just a quick it even wrote a story for you and when I say it just wrote the story just as fabulous as she did all of this for us it includes the link right there the only thing it doesn't do and I like pictures on the picture kind of guy it did not photo so I am going to add a photo that I created earlier my supply list graphic of course I used can before it but we use canva for everything up missing all text we need to be ADA Compliant supply list graphic just a little I cannot type in people are watching me all right and I'm going to save that that you saw earlier that pop up I'm going to replace that homepage alert with this one so it's going to have a homepage alert as well this is exciting to replace the existing alert hope somebody else isn't in the middle of a demo let's go back to Miguel left refresh going to show you a couple of things now. the Lord might not happen right away it's an awesome there's a beautiful graphic I made there's a full story I can go read full story or if people scroll down and they're going to see that story right here isn't that great I know I'm sick through the skies I hope you're hanging with me two more ways that we've made it easy if you want to share it via broadcast if you I use are at Leo broadcast feature we can do that with broadcast if you have the free version of bra you're still going to be able to send it out to social media right now we don't have any social media connected to this demo site but you would see Facebook not Instagram and as much as I hate to call it X you would see X if you subscribe to our e-mail text and voice you can send it out that way as well I'm just going to choose these first to email and text we say continued and it's going to come from me again just as already written your email for you there's text we've already written the text for you all you got to do is they continue we put a contact list let's send this out to this demo list I don't know who's on this list and just like that I hit send and now it has been emailed okay we're going to let parents know every which way we can you know that's the secret to success with messages last week this real quick is newsletter if you haven't played with our newsletter features wonderful you can drop use letters inside of at Leo and it is going put this story inside your newsletter let me do a little preview here and there it is already inside your newsletter and this can be sent out electronically lots of ways to share the entire your list with everyone now going to get the individual listen to do this quickly I'm taking my time and rush through this when I look at an individualist what's a 5th grade supply when I click the three dots over here you going to see this same share list that we did up here on this chair list I can do those exact five things that I just showed you with individualist I can create a QR code to put it on a poster I can add a single lift with side navigation like just said maybe the counselor wants to put her little counselor wish list a link directly to that when she would do that here you can add that to a new story broadcaster newsletter so everything I just showed you worked with all the list or you can send that a single list I'm going to quickly show you how you can also add it to a page you may have departmental Pages you may have a teacher page I'm going to come down here to pages I'm going to go to my person page to do this I got a personal page it looks a little something like that meet dr. Rios but I want to add another part to your night like on this meet Doctor what the  I don't know why I turned my head and I'm cut the microphone right here that didn't do no good at all when I got all I did is call Force into the microphone very guys under this little bio when I cut them you know how our Pages working by adding blocks check this out guys there is a supply list block right here so I can say I'm going to click a supply list at Lisa's which supply list if my doctor rios's this was already here I choose that one for this think of this argument I'm going to choose the fifth grade list like that in there we're going to publish this now when I go back and look at my page there's my supply list right they're awesome if you want to get fancy I'll show you a fancy way to do it in this case I am going to need to go back over here where is my supply list activity tabs open I need to go back to this and I need to grab that blink cuz I'm going to show you how to make a button for it so I'm going to grab the link for that supply list I'm going to add a button if you haven't added buttons to your page and you got to have buns and make sure page looks so cool we had a button and the button is going to say 2024 or 2025 my list oh my goodness gracious do I need to put the URL in there come on now it's not letting me up with an app that was the style I want come on there it is can a couple of clicks there sorry about that I add the URL I publish snap now my page I wouldn't do both I would do one or the other what does refresh tried again all the suddenly internet real slow here at the convention center just can you still hear me okay then again I don't work that time there it is they got a cool course I can misspell list it's deleted those are a couple of additional waiver right up at 12 I know I showed you guys a ton of stuff there and I do apologize for see you again we didn't expect you to learn everything in one Fell Swoop like that all of this information can be found on that supply list a resource page that we put together for you we'll send you a link to this recording and again always reach out to your clients Express success specialist they are incredible people I'm a former edlio client and I was always amazed that when I called the 800 number I was talking to an actual human being within four or five rings that could made threats and Kim and her gang over at each of us are always available as well any questions for us I hope this is what you were here to see I hope this helped I think your parents were going to love this if you give this opportunity to them it just makes their life so so much easier that doesn't upload your list but we also have a free concert service so you can send the list directly to our concierge service and we will upload them for you I mean do you have a lot on your plate so sometimes you just don't have time to do that and they just need to specify their atleo clients or do they just tell what school they're worth about your school your District so we'll figure out the rest awesome okay thank you so much joining us I know it's a Sprint by Jess and I both been where you're at before and it's a Sprint between now and then you got your your State Testing a lot of you and then major before you know it enjoy the rest of your school year we're going to do it I probably another webinar another push on this in the summer when maybe you had a chance to relax if you have any questions on any of this please don't hesitate to reach out just thank you so much all of them thank you and I mentioned just where we are I jumped into a room here at the convention center Saturday table I don't know what they were doing in this room but there's glitter all over the table and then just out all over me my computer my uncle so I'm going to go put her down at the exhibit fall 400 the day you guys have a wonderful day and a wonderful weekend
