Good afternoon, everyone. Thank you so much for joining me today for our Edlio teacher refresher webinar. Today we will cover updating your pages, classes, photos and et cetera. We also have a technical support representative in the chat who can answer any questions you may have. This webinar is being recorded and will be accessible in the Help Center after it has been completed, so lets actually go ahead and get started. So, what I'm going to do first here is I'm going to go ahead and actually log into the backend. And when you log in you will, of course, see the following dashboard. If you look at your dashboard, you have your icons here that you can click into, or you can go to our hamburger drop-down menu and access them the same way here. Now, a couple things I want to note on the dashboard before I show you how to create your pages. If you go under the account drop down menu and click into profile, this is where you can actually display your photo that you would like to show through the staff directory. And, of course, if you needed to change your name, maybe you wanted to add your position, you could go ahead and click on "Edit your profile" here. Another area as well that is very helpful is our Help drop down. If you click into the Help Center, this is a great place to go for additional resources and for teachers especially, Beginner is a great place to click into because we actually have tools available for you to use here that are specific to what you will be contributing to the website and of course, you also have your webinars that you can sign up for here and when we click "More on Webinars" and then "Videos" this is how you will be able to access all of the Edlio webinars. Now, the last thing I wanted to note as well under the Help drop down is our Contact Edlio Support. This is how you can actually reach our technical support team so if something isn't working on your end you're maybe seeing an issue, if you click into Contact Edlio Support and scroll to the bottom, your hours will be preset here with the phone number that you can call as well or you can submit a new case and that will go directly to our technical support team and they will be able to assist you. Now, one little tip that I wanted to give here, is that if you ever want to go back to your dashboard you can actually click on your school name and that will take you back. So let's actually go into creating our teacher pages. So I'm going to click on the hamburger drop down menu and let's go into Page Management and Pages. Now as you can see I already have a page created here and one of the questions that we get is "Where are these pages going to be accessed from?" So the way that parents and students access your teacher pages, is if you go on the actual website and you click into your staff directory, this is where teacher pages are accessed from. So if I search my name here and I click on the page, you'll be able to see the content that I've actually added onto my page. So as we make updates, it'll of course build out the page that we have here. I'm going to click back into admin site and let's click into the page that I already have created here. Regardless, or if you've already created a page, or you need to create one, it's all managed the same way. When you come to your page, you can of course go ahead and title your page here. You'll see that if you scroll down, you can add as much content as you'd like, as many photos, and as many files as you would like to on your page. And same thing with your section menu on the side: you can add as much content, as many photos, and as many files. And one thing to note is that you always want to make sure that you click "Save" so any content that you're putting on the page, will of course save and you won't lose any of your content. So I'm going to click back into my name here and let's actually create a new page. I'm going to click on Add Page and you'll see that you have many options listed here, but what we want to do is click on adding a Blank Page. So of course, my page will open up here and let's say this was the Testing page for example. You can click out anywhere and let's say I wanted to start with adding content to my page. I'll click on the Content box. You could type in here and as you see, you have some formatting options listed up top, you can hyperlink if you would like them to click on the word and then it opens up to a website for them, you can embed, and you can even add inline images to your text as well. If you wanted to add a little gallery on your page, you would click on Gallery and you'll see that our accepted file types are listed below and when you click on "Upload" it'll give you a list of where you can actually pull your photos from. I'm just going to click on "My Computer" and I'm going to select two photos here. Now, you have two options of how you want your images to display: you can have them rotating so they'll kind of go through like a slideshow and you can pause and resume that slideshow or you can just have them stacked so the images will just list under each other. And when you click on an image as well, you can add a caption to the image but another important area to note here, is the "Alt Text" button. And this of course deals with ADA compliance so if someone has a traumatic brain injury or their visually impaired, the alt text on the image will help describe to them what the image is and when you add the alt text, by clicking on "Alt," put a very general caption here and go ahead and click on "Save." And of course now if you wanted to add a file to your page, you can click on "File." Accepted file type is any. When you click on "Upload" you have the same four options like My Computer and I'm going to select a PDF here and one thing to note here with PDFs is that you can actually embed them on your page. Keep in mind, this will only work with a PDF. I'd like to try uploading that again here. And once it has been uploaded, if you click on the three dots, you can rename your PDF and this will not change your actual file name that you have on your computer or wherever you're pulling it from, it'll just change how it displays on your teacher page. And then of course if you wanted to embed the PDF, we suggest clicking on the largest icon here and that'll actually go ahead an embed it on the page for you. Let's say you wanted to add some content on the side, you could do so here and when we click on "Save" what I'm going to do now is go back to the site where we had the teacher page open and when I refresh the page, you're going to see that this section menu populated here so when I click on Testing, you're going to that here is my content, here is my gallery of my images I have, and you can pause and resume, and then of course the embedded PDF and they can even click on the PDF link if they needed to save the PDF for any purposes. Now one thing I wanted to mention is if you're looking at your page and you realize, "oh, maybe the gallery would be better before the text," you can actually go back into your page here and you don't have to start all over again. The six dots that you see on the side, you can actually just drag and drop, click on "Save" and when I refresh the page, you're going to see that now my gallery is first, then it's my text, and then of course the PDF that we uploaded here. And the same thing goes as well for if you wanted to change the order of your pages here in the section menu. You could also do that on the admin site as well, all you would need to do is just click back on your name and drag and drop the order here and that'll of course go ahead and save automatically for you. Now that we've covered the content that you can actually add to your pages, let's go into our hamburger drop down and let's go into our Plan module and click into Calendar. So you can actually add events to your teacher page as well if you would like to use this. It's very simple, all you would need to do again is go into Plan and Calendar and click on "Add Event." Let's say it was a field trip for example, you could of course put your date, put the time. If it's any event that needs to repeat, you could do so as well. If you wanted to add your location, you can go ahead and do so. For any additional details, you have your Details content box listed below. If there is a link you would like to attach to the event, you can also do that here and you can also add files to your event as well. So maybe you had created a flyer for the field trip. You can actually attach that here. Now when I click "Save," it of course populates the event here, but now when we go back to our teacher page and refresh, you're going to see that it automatically added the calendar here for you. So when we click on "Calendar" it'll show any of the events that you populate, on that calendar, and it will list them here on your teacher page. And again you can go in and add events ahead of time, you can add as many as you would like to here and this would be your personal calendar that only displays on your teacher page. And next option you're seeing in the Plan module is Facilities. Now this is only if the school actually has facilities listed for you to go in and actually make a reservation. If you are not seeing this on your end, do not worry, it's just the school has chosen to not use this feature. Now let's actually go into Media and let's go into Photos. So Photos allows you to create as many albums as you would like to actually share on your teacher page and in order to create the album, all you need to do if click here on "Create Album" and I'm just going to title my album here and you'll see the same four options of the accepted file types and when you click on "Upload" you'll see the same options listed here as well. So when I click on "My Computer" and select a few photos here, it will go through and upload the photos and once it's done uploading, you'll want to click on "See Your Photos" and this is where you can actually come in, click on the photo, add your alt text, maybe you wanted to add a caption to go with the image as well and you can click on "Next" to go through each photo here. And then if you want to see what this looks like, again you just need to go to your teacher page here, refresh the page, and you'll see that it now added your photo album section in the menu here so when we click "Photo Album" it's going to list out all of the albums that you create in alphabetical order. If you date them, it will list them in numerical order first and then it will follow in alphabetical order. You can click on the album name, click on the image, and of course scroll through. And the reason why my images are showing small is just because they're saved as that size, so if you have larger photos it will keep its original size, so when they actually click on the image, it will display the size that it was uploaded in. And of course under Media, you also have your Videos option so you can also add as many videos as you would like to, to your page if you had any to share and all you would need to do here is click on "New Video or Audio." This is just letting you know that closed captions are automatically generated. You would click on "Continue" and if you already have a video saved to your desktop, you can of course go ahead and upload, title the video, add your description, add the alt text of the video, confirm the videos language, and then go ahead and save and that will actually upload your video for you. And the other option that you have as well is if you had a video maybe off of Vimeo or YouTube and you wanted to take that embed code and just paste it here and upload the video, you can also do that as well by clicking into embed, pasting your code below, adding your title and your description, and clicking on "Save." And that'll of course go ahead and populate the video section on your page just like it did with photo albums. Now let's go into Classes and click on "Classes" here. Now, if you are not seeing classes as an option on your end, that is because the admin at your school or district has not created a current term. A term would have to be created on the admins end before you could actually go in and add your office. So in this case, because the admin had created a term, I can go in and click on "Add a Class." And if you use Google Classroom, you can actually connect your account here and choose which classes you would like to pull over to have it display on your teacher page. Now for those of you who don't use Google Classroom and you wanted to be maybe add a manual class on here, you could also go ahead and do so. You could type your course name here, say it was Period 1, and I'm just going to go ahead and leave it as Spring first term here. You could add a description, you can even attach any file here as well so maybe there is a syllabus or any specific items that the students need to have with them - you could add a list here and when you click on "Save," what this is going to do now is when I go to my page on the website and refresh, you're going to see that it populated across the section here and depending on of course how many you list, you can go in click into the class, and any information that you have listed will display here under Classes/Assignments. And again, you can add as many copies as you would like to, you can use the Google option, it's a feature that's available, you don't necessarily have to use it but if you wanted to, it is there for you. Now, the last item that I wanted to cover here for you is under our Announce module. And what I'm going to do first is actually go into Contact Lists. But what I want to mention before I click into "Contact Lists" is, when you look at your teacher page here on the actual website, you're going to see the Subscribe button here. If a parent or student clicks on Subscribe and fills out the information here, this is actually going to go into Announce and Contact List. So that will actually build into your teacher list that you have on the back end, But if you wanted to create a new list, you can also go ahead and do so by clicking on "New List." You could title your list here and click on "Add." Now you can manually add contacts, I would only suggest this option if maybe there was less than a handful that you needed to add on here, because the other option that we have for you is if you click "Add in bulk," if you have this list somewhere else, you can download our CSV template, place all of the contact information in there, and as soon as you click "Add" it's going to upload all of the contacts for you. And keep in mind that Contact Lists are only stored in the back end. These cannot be accessed on the public end of the website and where Contact Lists actually tie into as well is if we go back to our Announce module and click on "Email Sender," you actually have the option of sending emails to your list through the back end. And the way that this works is you would select "My info is correct," start an email, and we actually have templates here that you can choose from. So I'm just going to select this template here. And maybe there was an important message you needed to get across to parents, you needed to remind them of an important event, or distribute assignments that may be due for your students, you could enter your recipient here manually or if you click on "Add Existing," the contact list that I covered, if those are actually populated, you could collect as many of them as you would like to here and send it out to all of the contacts that you have on that list. Then of course you would put your subject, and you could go ahead and put an update, and if you wanted to embed here, you can, you can hyperlink, and you have some formatting options. And you'll notice you can send now or send later, so if you wanted this to push out at a later date and time, you could go ahead and do so. If you wanted it to go out right away, you could just leave everything as is and then you'll notice that there's a Preview Email button. If you click on the "Preview Email," it'll show you what it looks like on a desktop version and on a mobile device. Once you actually go ahead and click "Send," it'll of course go ahead and send out to anyone that was on your list and then you would actually just be able to go back and get very simple staff on the email that was sent, you can see how many were delivered, how many were opened, how many were not opened. You'll just get the basic analytics on the email that was sent out. So if you wanted to use this feature, it of course is available for you on the back end.
