Conversations Security Protocols/Limitations

All Conversations details, including actual messages, are logged, kept, and reviewable by administrators and exportable on request.

These records are preserved as long as the client continues their service and for up to 1 year beyond the client terminating services or sooner if requested. A user closing or deleting a Conversation does NOT remove it from our records.

Teachers/Admins can initiate a Conversation with anyone 1-1 or in groups

Students/Parents/Other can initiate 1-1 Conversations only with Teachers/Admins (they can NOT initiate group Conversations or directly with other Students/Parents/Other

All Conversations have a technical "Owner." In the case of a Teacher/Admin-initiated Conversation, the Teacher/Admin that created the Conversation is the Owner. In the case of a Student/Parent/Other-initiated Conversation, the Teacher/Admin who the Student/Parent/Other initiated the Conversation with is the Owner. In other words, the Owner is ALWAYS a Teacher/Admin.

The Owner of any Conversation can: add additional participants, remove participants and close the Conversation.
