Email address changes for Broadcasts, Newsletters, and subscription emails

Upcoming email deliverability requirements from Google and Yahoo.

Both Google and Yahoo! introduced a new set of requirements senders must meet in order to reduce spam and ensure deliverability. Emails that do not meet requirements may be delayed starting February 2024 and rejected starting April 2024.

In response to their recent policy updates, we are implementing a new protocol for sending emails to ensure continued service and compliance.

New email address for communications

For Canada sites, this change is effective starting March 4, 2024.

Starting March 11, 2024, all emails from our platform will be sent from  [email protected] . This change follows the new sender requirements from email service providers to enhance security and deliverability.

What is affected?

This change affects ALL email communications like subscription emails and password resets. These communications were previously sent from various email addresses originating from “edlio.com” or your organization’s domain.

All of these emails will now be sent from [email protected]  to comply with the new requirements.

Broadcasts and Newsletters

If you had DMARC set up for your domain before 3/11/2024, you can continue sending Broadcasts and Newsletters from your custom email addresses without any changes. Broadcasts and Newsletters will respect your DMARC policy.

Emails sent from Broadcasts and Newsletters were previously sent from an email address in your organization’s domain. These emails will now also be sent from [email protected] to ensure that they are not marked as spam and blocked by Google and Yahoo!.

To maintain continuity, the email display name will still use your chosen name and instead of the “from” address, the “reply-to” address will be set to your chosen email address. Recipients will continue to see your chosen name as the display name in their inbox and will be able to reply to your chosen email address.

Transactional Emails

Transactional emails are emails sent as confirmation of an action that you performed and were previously sent from  [email protected].

Subscription Emails

Subscription emails are emails that recipients have subscribed to and were previously sent from [email protected] .

Why is this change necessary?

Due to updated policies from Google and Yahoo!, we must adapt to maintain the reliability and effectiveness of our email communication. These policies include authentication measures to reduce spam and email security. If we do not comply, any emails sent from our communication channels will be rejected.

What actions are required?

Inform your community members
